I'm back again. My cousin is level 29 (don't know how relevant this is) and is trying to find ways to strengthen his characters to beat Bahamut. Please help us out.

If you can read this, you are not illiterate. Congratulations! Have a cookie.
Ahh, Bahamut. Well, first of all, hey, welcome to the site, and secondly, while there are people who say taking on Bahamut and other big bads at level 29 is totally do-able, I am not such a person. Well, at least not barring some really great customized strat, and since I don't have any other info besides level 29 (if you actually want a custom strategy, send me the info I list below), I can't help in that respect, but I do have a little I can help out with, I think.

First off, be fully healed. I dunno if you've attempted fighting Bahamut before, but you have to face 2 Ruby Dragons minimum before fighting Bahamut, with no chance to heal beforehand. So, some prep.

Make sure all 3 of your party members have 9999 HP. Since you're only level 29, you may need to use Full-lifes to accomplish this, but it's worth it. If you can't get 9999 HP or you don't have any/enough Full-lifes to do so on all 3 characters, anything that boosts HP as high as possible works well too, like 100 Tornados. Also make sure your strength, Vit and Spr are as high as can be as well, and hopefully you have enough GFs that you have enough to equip most of these stats on all 3 chars. If not, it's not a big deal, focus mainly on HP and Str.

Next, make use of your Elem-Def-J, Elem-Atk-J, and Stat-Atk-J. Bahamut and the Ruby Dragons are/should be weak against ice, so anyone with Elem-Atk should equip 100 Blizzagas (or similar spells if you don't have 100) to that. Since the Ruby Dragons at least use Fire breath, junction 100 Firagas to Elem-Def, as well as 100 Thundagas and 100 Tornados or similar, since Bahamut's Mega Flare is supposed to be Thunder-Wind elemental, supposedly. As for Stat-Atk, you'll want to junction 100 Blinds or, even better, 100 Pains to your attack, since Bahamut is vulnerable to Blind status and either spell will inflict it hopefully with a successful attack, and half of Bahamut's attacks are physical, and should now miss. Only one person needs the Stat-Atk-J (Siren, Carbuncle and/or Cerberus can help here), but try to have as many characters as possible junctioned with the above Elem-Atk&Def spells, since it should make this much easier.

Once this is done, check your spells. You'll want at least a couple Shell and Protect spells since you're rather low-levelled to be able to withstand Bahamut's Mega Flare, so make sure someone in your active party has some. Also, make sure you have a handy supply of Curagas, as well as Full-lifes or Lifes just in case. Regen and Haste spells are also handy, particularly if you're worried, but not necessary. You may also want a couple of Aura spells to induce Limits on characters, but this depends on you, and if you feel like wasting them, so it's your choice.

A note on magic: Bahamut has Flares, so if you don't have 100 for each member and feel comfortable fighting him, use the time to draw as many Flares as possible off him, since Flare magic makes decent junctioning to spells like Str.

You'll want someone to use Shiva often, so make sure she's equipped to one of your active party members. DO NOT use Brothers, Ifrit, or Quezacotl in this battle, since they either miss or heal Bahamut. If you need to use your GFs as "meat shields" to survive, do so, although if you only have a small handful of GFs, this might not be a useful tactic.

Pick a party you like using and understand. Most people would say "use so-and-so's Limit cuz it does this, which will help a lot", but since I don't know your party and characters, I don't feel comfortable saying that. If you have Quistis with Mighty Guard and another useful attack spell, she would be useful, but not necessary. Selphie's "Wall" and "Full-Cure" Limits are good, but again, not necessary. If you have a prefered party, use it. Just know their abilities and what they can do. Try to pick your strongest and highest levelled members, though, since Bahamut will be the same level as your stronger characters, and beating him with a level 8 Selphie, level 11 Irvine and level 29 Squall would probably be a little on the difficult side.

When you actually do all this, SAVE, then head to the place. If you want to avoid battles, don't walk when the pillar glows, but if you do, just deal with the random battles and heal before you touch the pillar. Make sure you're ready, then proceed. Answer "It's not our will to fight", "Never", and "hidden option C" (:P) to proceed to the Bahamut battle, facing 2 Ruby Dragons before that. Scan the second one and make sure that before killing him, your characters are as fully healed as possible. With Ice-attacks and fire-resistance or absorption, this shouldn't be /too/ hard. Now, onto the real battle.

Attack quickly with your Stat-Atk-J character to hopefully blind him, and cast Protect and Shell on all characters (using Aura on Quistis and/or Selphie and accessing their Mighty Guard or Wall skill will work about the same but quicker). If you need Flares, draw them if you feel comfortable, and remember to heal. Use Haste, Regen, or other boosts if you need them, then, when you're ready, start attacking and summoning Shiva. If you boost her and are a decent level with her, she should do 9999 damage to him, or thereabouts. Add on the damage from ice-Elem-Atk and you should be knocking him down decently fast. Keep healing every turn or so, and have your stronger characters attack, and if necessary, don't be afraid to summon a GF on a dying-character to protect them if they need healing, just avoid using Ifrit and Quez at all costs, and know that Brothers won't do any damage.

Keep that up, keep renewing your buffs (Haste, Shell, Protect, Regen) if you feel you need them, and keep attacking, summoning Shiva, and making sure Bahamut is blinded, and you should be fine.

If you need any more help, if this didn't work, or you want to know how to get other GFs, weapons, cards, or other useful things, just lemme know. Congrats on obtaining Bahamut, and g'luck!

[for a customized strat for beating Bahamut or whatever, give me the following info and I'll see what I can do. :)

-each character's level
-each characters weapon
-each characters available (and learned) Limits
-important magics available (ie: Ultima, Meteor, Triple, Full-life, Flare, Holy, etc.), and how many
-important items available (ie: Hero, Hero Trial, Holy War, Holy War Trial, Elixirs, etc.) and how many
-level 7+ cards available that you'd be willing to card-mod
-GFs available, their levels, and important abilities known to each
-any other relevant information you think I'd need

Give me at least a week to work something out, of course, but with this info, and as long as you're willing to possibly level up a bit more and snag some better weapons and GFs, and the like. Lemme know if the basic strat doesn't work first, however. Good luck and lemme know how it goes!]
