OP Updated. There will be one final revision after I have the finished getting player confirmations to determine if we'll be doing the POOL rounds or not. I will also be putting up map lists, currently I'm working on some fixed position versions of various maps for the sake of variety. |

That should be quite a plenty work frosted doing. It is very not trivial task to organize something like that. Thanks for efforts! |

So a few players have suggested allowing race re-picks between rounds. I'm open minded to the idea although I'm leaning strongly away from this. I'd like to see versatility be a valuable commodity in a nation pick. That said, I'm open to discussion on the topic if anyone wants to chip in their 2c. |

I say no changing nations between rounds. Stay with what you picked. Il even go so far as to suggest no changing your pretender between rounds. |

Definitely NO to changing nations between rounds. Changing pretender is fine with me. |

I too vote against changing nation choices, but let's keep pretender design, please |

I am definitely against Nations changing. For what concerns Pretenders I have to say that the idea to pick one and use it for the whole tournament is very interesting. In this way players should not be able to design scales and pretender to apply "ad hoc" strategy against the opponent nation (i.e. full cold against Abysia), but while designing the pretender the player has to thing about a way to play effective against everything (i think it adds some kind of challenge to the tournament)... I support the fixed pretender thing (even if I know that I'm probably the only one) |

That makes sense regarding pretender creation. One workaround would be to keep nation selection hidden before the game starts as to not design a pretender specifically against said nation you're to face. Though, I hardly think it would work. |

Sorry, but I don't agree. Pretender design against your opponent IS something that players should be allowed to do. You can simplify it to against abysia = cold, but there's a lot more to it than that and dismissing that part of strategy off-hand decreases the game's challenge and complexity, not increases. There's absolutely nothing wrong with including that particular PLAYER SKILL in a dueling tournament. |

But how can it be handled? If you gave both competitors opportunity to make a free choice of nation before their combat - then they both would be tempted to wait for opponents choice to prepare counter-build (what would be much more effective). Given equal skill, it is a situation where the maker of second turn gains high advantage. |

It's already handled by the current rules! You are locked into your first choice unless it's the same as the opponent's. What exactly is the issue? |
