Small side note with the H8 priest. Ended up using him in conjunction with a handful of H3s boosted to H4 to utterly destroy Ermor as Marignon lol. |

Does anyone know which remote a spells a commander with a shroud and an S9 bless would be protected from, does the twist fate work against Mind Hunt for instance? |

Looks like I may need to fight EA Agartha, with mounds of mind blasters. (As EA Ulm, ouch). Is there any spell or magic item which will make even one person immune? I've considered other strategies, but with EA Ulm's MR, the fact that Mind Blast Never misses means that 50 Ohlms will paralyze about 50 units a turn. If I bring mindless troops, well, my commanders will be mind blasted immediately. Even with magic (and it's fairly early), I can't increase my MR enough to do more than add a turn, maybe, before my troops are mass paralyzed. (Remote attacking the army may be all I can do, but if so, I'm probably toast.) |

Never immunity, other than anything mindless being naturally protected. The typical solution is to get something with high health, mr, and outfit them with a pile of magic resistance gear while buffing up with iron will or antimagic. Something with 22 mr should soak around 30 mind blasts, 26 mr 130 mind blasts, and at the ideal 30 mr some 450 mind blasts. It's bit of a stiff order getting that high mr, but an amulet of antimagic, lead shield, a generic mr buff, on a 18 mr chassi, can get you to 30. Your regular troops should see 35 affected per turn with 50 olms. If you manage to drop an antimagic spell that number should be about halved. A few high mr unit summons to take a few mind blasts can be useful, and especially if you can layer antimagic on top. Blood summons are ideal for this, but even trolls can tip the scales since just about anything this side of animals are less vulnerable to mind blast than Ulm units. It's quite important to remember that your prophet and pretender can get substantial mr boosts when in your dominion, and can do very well as your lightning rod if equipped adequately. |

Chaff. Indie archers, probably. Script them to 'fire archers', and they will shoot at the olms while your front line absolutely annihilates the agarthan front line (they have poor atk, def, and prot). If you have enough mass of troops, the mind blasts won't decimate you fast enough before you annihilate the agarthan force. If you have the time and the care, you could also summon a high hp unit (Bane, Bane Lord, Sleeper, somethin') and cover it in antimagic gear, that would help. With a booster, a S1 smith can cast Antimagic. You should keep Legions of Steel up on your troops, because Agartha likes to use Maws, Earthquakes, and Magma Eruptions. If you have a Fire random, you could cast Fire Resistance on your mans. EDIT: Oh, EA Ulm. Then turn all your forts over to immediate maiden production. The 6r ones. Don't build any mages or anything, just spam archers. They are great at shooting things, and will actually hold their own or defeat most agarthan infantry (except trogs). You should be fine as long as you outnumber the enemy mindblasters 6 to 1. |

You get a very tough S3 mage with damage reflection and 4 mind blast attacks. |

Regen only decreases the chance of getting afflictions when wounded in battle. Edit: Meant decreases but typed the opposite. Bleh. |

Ahah you wish. Welll, commander can, with the Amulet of the Fish. Non commander can be subjected to Gift of Reason to become commander. GoR for amulet of fish is not usually a wise move, but it may sometime work. |
