Considering how recently they released information regarding the 3DS, and how little time anyone would've had to do anything regarding the prospective game, I tend to highly doubt anything that claims "based on trailers, [this], [this], and [this] happen". I ghosted through some threads on GameFAQS, and the general opinion there is that yeah, a title has been announced, and yeah, the game will have SOMETHING to do with the series in general, but beyond that, a big gaping ??????? If the source(s) were a bit more trustworthy, or they linked to this supposed "trailer" or screenshots thereof, I'd be a bit more inclined to believe it, but by following the link you supplied, I saw no actual sources, and the three "screenshots o' proof-y-ness" could very easily be photoshop'd edits. VERY easily. As in I'm fairly sure they're faked just off the quick glances I gave them. While the information could prove true, I'd seriously take it with a grain of salt myself. I can't see "3D" being too "major an installation in the series", at least to the degree they seem to be hinting at (ie: that it's really KH3), since, yeah, it's a DS game, and only the side-stories thus far (or prequels or whatever you wanna call em) have been on portable systems, and the likelihood of a major sequel being on a portable system, even the new 3DS one, is rather slim. In all honesty, I'm pretty sure 3D, the 3DS FF game, and the 3DS Chocobo Racing game are in the infancy of their creation, if they've even gotten past the "oh look, we named them and announced intentions of making games for this new system, yay for us!" stage. I'd be very, VERY surprised if they've even worked out basic plots for any of them, and find it highly unlikely they'd've had time to get trailers up for them, at least not trailers that'll have anything to do with actual game elements (remember the "secret FMV" for KH2 in KH1 you could watch, and how that video ("Deep Dive") had almost nothing to do with what KH2 was about? ...yeaaaah. THAT'S what happens when you put up teaser vids to games that haven't even been planned out yet) Anyway, I've droned on enough for now, but I'm still gonna say one last time that I'd be surprised if they even have THAT much of KH3D worked out, especially since they're still working, or were still working, on the English version of BbS, and the KH team in general is still working on VersusXIII. Sure, they could have that much worked out already for 3D, but considering the console hasn't hit the market yet, I'd be surprised indeed. Thanks for the potential info, Sora, if it happens to be true. If not, um...thanks for the effort of looking for more info....? o___O |

XD I'm doing what I can. My plans are to grab coded when it comes out on DS (if that rumor is indeed true), as well as grab BBS as soon as possible before spoilers kill it for me. I'm close to finishing the original CoM game... and I still want to get both FM games as well as RE:CoM... Dx so yeah a nice "to-do" list that could cost me in upwards of a grand... Since I also plan to get KH3D when it comes out, so the price is going to majorly be depending on price of the 3DS. Plus I need to get a PS2 and may as well get a PS3 because we all know that IF there is a KH3, it'll be on PS3, and if not... Well I can get FFXIII, right? XD So yeah in upwards of a grand, definitely. I lost all of my PS2 stuff in the move... -.-;; So... PS2 8mb memory card- about 10$, PS2-about 150$ or less now... pS2 dual shock controller- probably about 10$ -.-;; PS3-Around 280$ for 120 gig (unless they've changed the prices on me again). PS3 controller- maybe 30$ at most? FFXIII- Estimating around 50-75$ BBS first month of release, probably around 50$... Nintendo DS charger (also lost in the move); 15-20$ plus shipping (best place is online probably, since it's the brick DS XD) then wait for coded which will probably be 30-50$ I estimate the 3DS to be around 200$ upon release, maybe 300$ depending on graphics, if they actually "rival that of the ps2." The PSP actually manages to exceed the PS2 in some points of graphics, so if the new system does rival PS2 graphics, it wouldn't be too surprising... So adding all of that up... Surprisingly comes to 975$ at most, I think... -.- I'm tired so I'm not double-checking. But that still leaves out KHFM, and KH2FM. Edited by Sora, Aug 31 2010, 02:41 AM.

Re:Coded isn't a rumour, it will be out in just over a month in Japan, and sometime later in North America, likely. Kingdom Hearts 3DS is more of a rumour than anything, but I predict at least something Kingdom Hearts-related will pop up on this new system once it comes out, ditto something FF-y, whether it be a remake of another game or a brand new adventure. In any case, the 3DS is still at least a few months from going on the market overseas, so we have at least six months, I'd think, before having to worry about those. There isn't too much of a difference between KH: Chain of Memories for GBA and KH:Re:CoM for PS2. The whole point of Re:CoM was to give the game PS2-esque graphics and be bundled with KH1 or KH2 for those that didn't have access to the GBA version. I myself have both, and while I haven't finished Re:CoM, it really is mostly just a PS2 upgrade of CoM, possibly with some bonus content if it followed the Japanese Re:CoM in that way. I can double-check if you like, but yeah, it is mostly the same game, just better graphics and somewhat expanded. As for Birth by Sleep, which will be out in THREE DAYS, PEOPLE, best guess for price is between 39 and 47 dollars, since all the "check prices" options listed go from $38.99 to $46.91. I believe I saw that the EBGames price for it was about in the middle at 42 dollars or something, but I could be remembering wrong. In any case, should be under 50 bucks, yes. And if it's even anywhere near as good as the reviews claim, will be well worth the money. Also, while I'm taking the time to reply, I figure I'll ask (and see if anyone at all answers): who here is planning to get Final Fantasy 14, the MMO, when it comes out (either the 22nd of Sept for the PC Collector's Edition, Sept 30 for the regular PC version, or in March for the PS3 version)? I think if any of us FF8Kers are gonna get it, we should work that out sooner over later so we can help one another out and be in the same group or whatever. My sister and I are likely both getting it (I will only be playing it for sure if there's a summoning class that opens up, if not, probably won't waste money buying two copies + a gaming PC for myself), so the more people on here that are gonna get it, the more epic our group can be. So *shrug* I predict no one will read this and I will have to start a new thread for this topic, but hey, a boy can dream, no? Prove me wrong, guys, and reply to that question and make me super happy indeed

I doubt my notebook with a single-core processer, and 1gig RAM could handle a game like ff14 (not that I know a thing about it, just an assumption). Does well on PS1 games though, and some minor MMOs like Runescape.

O.O 3000$? That I know of, there's not a single game out there right now that runs on a PC that requires MORE than 2gigs of RAM and more than a 4-core processor. You can get some computers with both for under 1500$. Though UPGRADING your computer to those needs will cost you 3000$ or more... |

My f-*%^&% PSP is no longer recognizing I have my memory stick in it, which is NOT COOL cuz Birth by Sleep comes out TOMORROW. ...I also forgot to pre-order the game, so I will be pissed if any special crap comes with it since I won't be getting it. FML. Anyway, I am looking very forward to Birth by Sleep (being I can play it....PSP, you better start working properly, cuz I can't afford to buy a new one x_X), and still kinda meh on FF14...although I shall totally...maybe...look into your link, Curse, if I have time/a place to do so in the next couple days. Blah, back up to Ottawa, job hunting for the rest of the week/month. Not cool. Anyway, moving in like, two minutes, so gotta go, much packing still to do. ttfn, kids.

Yeah that can happen if you connect it to the computer and remove it without properly "ejecting" it. XD Just blow in the slot and wipe the memory card. Insert it and see if it works... Try and try again until it works. XD Had the same problem not long ago, and almost panicked. |

The whole story with my PSP is, I dropped it while I was trying to pick it up, and the memory stick's slot-thing popped open, but the memory stick itself didn't fly out. I didn't think much about it (usually when it falls, the UMD disc in it flies off and takes the back panel with it, and the battery pack falls out---this time, thankfully, it didn't), went upstairs, and a few hours later, to kill time, decided to play a little more FF9. Yeah, no, it said "no memory stick inserted in PSP", so it sent me back home, and yeah, I put the memory stick in and out about a half-dozen times, and still nothing. I will try your suggestion, because yeah, I'd really love if it was nothing major, because I /cannot/ really afford to buy a new PSP. And I cannot stay sane if I don't get to play BbS tomorrow. x__X Thanks for the advice, Sora, and I shall letcha know what happens. In any case, I should be playing the new game tomorrow by this time-ish, so I shall let you know my initial thoughts on it too, if you're interested. Till later and enjoy yourselves, all. ...wish my PSP good luck in magickally fixing itself, hm? <3

Yeah chances are I'll be avoiding this place once you get BBS and begin talking about it. I plan on getting Crisis Core and BBS later in the month... I don't want any more BBS spoilers so yeah... Gonna avoid the topic for a bit. XD |

I always forewarn about spoilers, since I hate having things ruined for me too. [Vague-not-even-spoiler-warning-just-in-case] The only thing I will say, is that I do quite enjoy it. I started playing "Critical Mode", which is like, more hardcore than the regular Proud Mode, which they still have, and you get two-hit KO'd by anything. Annoying. As. Hell. Not worth it, I'm in the midst of restarting and choosing Proud Mode. Although fyi to anyone who does the same, choose to NOT skip the tutorial, cuz you miss out on the one whole item that's in the tutorial. The tutorial's only like, 20 minutes tops anyway, so meh. Anyway, replaying now, so byeeeeee! ---end vague-not-even-spoiler--- It is awesome, btw. BUY. IT. NOW. Specifically the "Mystic Silver PSP Bundle with Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep", which I ended up getting cuz, yeah, my other PSP is effed, it won't read memory sticks anymore. So yay shiny new PSP for Frosty. Only 200 dollars + tax (so, 225 bucks), comes with the game, the PSP, a 4 GB memory stick, and a coupon 50 free song downloads. The cheapest I could find a PSP that was bundled with a memory stick, which you need to save anything, is 150 bucks + tax for the "Rockband bundle", which is what I had bought originally, and considering you'd still have to buy the game, which is 40 bucks, and it comes with that shiny coupon and an even shinier PSP (it's silver, yo!), so it's totally worth it, if you don't already have a PSP. Just a suggestion. ![]() OK, NOW I'm replaying. The only thing I hate is lack of walkthroughs. Official guide isn't out until the 21st, and there's only two online ones on GameFAQS, one of which I dislike, so I have ONE guide to hopefully keep me on track, and it's not even updated to the NA version. This could be sucktastic o___O |

Well, it's been a month, let's see what's new, shall we? Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep have all been released, although FF14 thus far is only on PC (PS3 version will be out in March x_X) I have thoroughly enjoyed Birth by Sleep so far, and 4 Heroes of Light is ok, although the lack of online walkthroughs or any information at all on it is a bit disconcerting. I have yet to play or buy FF14, so I can't comment on that. And now, onto news... Final Fantasy 3D and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Still no news on either, which isn't surprising, since the console isn't even out yet. More on these when info becomes available. Kingdom Hearts - Re: Coded Some decently big news here: we have a release date! It will be released in North America on January 11th, 2011, and in Europe on the 14th of January. It released in Japan earlier this week. It also supposedly has a secret movie at the end which teases the next game in the series, much like KH1 teased KH2 and KH2 teased Birth by Sleep. Dissidia: Duodecim Final Fantasy: The sequel to Dissidia should be out sometime next year, and will feature not only the 22 original characters of Dissidia, but also now has confirmation on at least three other (playable?) characters: Lightning from FF13, Kain from FF4, and Tifa from FF7. At the very least the former two are playable, and Tifa at least makes a cameo appearance, and is probably playable as well. The game itself is actual a PREQUEL to the events of Dissidia, as the "conflict" in Dissidia was the 13th "revolution", whereas in Duodecim, they focus on, appropriately, the 12th (duodecim is 12 in Latin). If you remember anything about Dissidia, those that were featured in it were the sole survivors of the 12 revolution, so expect at least a few more familiar faces and worlds. New stages include Sky Fortress Bahamut (from FF12) and Orphan's Cradle (from FF13), as well as an expanded or new Pandemonium (FF2) stage as well. I shall update you on new confirmed characters when they are made known. Final Fantasy Agito XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII: Still no release dates, but new trailers are out for both. Or, whatever you want to call this . I assume we will be learning more about the remaining Fabula Nova Crystallis (ie: FF13-series games) on January 11th, 2011. That will be a good day indeed, based on what I'm reporting in this update. ![]() As always, I shall update this thread when more information comes to light. As well, anyone with questions, either pertaining to yet-to-be-released games listed here, or the three that have come out in the last five weeks, please let me know and I will try to answer your questions. Until then, guys. Getting super psyched about these new games

Just a heads up... I F**KING LOVE CRITICAL MODE! o.o I love a challenge in games and if I can't f**king have a small chance of dying, then there's no point. I completed Ventus's story at about level 35 in 50 hours (this was due to me sitting the game aside, not realizing it was on, and talking to my girlfriend. I could've completed it in about 25-30 otherwise). I do plan to go back upon completion of all stories, get to level 100, complete the entire journal. Et cetera. Then, when that's all done, I'm gonna kick the "mysterious figure's" arse! MWAHAHA! Kinda pissed about BBS;FM being japan-exclusive though, especially since there is a specific "cheat code" that comes with it to unlock the KH1 look for Cloud in the second Dissidia game... |
