FYI, I'm postponing hosting by 24 hours because I am quite indisposed for the immediate future and want to make sure I don't miss the deadline. |

When you do submit a turn, you may as well force host. Agartha has been defeated. btw. Shinuyama declares war on Marignon. |

Maybe in 100 turns my dominion would sweep the globe... assuming you guys don't build more temples... and a priest or two to pray there. I've never seen a domkill without blood sacrificing which wasn't also a traditional, military defeat. Naw, the aggressive dom pushing is defensive in nature. Plus MA Atlantis can build temples for 300 gold so I figured I'd take advantage of it. |

The Sea of Ice will prevent amphibious troops from entering the sea. Pretty sure it will stop fliers as well, though I have heard of some wierd interactions regarding amphibious fliers that may or may not be true. Ritual Spell movement should work OK. So Atlantis can comfortably spam teleporting Golems. In other news, I just found out Zmey != Bogarus' national conjuration spell. What a pleasant surprise! 2 1/3rd down, 2/3rds to go, assuming another is not on the way. |

Yeah, sea of ice makes mundane movement into or out of the water impossible (retreat bugs notwithstanding). It does nothing to prevent moving from water province to water province, though, so you can still do weird stuff like fly from a water territory, over some land, and back into another water territory. Magical movement into or out of the water is still permitted. Of course, the only magical means OUT of the water is Teleport, Gateway, Astral Travel and Stygian Paths. The same spells work to get you into the water, with the additional option of Cloud Trapeze. Sea of Ice is primarily a way to further segregate water and land nations. My plan, such as it is, has always been one of defense and consolidation. The nation of Atlantis has been expecting some grand invasion from the surface and was darn sure it would be prepared for it. It seemed both in-character and savvy at the time to take a defensive stance because I border every other nation in the game, several of which possess naturally amphibious troops (Agartha, Shinuyama and Ermor). Making it so the huge undead hordes can't simply wade into the depths because of a layer of ice seemed a good way to keep the peace; good fences make good neighbors, after all, and unbreakable ice sheets make good fences. |

^^...And I knew Atlantis was full of shit. Silly me for not defending my capital more effectively. And now Marignon is apparently mobilising against T'ien Ch'i instead of dealing with the army parked next it's capital...I wonder if you guys are working together? I might formulate a proper RP response once I have sobered up. |

Atlantis is acting lawfully and unilaterally. You have had the option to invade us in any manner you have seen fit since the beginning of the game. We have had the same. The fact that we are surgically waging our first war in almost 4 years, versus your ongoing, bloody culling of your neighbors should earn you no sympathy from anyone... it certainly doesn't from the deep. Retaliate. Tear open the heavens and pour down all the thunder you have. Scour us from the surface of the earth, if you can. We are the Kings of the Deep and in our domain our reign is complete. Whether we own your homeland by the end of the month, or the end of the year is still undecided. Whether you have anything to threaten us with beyond so much noise... that's the real question and we await your answer. - Atlantis |

Atlantis speaks of peace yet wages war. Atlantis speaks of bloody culling, yet what was the fate of R'lyeh? Atlantis speaks of empty noise and their hypocrisy echoes through the land. Do your worst. But spare us the sermonising about justice and law. Such are the tools of historians, not generals. If, and only if, your campaign is successful should you dare claim the virtue of your deeds. Treachery is forgivable, childish arrogance is not. Now let us see if there is any wit or subtlety to be found amongst the armies from the deep. What they have shown thus far does not impress me. -Maho Tsukai |

So, a new year... looking over it I can tell I no longer have the time needed to maintain my current glut of Dom3 games. Both work and home concerns are making it increasingly hard for me to keep pace with these games, resulting in delays, poor plays or (in a few rare cases) stalls. So, I'm going to try and find subs for me in almost all of my current games (I'm only staying in two that are either very close to a conclusion or are very low maintenance). I will continue my role as admin and will respond promptly to PM and forum posts, but I would like to promote someone still playing the game to co-admin, to ensure the smooth running of the game. Please PM me if you are interested. Sorry for the withdraw but I don't have the time to spare and my half-assing several games won't do anyone any good. |

I have delayed the game another 48 hours. I'm hoping to find a sub for Atlantis, which takes time, and then the sub will need to get up to speed on their new empire, which takes more time. I have extended an invitation to all of the game's eliminated players but if any of y'all know someone who would be interested, feel free to invite them on my behalf. If after 48 hours I have heard nothing from anyone then I'm thinking of letting the nation go AI. To quote Cowbird in a PM he sent me "with Sea of Ice in effect it might be interesting if you went AI. Just one tiny global holding back an ocean of bullshit while the remaining land nations duke it out could be entertaining". He makes a good point; a whole lot of money, gems and angry, angry frog people live under that ice; leave them be and you can continue your grand wars on land. Dispel the global and you'll suddenly have two more capitals you can claim but you'll have unleashed a whole lot of crazy onto the world. Whether having the Atlantis and R'lyeh capitals locked under the ice warrants lowering the number of capitals to win from 5 to 4 is something I'll leave the rest of you to decide... should a sub for Atlantis not be found. |

If it would not be so far in the game I would be interested. But taking over a complete new race in such times of war and against the "better" ones that are still there.. well, I am not sure if I could handle that in any way :/ |

Squirrelloid has been the first volunteer who was able and willing to take over what is a complex, late-game position. Many thanks for the timely subbing. I hope all of you have a good time and a good game. Also, I'm still admin so PM me or post in the thread if you need anything. And if anyone wants to volunteer to be co-admin, please PM me. |
