Hey guys, just got my turn in. Thanks for thinking of me :-) Sometimes I too have posted a delay, and (despite saying it accepted it), the llamaserver still processes at the old time. I put it down to the will of the gods! :-) Is Frozen Llama still around, or should we be looking to put R'yleh to AI? If he doesn't make this turn, that will be fourn in a row. |

Yes he is still around. His profile said he was here two days ago. Just doesn't have the good manners to say he is no longer interested in this game. |

Meh. Unfortunate. Is R'yleh still viable, or is this AI time? I am enjoying watching the Machake - Agartha dance, BTW. This is how endgames are supposed to be - bloody, protracted, and with sudden reverses. :-) |

R'yleh looks pretty bad from the score graphs but I'm not quite sure. |

Well, R'lyeh pulled a Machaka (with me playing the part of Ermor) and chased off one of my armies when I tried to sack his capital; so he's still got some fight left. He also had a large, expensive force of Illithids out around the Ermorian coast as of three or four turns ago, though I have know idea whether it's still lurking in the depths and, if so, where it is. If Frozen Llama were to jump back in, he could still cause some mischief, though I can confidently say his days are numbered. However, since his remaining assets likely consist of one capital full of mages (all his troops therein are dead), one invasion force and 4 provinces (+/- 1), having him go AI wouldn't be that bad. I applaud HoleyDooley for sticking it out as Machaka; the game is better and more entertaining because of it. I don't think we can expect the same of Frozen Llama, so I vote we set R'lyeh as AI. |

Being a complete noob for this game, like the others I started around the same time, I have leaned a lot. The last ditch battles against Ermor were classics as not only did I fight of his 650 horde but learned a lot about using magic in battles. I am a much better player now, though my magic use still needs a LOT of improvement. Besides, being a pain in the arse to the leading nations is always a bit of fun. And isn't that why we play the game, for a bit of fun. |

Your pretender build struck me as a bit wierd, you've got a great sage with level 4 in 4 paths, but you've already got access to most of those paths on your mages. Normally rainbow pretenders have a greater range of paths at lower levels for site searching. |

Is the four to trigger the minor bless for each of those magic paths? Just a thought. |

That or to make for one heck of a thorough manual site searcher. |

Admiral I couldn't agree more. Like I said I was very noobish when I started this game. I am an old fart and HATE playing against the AI. Thus I had relatively small experience against the AI coming into my early MP games. Happy to have my arse handed to me and learn in the process...lol. |

It is. Maybe that was my main thought, however, the real power long term in this game is magic. I would definately have a very different pretender in the future I actually like the level 4 paths for the light bless but yes, they need to be different to the paths i already had access to in general. I find that site searching become redundant after a while because your pretender becomes the target of remote spells. I have worked out that spell site searching is the way to go. |

I'm basically the same, although I think I have a few more games under my belt than you do. I struggle to find either the time or the motivation to play against the AI. Not sure why that is, but whatever - I guess stabbing real people is just more satisfying :-) |
