I made a Middle Age version of the beautiful Dawn of Dominions map.

Posted Image

"A scenario for 12 pre-set Middle Ages nations, with varying levels of difficulty depending on the nation. EASY: Ermor, C'tis, Oceania, Vanheim; AVERAGE: Mictlan, Jotunheim, Bandar Log, Agartha; HARD: Arcoscephale, Man, Ulm; SUPER HARD: Caelum."

Nations and nation changes (->) below:

Vanheim
Helheim -> Jotunheim
Caelum
Ulm
Marverni -> Man (some would prefer Pangea, or Eriu, probably)
Oceania
Sauromatia -> C'tis (was moved to a swamp!)
Ermor
Agartha
Arcoscephale
C'tis -> Mictlan
Kailasa -> Bandar Log

Renaming of provinces was done to reflect these changes. I might have missed something. Enjoy!

Hey cool, I was wanting other age versions of this. It's pretty good for a thematic singleplayer game. Any chance of a late age version? ;)

Sure, I will make a LA version the next few days when I have some extra time.

It did not take much effort to do this and I did it originally just to play a SP game myself, but figured that maybe more people liked the original map. I wish there were more maps like this one - especially if they were more balanced for MP.

Good looking and multiplayer balanced seem to be mutually exclusive :) I think it's because good looking maps need decent looking geography which is not generally balanced.

The C'tis starting provinces seem to still have their original names, I've started in Sauromatia and there's a swamps of pythia next to me.

Changes made to province names near C'tis. New version added to OP.

Odd though that you started in Sauromatia - I had already renamed that province to C'tis.

Thanks for doing this, I've thought about doing the same thing a few times but always got bogged dwn in overly elaborate changes.

My only quibble is that thematically Pythium is supposed to follow in the location of Sauromatia.

There's actually an MA version of this map on shrapnel that was used for the Warcry game a while back. its slightly different than this (i played atlantis for example) but if you find it, it will give you another option without any effort

Sure, here it is:

Dawn MA with Eriu

I did a bit of renaming of the province around their capitol. I was not feeling very creative however, so one or two province might have cheesy names.

While making my own variants for this map, I noticed that your map-file has wrong owner for Caelum extra provinces. Also two provinces have same name (129 and 119) Jungle of the Markata.
