How do you kill these things in each era? I play with Summod + Worthy Heroes + Chocolate Thrones on, and any modded nations I'm using. I was on Burnsaber's MA Pythium when I encountered one. I lost over 400 units attacking it and they lost 10. Tips on taking out these thrones? What spells should I go for? I thought a F9 bless would do the trick, but I then realized the fire damage doesn't make the weapon magic; it only adds on magic damage if it hits.... |

I recommend leaving it alone for a good long while. You are probably going to want a good amount of research already up. Regular MA Pythium has several reasonable options to choose from. You might go in with a soul slay communion composed of researchers pulled into combat duty, for instance; just make sure your communion is thoroughly engulfed in chaff while you're getting to work. There aren't many units in this throne that aren't immune, and you'll tear through the non-mindless chaff units very quickly and start hammering the magic leadership. A few thunder wards will make your chaff last longer, and eventually a soul slay will beat the titan's MR. Alternatively, you can frozen heart spam or use other direct damage, but you probably don't have as many of your big mages sitting around as you have nearby researchers. You also have access to assassins, which should take care of the problem if you gear them reasonably. You'll want to get the titan to waste all those starting gems, but after that you should be fine with a storm spool and a water bottle or skull talisman, whatever you have access to. Things like mind hunt and bane venom charms will work eventually, too. Other nations will prefer other methods, but the main thing is that you want a custom counter for this particular throne and a few others, so you don't lose too many resources taking it. |

Just send a single commander with a cheap lightning resist item. Ring of Tamed Lightning, Lightning Rod, whatever. The spring hawks will surround it, protecting it from harm, and be unable to damage it. A single unit with a cheap item won't trigger gem use. After 50 turns, it will try to run and fail due to being surrounded by hawks. After 75 turns, the defenders will try to run. They have nowhere to run to, so they just die instead. Easy-peasy. Provided, anyway, the enemy titan doesn't kill you without gems or lightning damage. I'll let you know in a couple days if this actually works. |

Trust me. I'm a lawyer.

If you have any death access at all, you can send an assassin with a black bow of botulf to feeble mind the titan. You might need to assassinate all the other commanders first (a second assassin, maybe with a skull talisman and scripted to skelespam, should do it). Once the titan is feeble minded, it has no magic leadership and the hawks should autorout. It's pretty slow, so prob. an SP only thing, but this is how I solved a similar problem previously. |

These are all very creative ideas; I lost that game badly (I was bottle-necked by a 400-stack Aphosedel army), but next time I encounter this throne, I'll try these out. Thanks so much, all
