I understand this, but I still feel this SHOULD be brought up in some way. Maybe contact them privately, if that is possible? (Also, I think Kriss did not mind me sharing some info hidden in the executable about the future nation of Uruk, but I can see how disassembly code is...way more private) |

Updates? Have the developers been informed? Either the game should be changed to fit the manual OR the manual should be changed. Things working SO differently from how they are described is not good in my opinion. EDIT: I ended up sending a PM on Desura to Kristoffer about this. No reply yet, but I hope something will be done (or maybe has already been done) |

Hi, I'm not overly bothered if you inspect the code. As long as no one uses it to cheat I can't see any harm in it. (Apart from more relevant and bothersome bug reports that is )I don't know how the crits work. I assumed that it works as described in the manual, but that was coded for dom1 in the late twentieth century =) I would have guessed that it works as stated in the manual, but with additions to crits for immobilized units as stated earlier in this thread. I didn't read this thread very thoroughly though, since I have no idea what the code says on the matter. I'll have to ask JK. |

The main differences with the manual are that there is no separate roll for a crit - it takes the DRN prot roll. As crits occur on low numbers this means the DRN is low AND Prot is halved, which is why criticals always seem so devastating. The second difference is that fatigue plays a much smaller part. Instead of -1 per 15 fatigue it is a flat -1 if fatigue is over 50, however this is subtracted from every Prot roll, so high fatigue actually lowers protection by 1 aswell as making you take more crits. Not to say this is better or worse than the manual's description, but it is definitely different. |

Can anyone tell me how to rename my commanders during a game (assuming renaming is on). I used to be able to do it in Dom 3 but I cannot remember how and now I don't seem to be able to despite having seemed to test all manner of keyboard short cuts etc. Thanks! |

After you've right clicked on the commander on the map screen (so his screen with his details is up on the screen), click on 'r' I had the same problem remembering when i came back to Dom 4. |

Does anyone know why sometimes Therodos builds castles that can't recruit any of its units? I built a fortress on mountain/farmland and it has no Therodian troops or commanders to recruit. Is this a bug? |

That's because all your land units can only be recruited in coastal forts. |
