I do believe that is the point. ![]() We're supposed to be drawing comparisons between them, finding similarities, that sorta thing. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure Square-Enix wouldn't have given them names that are translatable into the same thing.

I wanna collect ALL KH games but the only ones in my possession are the original KH1 and KH2. I want to get the Final Mix versions as well as Chain Of Memories and Re;Chain of Memories as well as any others that I don't know exist... Frosty... Mind giving me a list of the current ones available? I'd appreciate it, plus it would fit into this topic... Sorta.

Alrighty, I'll see what I can do. As far as I know, right now, it's the following: Kingdom Hearts (for PS2) Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (for GBA) Kingdom Hearts 2 (for PS2) Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories (remade for PS2) and Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days (for DS) Plus there's the Final Mix versions of KH1 and KH2, and Kingdom Hearts: Coded, which is for mobile and likely only out in Japan. And Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep will be out within the next few months, for PSP. As for the game in question (KH: 358/2 Days), I got it earlier today and made it to day 14 (seven days in, so to speak), and while it's vaguely fun to play and the dialogue is rather snappy, the voice acting (at least for Roxas and Axel, who are the few that have had any audio dialogue thus far) is quite awesome, and the music is fantastic, the graphics are rather shoddy (at least in-game), the camera is a biotch to deal with (although there's multiple options to change it, plus in-game you can press select to "fix" it, but it means not being able to, oh, attack or defend while that's happening), and Proud Mode has pretty much laid waste to me (which is a first, since I've always played my KH games on Proud Mode and only ever had a problem against Xaldin at Beast's Castle in KH2. Annnnyway, I'm being quite annoyed because nowhere I've looked does it say if there's any bonuses to playing Proud Mode (usually there's additional cutscenes, etc., after the game ends), so I'm contemplating downgrading my difficulty to Normal just to be able to easily-enough survive the first bits of the game, since levelling up is awkward (you get "panels", which also can include magic, abilities, items, etc., which you then equip [but only a certain number, like, I think, 15 or so to start?], anyway, when you get enough exp, you "gain" these level up panels to equip, and...here, I'll start a new paragraph to explain...) Anyway, yeah, the level up system = kinda whack. Instead of just gaining a level like in the previous games, you get an interchangeable "panel" to equip (which is good cuz you can focus on raising up one character and interchanging these level up or other panels between any character you might wanna choose, specifically in "Mission Mode"), but the downside is you only have a few places to equip these panels to, and you also need space for magic (each "magic" panel you have equipped allows you one use of said spell in each mission, which means you want at least 2-3 equipped, or LOTS of Ethers, which likewise need to be equipped), items (you want at least 3-4 Potions and 1-2 Ethers, which greatly limits what else you can do), abilities (like Dodge Roll, or similar abilities...without them equipped, you can't use em in battle), and random bonuses, like the previously stated level up panels, and ones that change/enhance your weapon. So, in other words, it looks something like this: You have 15 available slots at least until Day 14 (possibly longer---while this may be /just/ after the "tutorial" bit of the game ends, it's still 7 missions in, and by this point you can have much more than 15 equippable panels to distribute). Right now, I have the following panels: Potion x9 Ether x4 Level Up x1 Fire x4 Dodge Roll x1 Scan x1 Skill Gear x1 (this item upgrades your weapon, changing its name and capabilities--without this or a similar panel equipped, you're running around with your initial, and crappy, weapon) So, already with just the first three types of panels (potion/ether/lvup), you have 14 panels to place in 15 slots. Obviously, we've got some issues. So, you can only take so many of each, and have to plan accordingly. Right now I've got my four Fire spells, 5 Potions (I'm playing Proud mode, dying is a bit too easy), two Ethers, and then the Scan, Level Up, Dodge Roll, and Skill Gear equipped, making up my 15 slots. However, once I level up again (I'm midway there already), I'll have to replace something on my list (likely either one of my Potions or Scan..although I'm just realizing now Scan probably allows me to see how much HP an enemy has left and is actually really useful...), so yeah, therein lies the dilemma this system has. I'm sure it'll get easier to deal with as things go, but still, it's a little worrisome how awkwardly its set up. I get you need to balance it, but um, Proud Mode + 1-hit practically KOs + only 4 Potions per mission + typically at least 5-10 enemies per mission = not a very good scenario. Since I dunno if there's a point to me suffering through Proud Mode (I either need to brush up on my KH-battle system OR my skills using my DS, since I've been using my PSP to play Dissidia the last month+ and the buttons have me confused atm), I might just repeatedly lose battles until it suggests I try normal mode, and stick with that. If I can choose a new Mode come New Game+ mode, then I might attempt Proud, but till then, yeah, it's a little bit crazy when one bolt of lightning can take out half your HP. o____O Um, besides not liking the "equip" system so much and not liking the battles cuz I'm barely surviving them (which is probably more Proud mode and my prolonged disuse of my DS and KH games in particular), I do like it so far. Music rocks, dialogue rocks and is quite snappy, especially Axel, Larxene, Demyx (I <3 Demy so ...can I "accidentally" push Larxene off of Castle Oblivion for calling him useless? ..no? What, she dies by Day 27 anyway? ...I can wait. ...wait, Zexion, my third face [aside for Demy and Axel] dies then too? NoOOOOooOOO!!!! ...:P ), the plot seems relatively solid so far (yes I haven't made it that far, but meh), and they've made it quite easy to get into. Even if you haven't played a KH game, each char gets an intro during the opening "movie" (which is just a compilation of scenes from either KH2 or Re:CoM showcasing whichever Org member it is) set to Sanctuary (ie: the KH2 theme) by Hikari. That, coupled with the fact that the early missions pair you with one of the other Org members (in this case, where I've gotten, the ones that die earliest (ie: are in Chain of Memories and are subsequently killed), Larxene, Marluxia, Zexion, Vexen, and Lexaeus.) ..Plus Axel, of course, his fiery awesomeness ..and by that I mean is a partner for you, not that he dies. Oh looks at all the SPOILERS IN THIS PARAGRAPH! OMG! ...I beg the forgiveness of anyone who didn't wanna know that EVERYONE IN ORGANIZATION XIII DIES! :O ...I'm going to be killed in the most brutal way possible, aren't I?Anyway, from my under 3 hrs of gameplay, I am tentatively giving the game an 8/10, right now the only major issues I have are the "Panel" system (which likely works itself out later on as you get more panels that allow better things or multi-equips, as well as more slots to place these panels into), and the whole retarded difficulty of Proud Mode (I loathe the concept of having to Dodge or run or face insta-death...I kinda dislike dying, it happens so infrequently in most games I play cuz I'm so uber-levelled that it annoys me to no end when it does happen), but yeah, I predict each will work themselves out, and I'll probably settle with a 9/10 rating. Just being able to play as any Org member (plus unlockables like ---S-o-r-a--- ---R-i-k-u---, and others of the same) is pretty awesome, at least in Mission Mode (I played as Demyx...unfortunately, his sitar makes a fairly crap weapon, or I should have been multiple levels higher, cuz it took forever [and 4 Potions] to beat the initial mission...tear), so that, paired with a multiplayer mode (up to four friends with DSes and copies of KH:358/2 Days can play missions together/against one another), and the so far vastly expansive Story Mode (each day seems, so far, to have its own mission, and then as the game plays on, each series of days has a few missions to complete, numbering 93 infinitely replayable missions total. So if you haven't gotten it, have a Gameboy DS and an extra 40 bucks (or less, I believe I paid 63 dollars for the game, the guide, and the 3 dollar warranty, and since pretty much all the rest of you reading this are American and I am Canadian and paid for my game using, gasp, Canadian dollars, it'll likely be slightly cheaper [hopefully... o_O ] for you guys), go check it out. It seems like fun, and fills in the gaps between the time Roxas came to exist and when he ceased. Plus it has more Axel, Demyx and Zexion goodness. What more do you need...?! =D

NEW NEWS FOR RELEASE DATES ON VARIOUS GAMES! March 9th seems to be the official release date for Final Fantasy XIII outside of Japan, although right now GameFaqs' Data section only lists that date for Europe, and North America still is listed under Q2 2010. So, will we be getting it a little before those in Europe, the same time, or a little later? Place bets now, and if you haven't yet bought a PS3 (or an X-Box360, although if you're also gonna want to play FFVersusXIII, you can only play that on PS3 so might as well make your gaming worthwhile and think ahead), like me, than we should all be thinkin' of how to get one before March. ![]() Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep is out in Japan on January 9th, 2010, so we can likely expect it over here (despite it not listing a North American release at all---this is the game that was likely previewed in the Secret Ending of KH2, they can't NOT release it overseas, it'd be pointless) sometime before August next year, hopefully. Possibly as soon as April. We'll just have to wait and see. Final Fantasy Gaiden: 4 Warriors of Light came out in Japan at the end of October this year, so there's a possibility that they might release it internationally, but I wouldn't expect it until at least March or so 2010, I'd think. It seems to have gotten decent reviews, but a lot of people don't like the gameplay, it seems, and no one as yet has made any kind of guide or walkthrough for it, so...yeah. Take that to mean whatever you want. In Final Fantasy Versus XIII news, still nothing on a release date anywhere (supposedly it'll be until the next E3 before we see or hear anything new about it *sigh*), so yeah. There were rumours floating around that Timbaland would be producing the OST for the game, but that seems to be nothing but rumour at the moment, so yeah. That said, it's been more-or-less confirmed that the theme song(s) for FF13 will be done by Leona Lewis outside of Japan. As for Final Fantasy XIV, again, nothing yet on release dates, but the game is shaping up to be mostly similar to its MMO predescesor, FF11, except perhaps more "friendly"...and possibly WoW-like. I don't have much interest in this (although I'm angry they wasted one of my favourite numbers, 14, on an online piece of crap title), so unless people specfically want info on it, I'll likely only mention when it's being planned for release or whatever, and not keep mindlessly updating otherwise, since yeah, I'm likely not going to play it when it comes out. ![]() And lastly, again, no new release date news for Final Fantasy Agito XIII, and like FFVersus13, looks like it'll be awhile before we get any more actual news. So..blah. Anyway, more info later when I know more. Good luck, all ye readers, and good night! ...or, alternately, good afternoon, since it's only 1:30PM here. o_O |

Wow, I need to update this more often x__X It's been over, what, 3 months? Ouch. Not that there's much new to report. But I'll report it anyway. ![]() Kingdom Hearts - Birth by Sleep The PSP edition of the two new KH series games released lately (the other, KH: 358/2 Days, was released in September for DS, if you don't have it, go check it out) has a semi-confirmed release date in North America for Q3 (or Summer/Fall, I believe), 2010. So we can hopefully expect it here between July and September, with any luck. This is good news, since previous to this, there was no confirmation the game would be headed over here, although since it is a KH game, and the game the teaser for KH2 hinted at, it's not too surprising. The game stars Terra, Ven, and Aqua, whose names link them to Riku, Sora, and Kairi, respectively. Ven looks remarkably similar to Roxas, and Aqua to Xion, although what this means for the series is very mysterious...unless you read spoilers o__O Anyway, for reference, the game takes place I believe a decade-ish previous to the events of Kingdom Hearts 1, and we should see the birth of Organization XIII, "Ansem" 's betrayal, and the destruction of the worlds of Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Cinderella, among others, I'd assume. And no, the dark-haired dude with the glow-y gold eyes is NOT Sora. It might be his dad ( :O ...I totally called it if it's true!), but as a prequel, it's definitely not Sora...unless we're dealing with awkward time parallels, and then...yuck. I will edit in a link to the opening FMV of the game on YouTube (it's out in Japan already, head's up to anyone wanting to avoid spoilers, like me...ish), so feel free to check it out, the video's quite awesome...although they need to get Hikari to write a new song to play the video against. ![]() Final Fantasy Versus XIII The PS3 exclusive game still has no confirmation of release in either Japan or North America. The people at Square-Enix are doing remarkably well keeping the game under wraps. Almost all we know is that the hero is named Noctis (meaning Night), and his "Juliet", if you take the vague Shakespeare theme to mean anything, is Stella (meaning star). Although I don't remember hearing confirmation that these are their official names, so that could just be made up too. We also know the game takes place in the same world/universe at FF13 and FFAgito13, although when in the timeframe, and any specifics, are vague. There also seem to be crystals in the world, Noctis appears to be a "prince", and he has mad telekinetic powers when his hair turns blue. And he has a posse of buddies that like taking road trips. And the whole "Hamlet" theme. ...I believe that's it. Yeah, sad, I know. I WANNA KNOW MORE DAMMIT! TELL US MORE!Final Fantasy XIV Final Fantasy 14 was announced a few months back, despite the fact that the "Fabula Nova Crystallis", or New Tales of the Crystals, which includes FF13, Versus13, and Agito13 were supposed to be the last of the main-series Final Fantasy games for a while, but whatever. Like FF11, FF14 is set to be an MMORPG, taking place in a completely new universe and with no connection to any previous FFs, including 11 (in other words, if you have played FF11, don't expect to be able to copy your character from there into FF14). There is little else confirmed about the game, such as races or jobs, and besides "TBA 2010", there is no release date either in Japan or in North America yet. I shall keep you posted if I do hear any news, but since this is an MMORPG, I have little interest in it, so if you want to know more about this game specifically, ask me to keep an eye on it, otherwise I'll just sporadically update whenever major news comes to light. Also, as far as I can figure, it'll be available on PS3 and PC. Whether it'll come out on other platforms is unknown. Anyway, moving on... Final Fantasy Gaiden: Four Warriors of Light This DS game came out in Japan at the end of October last year, but still no news on a North American release, although there's info online right now saying it might have a Q3 (July/Aug/Sept?) 2010 release in Europe, which would likely coincide with the North American release IF this info is correct. Besides that, the look of the game is distinctly "chibi"-ish, with similarities to the earlier FF games like 1, 2, 3 and 4. Apparently you have jobs and levels, like in FF3 (or at least FF3DS), although most other info for the game is hard to get. I think the best bet with this game is just to wait until it comes out over here, cuz right now, besides a handful of threads, there's almost no info provided, so I can't paint you a very elaborate picture just yet. Sorry. Shall keep you all posted if anyone's interested. ![]() Final Fantasy Agito XIII The PSP entry of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series, like Versus, there's still no release date, and information is limited. We know there's 12 potentially playable characters, although only three are semi-confirmed as playable in the main plot of the game (the others might just be for vs. content, or online stuff). We know they each have their own weapon, and that the boy with the cards can summon Odin, who is thus far the only confirmed summon in the game. Whether or not each character will have their own summon (like it seems to be in 13, where Lightning has Odin, Snow has Shiva, etc...), or if card!boy will be the summoner period, or if each will have access to any summon is still undetermined. Cid makes his return as an FF mainstay, and there appear to be warring factions and at least one school, making the game somewhat similar to Final Fantasy Tactics. Beyond this, and a few short trailer clips, not much else is know yet. Stay tuned, cuz this looks like a game I'll enjoy, so look forward to seeing more when new news surfaces! Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers I don't usually update on games I can't play (I don't own a Wii or an XBox360, so researching for games on those platforms to me is generally pointless), but just as a head's up to anyone interested, this game came out for Wii on Boxing Day 2009 in North America, and earlier this month in Europe and Australia. It has a decent rating (about a 7), so if anyone's interested and own a Wii, you can go check it out for yourself, since it's already out wherever you are. If it's good, lemme know. ![]() Final Fantasy IV: The After Years Like with The Crystal Bearers, I don't usually update on non-PS or DS-style games, so I might have missed poking you all about this game's existence, but if you have a Wii, check out this game, which was out in June last year online, which is more-or-less a sequel for FF4 from the point of view of Cecil and Rosa's son, Ceodore, as well as Rydia, Palom, Porom, and a host of other former FF4 stars. I myself am interested in checking it out, but alas, no Wii for me. It's supposed to be pretty good (7.5ish rating), so if you have a Wii, I suggest trying to nab this as downloadable content while you can. Lemme know what it's like, hm? ![]() and last but nowhere near least... Final Fantasy XIII THIS IS COMING OUT IN TWO WEEKS! That's right, March 9th, 2010, you can pick up your copy of the game if you live in either North America, Europe, or Australia. If you live in Japan, you should already own this, since it came out in mid-December, so shame on you if you haven't already gotten it. OK, with that out of the way, it probably won't be too hard to find information for the game (I can link the trailer(s) or the opening FMV for it if anyone's interested), but I am going to avoid spoiling things for myself (and hopefully for all of you), and be brief. The game focusses on heroine "Lightning", a codename our pink-haired hero picked up, who, along with an ecclectic group of fellow heroes, such as KH2!Seifer-clone Snow, Penelo-clone Vanille, and Lightning's sister Serah, attempt to aid the crystals in a quest that turns them into enemies of Cacoon, their homeland, in their attempts to save Pulse, the world below. If "themes" have anything to do with who the characters are, we can expect to see the following playable heroes: Fang, Hope, Lightning, Sazh, Serah, Snow, and Vanille. Beyond this, it's apparent that summons are connected to specific characters, and have whacked-out transformer powers---Shiva, this time two sisters who can morph into a motorcycle, are linked to Snow, and Odin is linked to Lightning. I believe Vanille and Carbuncle are linked, but I could be wrong. Anyway, that is all for today, since I just killed about an hour looking all this stuff up, which is pathetic, cuz there's not a whole lot of information here anyway. But whatever. ENJOY PEOPLE! ...I must start updating this more often. How about...the third Wednesday of every month? Sounds good. ![]() REMEMBER KIDS! FF13 IN FOURTEEN DAYS! PRE-ORDER YOURS TODAY!

Well, I'm about a week early for my "every third Wednesday" update, but since I missed doing it in March, I suppose it all balances out. Anyone who wants to know more about FF13, please check the appropriate threads down in the FFTalk sections. I've created one for discussion of the game, and another for strategy help, and since neither are really being used, it makes me sad, so if you're interested, go check em out and post some questions or personal feelings on the game or even just spam it up so it looks like it's a popular thread. I'm flexible ![]() As for new news, there really...isn't any. A recap quickly for release dates in North America: Q3 2010 (Fall?) -> Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Final Fantasy Gaiden: 4 Warriors of Light (POSSIBLE RELEASE, nothing confirmed for the latter) TBA 2010 -> Final Fantasy XIV (14) TBA -> Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy Agito XIII Also of potential interest, anyone who bought (or buys) a copy of FF13 for PS3 before the initial batch of games are sold, if you register your game on Square-Enix's members site, you can redeem your code for either a chance at BETA Testing FF14 on PS3, OR you can get a free bonus item when FF14 finally comes out. Those who bought the 360 version and registered got the Palumpolum guard outfit for their 360 avatar. Note that it's only a CHANCE to beta test, so anyone running out to buy a copy of FF13 for PS3 because they wanna play FF14 before anyone else, be aware that it's only a possibility you MIGHT be chosen. So be warned. Also, those of you who've bought recent Square-Enix titles (including, but not limited to, Dissidia, Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers), check out this site: Square-Enix Member's Site , as you can "register" your games through unique game codes and gain points, which accumulate depending on how many you get over the course of the year, and at year's end (in this case, April), you can obtain special free items for getting to or above Bronze tier (you should only really need to buy 2-3 games to achieve Bronze tier, I managed to get to Silver tier with just FF13, Dissidia, KH:358/2 Days, and FFCC:EoT, I believe), so if you're buying the games anyway, it pays to register your bonus codes. I should be getting a shiny desktop calendar from them soon, so um, yay? o_O Anyway, there isn't really much new info out there that isn't just entirely spoilers (such is the result when half of these games are already released in Japan, ie: KH:BbS or FFG:4WoL) or just non-existent (still practically nothing on Versus, Agito, or, really, FF14), so...yeah. If I hear news of release dates, I shall update, otherwise, I'll update this again on May 19th

Oh and Frost, from what I've heard KHBBS (via a psp-hacker site with around 100,000 members, about half of which are looking forward to this game XD) will be released anywhere from august to november. Shouldn't be any sooner. T.T and I really want this one too. I don't have time for gameplay during college.

Just quickly (I'm a week late for my "every third Wednesday" update o_O) Square-Enix released a Final Fantasy-based iPhone/iPod Touch game, Chaos Rings, earlier this month. You choose from one of four eventually unlockable duos to play through a series of scenarios, and the game can be replayed from each of the four perspectives to get different stories and stuff. According to my brother, the game is pretty awesome, and the graphics and music are supposed to be top notch for an iPhone game, so yeah. I have yet to experience it (the next time my brother's down he's supposed to let me check it out...we'll see how that goes), but I just might buy an iPod Touch (my MP3 player, nicknamed Silent Voice, randomly and somewhat [in]conveniently died on me earlier this month and doesn't seem to be auto-life'ing itself back to life ) so I can try it out.In other news, yes, the only other games likely to come out this year are probably the Kingdom Hearts one (Birth by Sleep), and Final Fantasy 14. So if, like me, you need a fix, and you have an iPod Touch or iPhone, check out the app store, type in "Chaos Rings", and maybe check it out. I think it's 12 bucks, so it's up to you Anyway, enjoy, I wanna be asleep now, so adieu and more news when there's actually some news

How....interesting. o__O Damn, why, Squeenix, do you insist on putting these games out smack in the midst of school returning? Even if you brought it out at the end of August like with Dissidia, at least I could book the last week off of work and spend it speed-playing KH:BbS and then once school resumes, play it where/when possible. But noooo. Screw you, Squeenix, screw you. ![]() Ahh, Mr. Nimoy. He was in Fringe. Those episodes were awesome. I want it to be season 3 now.

Wow, it's been a ridiculously long time since I updated this thread May 29th was almost three months ago :OAnnnyway, onto the news. Not sure how in-depth I'll get, but I'll get some shiny new stuff up, anyway. OK, first order of business, Square-Enix has tentatively announced at least two new games (three, really, if you count Chocobo Racing, and possibly more) for the new 3DS console that will eventually be coming out. What's a 3DS, you ask? Why, I'll tell you! ![]() The 3DS will be the next gen Nintendo handheld, succeeding the DS. It's in general the same thing, but will have the potential for 3D-esque gameplay (without any special glasses), and will only be backwards compatible with DS games, unlike the DS, which, besides the recent revamps thereof, are also backwards compatible with GBA games. The console could be released as early as October in Japan, so might hit North America by next summer, possibly earlier. We shall see. Anyway, whatever news I could glean from the three 3DS Square-Enix games of note: -Final Fantasy (the working title for the game in question) is heavily rumoured to be a remake of a previous FF game, with suggestions as wide-ranging as a remake of FF1 to yet ANOTHER remake of FF4, to a remake of FF5 or 6, to "the" remake of FF7, to it being FF15 (I'd say the latter is unlikely...if they are making FF15 so soon, it would likely be for a major system like PS3, X-Box 360, or Wii. It's highly unlikely it'd be for a portable console). It could very easily be a new game, possibly in the Crystal Chronicles or Tactics sub-series, but whatever it is, we're not getting much info as of yet. I'll keep you posted if news does surface as to wtf this game is about -CODENAME: Chocobo Racing 3D seems to be just what it says: a chocobo racing game. Again, it might be a remake of the original, or it could be a sequel. Until more news surfaces, all we know is there's chocobos, they'll be racing, and it'll be in 3D. o___O -Kingdom Hearts 3D likewise has practically no info, with many people surmising it to either be a revamp of Kingdom Hearts 1 (possible but I'd say unlikely), or a side-story splintering off of the main series, with most people thinking it would take place in a dream world while Sora was in the pod between CoM and KH2. Whatever it is about, I for one will play it, so looking forward to seeing it come out. =D Just to summarize, we know pretty much nothing about these three 3DS games, besides working titles, anyway, and there are no release dates as yet, or pretty much info in general. So...yay. o___O Next, continuing the Kingdom Hearts theme, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep will be out IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS! September 7th is the official release date for the North American version of Birth by Sleep, a KH prequel that deals with a time about ten years prior to the events in KH, involving a trio of keyblade warriors, Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, as well as giving backstory to the original members of Organization XIII, among probably many other things. It is a PSP-based game, and has rather awesome ratings (9.0 and 9.2, according to GameFAQS, respectively), so I strongly suggest picking it up. It's also supposed to come in a combo pack with a 3000-level PSP, so if you have yet to buy the console yet, this might be your chance! (Dissidia is on at EBGames for 14 bucks right now, kids. GO. BUY. A. PSP. You will thank me when you see the bazillion games you can play on it) In other KH news, Kingdom Hearts: re:Coded, the DS remake of the mobile game Kingdom Hearts: Coded, will be released in October this year in Japan, and probably come to North America sometime next year. Coded dealt with some issue with Jimminy's Journal that involved being digitized to find out why the Journal was being rewritten and such. As long as it's a full game, this could be fun, plus gives all of us who don't have access to Japanese cell phones the chance to play it, so seems good to me. Like Re:Chain of Memories, which was the PS2 remake of CoM for GBA, expect, I assume, better graphics and possibly some bonus content. Who knows. Regarding Final Fantasy games, now, still no news on release dates for either Final Fantasy Versus XIII or Final Fantasy Agito XIII, for PS3 and PSP respectively. If any news-worthy info comes in, I will try to relay it to you as quickly as possible. Quite looking forward to both these games, so I wish Square-Enix would finish em off already and get them out. The suspense is freaking killing me x___X Final Fantasy XIV (14) Online is also coming out soon, but there's a catch....the PC version will be out on September 30th (Sept 22nd for the Collector's Edition) in North America and most of the rest of the world, but the PS3 version won't be out until March, 2011. Yes, MARCH. That's SIX MONTHS LATER. I was never quite sold on this game until my sister told me she was interested and would play with me, so we figured I'd buy the PS3 version, she'd buy a PC version, and we'd be in each other's parties whenever we were both home and able to play. Now, for our plan to work, I either have to buy a decent gaming PC and a copy of the PC version, or we have to wait almost seven months. Blahhhhhh x_X Anyway, FF14 is an online MMO with pretty epic graphics and is supposedly quite good, if my sources are accurate, and while I'm looking forward to pretty much every other FF game more than this, it'll tide me over, hopefully, until FFVersus13 and the like come out, I suppose. They'd just better have summoners as a playable class, or I'm gonna have to go insane and hurt someone One good piece of news, though, is it seems about 99% likely that if you buy the PC version, create an account/character, then buy the PS3 version when it comes out, you SHOULD be able to play the character you created on the PC version on the PS3 version. This likely only matters to hardcore people like me who plan on buying the PC version to be able to play before next March, but really only want the PS3 version. I might not even buy the PS3 version, but we'll see. It'd be nice, though, if this was the case, so at least I could play the PC version without any qualms.Last, but certainly (probably) not least, we have Final Fantasy: The Four Heroes of Light, a DS game supposedly reminiscent of early FF games. It was released in Japan nearly a year ago, and will be released in North America a day late for my birthday, on October 5th. It's ratings aren't quite that awesome (7.1 on GameFAQS), and there's still practically NO info for it even though it was released at the end of October last year in Japan, but it seems like a cute little game, and is coming out at a convenient time for me (that would be my BIRTHDAY. If you wanna make me happy for life, send me a copy of this, yo! :D), so I'll most likely pick it up. It's for DS, if I didn't say that already. Anyway... I suppose that is it, mes amis. If you want any more specific information for any of these games, lemme know, and I'll see what I can find out. Just don't bother asking about the three 3DS games, since there pretty much IS no info on them yet. x_X Quick summary: KH: Birth by Sleep will be out on September 7th! FF14 will be out in September 30th/22nd, for PC! PS3 version will be out in March x_X FF: Four Warriors of Light will be out on October 5th! No release dates yet for re:Coded, the three 3DS titles, or the other two Fabula Nova Crystalis (ie: FF13) games. More during my monthly update, hopefully sometime in mid-to-late- September. Also, my take on Birth by Sleep, and possibly FF14, then too. Till then, kids!

Okay... I'm usually the one in the KH-KNOW here... XD I'm going to give two descriptions, since some people here seem to not want to read a lot. One shorter and more to-the-point than the other, and the other is longer but it covers more detail... [Short Description] KH-3D is a game for the 3DS, which is a more graphically updated Nintendo Dual-Screen system. It is also supposed to use three-dimensional graphics. It's no re-make, nor a spin-off. It's classified as a MAJOR game in the series. It starts on Destiny Islands. Supposedly Riku disappears in a flash of light, and Riku wakes up in Traverse Town. Everyone will be in their KH1 outfits by the way. After Riku runs around Traverse Town for a little bit, he starts seeing MULTIPLE Soras rain from the sky. Then one of the Soras summon a Keyblade and faces off against a TWILIGHT THORN of all things. Just before they fight... Sora wakes up and finds out the whole thing was a dream. [Longer Description] Kingdom Hearts 3D (tentative title) is a game in the Kingdom Hearts series slated to be released on the recently announced Nintendo 3DS hand-held system. It will connect to Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and Kingdom Hearts coded. Kingdom Hearts 3D will also feature new worlds. The "3D" part of the game's title will not stand for "Three Dimensional," but rather be an abbreviation for the game's subtitle It is known that the game is the next major release in the Kingdom Hearts series , and it will feature both Sora and Riku as playable characters, although using their Kingdom Hearts designs. Utilizing the 3DS's high-spec graphics processing, the game will have graphics that are near on-par with those of the PS2 titles, as well as making use of the system's 3D technology. The trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3D begins with Sora and Riku sitting by a Paopu Tree on Destiny Islands. Riku then disappears in a flash of light. Sora begins to call out for his friend and searches for him around the island. The trailer then displays gameplay at this point, and Sora shown to be able to use the Glide ability. The trailer reverts to another cut-scene, with Riku waking up in Traverse Town. He walks into a courtyard only to be attacked by several Heartless, looking up into the sky to see several unconscious Soras raining down from above in an Awakening-like manner. One lands and summons the Keyblade, fighting off the Heartless while the trailer displays more gameplay. A Soldier-like enemy then rises from the ground, but before Sora has a chance to fight the foe, he snaps awake to find himself sitting next to Kairi near the Paopu Tree. The night sky is shown, and the game's logo appears on the screen at this point. Source; http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/wiki/Kingdom_Hearts_3D (in other words, it's wiki; nothing is definite) |
