Jimbo, His units ALL, repeat ALL, have one round ammo of Lightening strike. Then they fly on their wings and hit you first, the few who are remaining standing that is. The battle is over round two. Thank you ball boys and linesman. Just start a practice game as his nation, any Pretender build and them check out his troops, its laughable when I look at what I can build. As I said, I have checked out no other nations other than mine and his. I know mine has no chance whatsoever. Maybe your nation also has a wonder weapon to fight him, I don't know. |

Just as a note, there's nothing preventing you from peeking at the other nations in the mod. It's technically unpreventable so it's allowed. Also the Tengus do definitely need a nerf. Not sure if bumping the gold cost from 15 to 20 is enough or if the lightning strike just simply needs to just go. Having your whole army send 9an damage barrage of prec 11 stuff on the first turn of combat is pretty retarded and I'm ashamed I did not think of that before. Oh well, if nothing else, there are 3 tengu nations in the game, mine being one of them. And I picked them because they can fly. |

We all signed on for a play test of the mod, to help work out things like balance issues etc. I do fear a bit for my poor sacred pig cavalry against these guys, though! Sounds like electrically cooked bacon will be the order of the day :-) |

Clearly you need to team up if the Tengus worry you so much. It's the way of the world - destroy the frightening and different minority! |

Excellent suggestion. Lets see, its turn 6 and Santigun straddle my capital from two different provinces. I have zero chance of beating, nay, wrong word, harming is more suited, either of his two armies separately, let alone should they combine and hit my capital next turn. Not too worry, I have just encountered the Okamiken, captained by Elmokki, on the opposite side. As we know these guys are also blessed with the Lightening strike and flying ability. What can I offer the Okamiken as the current political situation currently stands. 1. Quikckly do the impossible and move across to my capital @#33 and risk your troops against your kin and save my bacon, or 2. You can massacre my troops next to you and gain as much territory as quickly as possible before your kin does. The choice I leave to the brave and noble Elmokki. |

My thinking for Tengu is that only sacreds and commanders get lightning, if anyone(and then give the sacreds an extra 5g 5r on top of everything) |

Yeah, there are some problems. Sacreds that get a second form on death still need the correct leadership for the second type. (So elemental dudes die if there is no magical leadership). The Imet sacreds seem a bit overpriced compared to the sacreds of other nations. Especially when the other nations get all kinds of nifty specials on the sacreds. And the Imet ones are just heat 3 heavy inf. |

[Maerlande] Because it was a smart idea. Soyweiser was right. The irc channel: #Dominions on irc.gamesurge.net | |

it's true--the base chassis 20g price on Abysians gets multiplied in ways that make them too expensive by 5-10g. The no correct leadership is half the fun! Mechanical men would be so much scarier if the priests had magic leadership. As is, they only really work in big battles. |

The leadership requirement is not a programming issue, it's an issue of defining the second shapes. It's well possible to implement both forms if someone wants. Sacred pricing probably needs to be taken a look at. I'll see if I can be arsed to implement logging this weekend, that should help making suggestions. |

How so on the sacred pricing? What class of thing needs to be looked at--price and resource costs for magic/exceptional weapons, price increases for filters, base price on chassis algorithm? |

I was looking over your summary. Very few nations seem to prefer Cold. Why? |

Lizards and Abysians like heat, Caelians like cold, that should shift the average towards heat. Other than that, random numbers. |

Friends, enemies and random strangers I have not yet had the opportunity to offend! It is with great sadness that we note that Vilfredo Pareto, the god of Okamiken, was seen eating a ham sandwich. As I am sure you all know, the pig is a sacred animal to the people of Abobele. Our noble pigs ride us into battle, teach our children in institutions of higher learn, and in times of need serve as surrogate wives. Such blatant disrespect from Vilfredo cannot be tolerated! Accordingly, we have launched a crusade against the infidels of Okimaken to teach them some respect (and encourage the uptake of alternative sources of dietary protein). Long live the pig! - Pork Liberation Front, Pretender of Abobele Out of Character: pretty sure those lightning bolts are going to turn my pig riding sacreds into cooked bacon in short order, but hey this is a test game after all so lets throw down and show the world how pigs roll. |
