Hi guys, I was thinking about some summoned units for the game usually each path has some options still I want ro know in your experience which ones are good? (I have preference for fire units).

And about wailing lady, how exactly she works?, it's like a Ithilit that damage morale instead of paralize?, or she is "casting" frighting/terror over all troops?

Well, answering a general question like this is difficult, as often the answer is relative. But, about the wailing lady, the wail atack, looking at the dom inspector, a AOE 1 atack that kills anything that fails the MR check, and also causes fear in a AOE 5 around. Very usefull if properly shielded by chaff,as they also got fear 10 and cold aura. It's a force multiplier, as the lictors and knights of the unholy sephulchre.

it's not like mind blast, the objective is not to paralyze (and eventually kill), but to "soul slay" (but soul slay doesnt work on mindless).

As for fire ones, fire elementals in battle are good, and fire snakes do see a lot of use too, as ritual summons. Flame spirits are usefull for kkeping that firebal barrage going, as their encumbrance of 0 lets they cast more spells before fatiguing out. Like abyssian mages, but better at this. But they are a tad expensive at 30 gems, so you may prefer to go with fire snakes, that for 9 gems you receive the minimum of 5, scaling with path for more.

If you want more, say the nation so we can limit the paths and even know if there are nationals summons worth too.

There are no bad summons, they all can be applied in certain circumstances. But some make more standard usage, like

"Pack of wolves - cost-effective patrollers and siege assistants",
"Mound king - cheapest undead ferry helpers",
"Call of Wind - easy to get patrollers and wall defenders - but not wall breakers",
"Trolls - decent chaff, mind blast soakers, Soul Vortex mage guards,
"Fire elementals - effective damage dealers"
etc.

Why call of wind is best used as defender but not wall breaker? a difference in the mechanics or the fact that you could easily increase the defender until the siege stops progressing, while the the atacker will have to fight with the birds? They actually would not be obligated to storm the castle..

Also, on the topic of generic good summons, you summarized very well, so, can you give us more examples?

There was a patch that removed flying bonus from Black Hawks for wall breaking purpose. They still help in breaking walls, but aren't effective doing it because their strength isn't high.

=== CONJURATION ===

Killer Mantis - niche sneaky raiders with magic attack - rare feature. Require magic leadership.

Ogres - standard dump of Earth gems. Moderate chaff;

Wights - elite expensive damage dealers and anti-thugs (wield Bane blades that Decay). Fearful. Enjoy Body Ethereal buff.

Sea Lions - chaff damage dealers for Oceania.

Leogryphs - chaff damage dealers for Pangea.

Call of Wild - time-effective investment to get free wolves (patrollers, wall keepers, distracting chaff in battle), but demands N4 to cast.

Vine men, Vine Ogres - cheap cost-effective chaff, use Vine Crown to summon'em. Poison-immune.

Drakes - they are expensive. Summon only with Dragon Master feature (can be gained from Dragon Staff from Construction 6, Enchantment 8 spell ) unless in emergency;

Bane Lord - standard thug chassis; better than Bane but requires D4 instead of D2 to summon;

Manticore - Ulmish and Pangean summon; flying shock troops. Want buffs.

Sleeper - perfect commander for morale (+3 before any items). Average thug chassis. Leader of magic, undead troops.

Naiad - use it to climb to Nature and Water trees. N1W1 mage empowers to W2, wears Water bracelet, casts Naiad and they have N3W3. It is N4W5 with easy to get boosters - Thistle Mace, Water Bracelet and Robe of Sea.

Naiad warriors - amphibian decently protected with Ave chaff. Lack strength to do damage, just 15.

Earth, Air elementals - decent tramplers. Buff'em.

Water elementals - damage dealers. Buff'em.

Fire snakes - standard dump for Fire gems. Good attack, poison, AOE.

Flame Spirit - use to climb to Fire Magic. Free Fire Wisps.

Great Eagles - for siege and patrol.

Bishop Fish - H3 priests for throne claims/rushes.

Troll King, Sea King - use to climb in Water/Earth magic. Decent thug chassis. Regular trolls are chaff.

Hill, Forest giants - use'em to stop tramplers.

Ghosts - elite ethereal fear carriers. Life-drain attack. Buff'em.

Spectre - break to Astral, Earth, Water. Hope for Astral-Earth combination. Decent sneaky thug chassis.

Troll Tribe - commander grants Death access. Trolls are chaff.

Lamias - standard dump for Nature gems. Regeneration, second life, two attacks, second one is AP life-draining attack - very good when buffed.

Mound Fiend - use to climb in Death magic. May reanimate undead, but for 28 death gems it isn't so impressive.

Harvester of Sorrows - flying mobile sneaky cheap thug chassis that poisons earth where it is. Misses some important misc slots.

Wraith Lord - SC chassis. Immortal. Of rare use because it's expensive. Can summon ghosts.

Ivy King - SC chassis. Good at summoning Vine Ogres (innate Ivy Lord ability).

Elemental Royalty - SC chassis, strong mages.

Eater of Dead - marginal hard to kill creature. It's good for being in army that does Gateway or other transportation spell.

Faerie Court - break in Air to get Mass Flight and Fog Warriors.

Tarts - everyone knows tartarians, right?

Abomination - see Eater of Dead, hard to kill creature. It's good for being in army that does Gateway or other transportation spell.

Tarrasque - see EAter of Dead, hard to kill creature. It's good for being in army that does Gateway or other transportation spell.

=== ALTERATION ===

Manifest Vitriol - decent cheap magical Lions, artillery.

=== CONSTRUCTION ===

Corpse Man Construction - standard chaff for Caelum. With Lightning Rod and Storm Spool mage gets 6 zombies per air gem. .

Clockwork Soldiers, Horrors, Mechanical Men - marginal chaff. Resistant to fire, cold.

Consruct Manikin, Mandragora - I said there are no bad summons? I was wrong. These are bad. Maybe can be used as counter-thug or counter-SC gimmick - they have fatigue attacks.

Golem Construction - standard SC chassis. Teleports, inaffected by Life for Life and Leech spells.

Siege Golem - use to break forts.

=== ENCHANTMENT ===

Claymen - regenerating chaff, standard dump for Water gems. Good because of regeneration.

Terracota Army - chaff, standard dump for Fire gems. Fire Snakes are more of offensive utility, Terracota army is to take hits.

Behemoth - expensive trampler. Buff it!

Watcher - patroller that requires rare path to appear. Could be useful for bloodhunting nation, but what bloodhunting nation has A3E1 mages?

Pale Riders - fast fragile damage dealers. Want buffs, but will die anyway with just 7 health. Relatively cheap.

Enliven Statues - tough chaff. Fire cold poison resistance.

Hidden in Foo - marginal ultra-expensive summon. May grant mage of a new path, see details for mages in dom4inspector.

Reanimate Archers - elite anti-thug and anti-SC snipers. They fire with Decay and Decay may kill anyone if MR breaks.

Ziz - rarely used eagle - jack of all trades. A bit crushing walls, a bit patrolling, a bit scaring away enemies with Fear. Buff him in battle. Hard to summon, requires 5 magic paths (D3A2).

Carrion Reanimation - mobile raise of up to one hundred of Soulless. The most economic spell - one gem may create ten zombies. Use them to crush walls or patrol. Or as ultimately weak chaff in battle.

Leviathan - tough trampling soldier with low MR. Good to be in transportation army (Gateway).

Lichcraft - immortal expensive dude with high death D4.

=== THAUMATURGY ===

Telestic animation - immobile priest. Create them if you are undead reanimating nation like Lanka. Or if your dominion is hardly pressed.

Worm that walks - immortal nature mage. Marginal use because of cost and research requirement.

=== Blood magic ===

Imps - cheap easy to get battlefield summon to delay enemies. Recommended. Reinvigorate then to clean fatigue.

Shadow Imp - cheap scout. Use in Early Age that has lack of scouts. Also can be prophetized to reanimate undeads.

Bone Fiends - quick to raise chaff. Scaling with blood.

Spine Devil - average soldier, rarely used because summoned just one per cast.

Fiend - flying damage dealer. Buff'em.

Devil - flying damage dealer. Buff'em. Can be gained using Soul Contract.

Frost Fiend - friend of Niefelheim. Damage dealer enjoying cold. Artillery. Has magic melee attack and defense score near 20 in Cold-3.

Crossbreeding - patrol and siege chaff.

Serpent Fiend - flying damage dealer. Poisons, so can be used vs SCs and thugs.

Storm demon - decent artillery, fires AN bullets. Use massed. Enjoys buffs.

Demon Knight - it's the guy. Fear, high protection, mounted. Really cool for it's cost.

Call Lesser Horror - use only if you know what you are doing.

Dark Vines - decent cheap chaff. Wants buffs. Slow. Extra-high health.

Send Lesser Horror - very good cost-effective raiding spell.

Succubus - very marginal use, it's seduction has to pass two checks to succeed.

Illearh - improved Earth Elementals, tramplers, damage dealers.

Horde from Hell - raiding flying guys. Of medium use.

Ice Devil - enjoys cold, friend of Niefelheim. SC chassis. One of them grants access to Astral.

Father Illearh - great SC chassis, relatively cheap.

Blood Rite - vampires are cool immortal dudes, but better spend slaves for Vamp Lords.

Curse of Blood - one of best summons, immortal D3B3 dude who can summon vampires for free. He has undead leadership and can buff Demons with Blood Rain, Blood Lust and Darkness. Also he is a great anti-SC with flying, Life for Life and Leech possibility and immortality.

Arch Devil - SC chassis, grant fire. Medium usage. One of them grants access to Astral.

Plague of Locusts - SC remote killer - insects are flying and poisonous. Expensive.

Heliophaguses - SC chassis. Majority of them may summon lower demons.

Send Horror - these dudes can destroy unprepared medium-large enemy squads. Heavy raiders. One of good spells.

Demon Lord - SC chassis, strong mages. Perform role similar to Elemental Royalty.

Manifest Vitriol are great for the cost, if you have the somewhat rarish paths. Ethereal, 35ish hp, area effect attack. Yes please.

Manikins Mandragora - These are *not* bad. IIRC mandragoras are 7 attacks per unit. 14 per square. Manikins are 12 attacks per square.

What other summon is going to give you a chance to defeat a high def bless rush - say vanheim or mictlan. Works pretty well on niefle too. Sure they die in droves, but they scale well. And mictlans secondshape is still fatigued when it switches to secondshape.

On the other hand, ever since the nerfs to Horrors, I am much less impressed
