Another boring update that nobody reads. ![]() Just to let anyone interested know, Kingdom Hearts Re:coded is out now (or, in the case of Europe, I believe will be out tomorrow), so pick up your copies now for DS. I have only played through about an hr and a half worth of the game, so I`ll give a quick overview/review of it at the end of this post. As for the Fabula Nova Crystallis conference overview I promised for this week, Square-Enix has pushed it back to next week (Jan 18th), so we'll have to wait until then for any new news for FF Versus XIII and Agito XIII. I also haven't heard of anything new regarding Dissidia Duodecim. It's got a Japanese release date for March 3rd, if I haven't said so already, so yeah. Besides that, the only other to-be-released game with a tentative release date is Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection for PSP, which again only has a Japanese release date, for March 24th, 2011. No news on if it's getting a North American/International release at all, but odds are fairly good, since it'd defeat the purpose to revamp both games for PSP only to release it solely in Japan when localization shouldn't be too much of a problem. So, to recap, the following games are those I'm keeping my eye on: -Final Fantasy 3D (for the 3DS) -Kingdom Hearts 3D (for the 3DS) -Final Fantasy Versus XIII (for PS3) -Final Fantasy Agito XIII (for PSP) -Dissidia 012 Duodecim: Final Fantasy (for PSP) -Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection (for PSP) and, of course... -Final Fantasy XIV Online (for PS3) ...which I suppose technically already came out for PC, but I'll keep my eye on the PS3 release. So yeah. Warning! Brief and sketchy review of Kingdom Hearts Re:coded below. Read only if you're ok hearing that the camera sucks and such before you play it yourself OK, if you're still reading, you've been warned. And yes, my biggest issue is the craptastic camera in the game. You need to constantly readjust it to see anything, and in battle, those same buttons are used to "lock on" to targets, which means no camera angle fixing in battle. Which...blows. Besides that, it's a good little game, I suppose. I suggest if you haven't already bought it to wait until the price drops (which it will), since it probably isn't worth the 40 bucks I paid to pre-order it. The shitty little decals weren't worth pre-ordering it either. x_X Hm, let's see. The graphics are ok, with the backgrounds recycled from KH1, although some of the cutscenes, with their cardboard-cut-out heroes, are a bit awkward. The one-sound voice acting (ie: Sora moans or laughs or sighs, and this is supposed to cover 4-10 lines of actual text dialogue) is also fairly blah, although the occasional actual voice acting session does happen, and is nice when it does. Battles are somewhat awkward since you can't readjust the camera, but otherwise I suppose are ok. The plot seems rather thin so far (it was originally a mobile game for Japanese cellphones, you know), but seems ok thus far. My most major qualm is the camera, otherwise, it's been fairly fun so far. Makes me nostalgic and wanna replay KH1, 2, CoM, 358/2 Days, and BbS. Which I just might do instead of play this ...joking, I'll probably finish it eventually, we'll just see when we get to a point I no longer can stand playing. ...did I mention I hate Large Bodies? *gets three hit KO'd by them -_-*--- And that's all for today. Expect overviews of the to-be-revealed info for Versus and Agito XIII when Square-Enix finally gives us some more info on them. Like, hopefully release dates. o___O Anyway, stay awesome and till next week, probably! |

Well, since obviously no one else is gonna reply (I waited to myself in hopes that people would actually look at this thread when it isn't another update by me. ...no luck ), I shall.I suppose I shouldn't be all too surprised Edea is just an alt for Ulti, being as they'd have fairly identical movesets and she wouldn't be as likely as, say, Rinoa to make it into the game as anything but an outfit for someone else. I do foresee a revival of those "OMBob, Ultimecia is... !" threads, though, because of it. Alas. ...I suppose at least this time it's Edea rather than Rin, which at least seems more likely a possibility...?I'm personally kinda meh over Laguna. My sister was vaguely excited (she has no interest in Dissidia, but likes Laguna, so *shrug*), but I'd rather have seen Rin or Zell or Quistis (or ChocoBoy or Adel or...) over Laguna, I think. True, he's the only gunner right now (barring perhaps Sphere-Change-Yuna *sigh* ), but I'd rather another female character over yet another male one...And as for if anyone has a DS besides me, I dunno. I think there might have been a possibility of either Lovin or Sophie having one, although that might just've been me remembering that I suggested a bunch of DS games to them since they were playing the PS1 versions or something. *shrug* Mmm, and I think Sora does (not that I've seen him around lately...did he die? o__O ...*uses Phoenix Down*), since he was, I think, playing the portable KH games with it. Although he might just've had a PSP, I remember something about something being broken or missing or eaten by Adel clones or something. ...I might've made up the Adel clones theory myself. Although it would explain why we haven't seen Sora or most of the members of this site in, like, ever. ! I have discovered the truth! Praise Adel! (or run away from her...whatev, yo)I probably should find out if anyone actually OWNS any of these platforms before I bother to report on new games for them. Blah. ...Cursey, what gaming systems do you have?

Quick update before someone beats me to the punch: Square-Enix announced officially the sequel for FFXIII, and said it should be out "sometime next winter". Which people aren't sure whether to take that as Winter 2011, Winter 2012, or if it's the Japanese, North American, or universal release date they're referring to. More news on that when it happens. Here's hoping it doesn't end up looking like FFX-2, which based on the two pictures is a sad, sad possibility ![]() Also, today is the 18th, so hopefully later today we'll hear some more news related to the Fabula Nova Crystallis, namely some info and hopefully release dates for Versus XIII and Agito XIII. Cross your fingers ![]() I shall be back with more news when I hear it, and once I get back from distributing resumes finally. Later, awesome human-types.

Well, I've been putting off rewriting my latest update for over a week since the original attempt at it failed when I opened a link over top of my attempt at replying, so blah. I don't much feel like writing this again (and am beginning to find it all quite pointless since the only one I know reads this is Curse, who is just as well, if not better, informed than I am), so blah. Enough emo-y-ness, though, on to the recent news! First off, go here: Lots of FF-y Info That link has clips from the newly added trailers for Dissidia: Duodecim, FFVersus XIII, FF13-2, and, I believe, FFTypeZero, the renamed FFAgitoXIII. Plus if you scroll down, you can see some alt costumes for various characters in Duodecim. I think my favourites are the Fighter look for Warrior of Light and Yuna's wedding dress (which she was arguably the prettiest she ever was). So yeah, check all that out. I had other links, but I since closed/lost them since my original attempt, so apologies. Just know that a YouTube search of "trailer" with the game titles below will probably give you whichever trailers you'd wanna see. And now, on to more specific-y news. Dissidia: Duodecim The North American release is scheduled for March 22nd, 2011, with the Japanese one earlier in the month and EU and AU releases probably about the same time as the NA release. So yes, less than two months left, ladies and gents. Go grab a PSP now if you don't have one ![]() In further news, I don't remember if I added this or not, but there are three more semi-confirmed additions to the cast---Yuna from FF10, Gilgamesh from FF5, and Prishe from FF11. Yuna and Prishe are supposedly on the side of Cosmos, and Gilgamesh is likely a Chaos pawn. Aerith has also been confirmed as a guest/support character in the demo, as well as possibly the tutorial of the game, although she might be optional (ie: like Cloud and Lightning's alt outfits, you might need to buy a specific game, or pre-order, or whatever, in order to have her---more details when I figure that out) This now makes the following characters more-or-less confirmed as playable: FF1: Warrior of Light, Garland FF2: Firion, The Emperor FF3: Onion Knight, Cloud of Darkness FF4: Cecil, Kain, Golbez FF5: Bartz, Gilgamesh, Ex-Death FF6: Terra, Kefka FF7: Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth (plus Aerith as support char) FF8: Squall, Laguna, Ultimecia FF9: Zidane, Kuja FF10: Tidus, Yuna, Jecht FF11: Shantotto, Prishe FF12: Vaan, Gabranth FF13: Lightning That makes 30 characters total revealed (not including support characters like Aerith), and could, quite possibly, be all the main playable cast. The rumour is, if the game gets a new level/stage (ie: FF9's Prima Vista, etc...), you don't get an extra character, and vice-versa. As of right now (and assuming the rumours about Gilgamesh and Prishe are correct), this means only FF1, FF2, FF3, FF6, FF9, and FF13 have yet to get extra characters. Whether or not they get them or not, I suppose we'll soon find out. Final Fantasy Versus XIII STILL no release date, but the trailer looks epic, and the names have been revealed for Noctis (the main character)'s team mates, which I did have a link for, but since lost (and sorry, I'm not opening up any new tabs to try to find them again). If you're interested, the GameFAQS board should provide those names fairly easily. I can't remember what, if anything else, was revealed during the Fabula Nova Crystallis conference about this game, but if/when I do, more updates will be made. Edit: Their names are Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis. So yes. Final Fantasy XIII-2 A sequel to FF13 has been announced, and given a tentative release date, either for Winter 2011 or Winter 2012 (depending on which version you want to believe...also, this probably is the Japanese release date, although could be the universal release date range if they release the game as close together worldwide as they're doing with Dissidia Duodecim. Not much has been revealed, besides that Lightning is back, and there's a rumour she's merged with her Eidolon, Odin, to give her the new knight-look she's got goin' on in the trailer. There's also a villainous-looking male character, although whether he's a villain or merely a temporary antagonist before becoming a fellow party member is to be seen. What the game is about is also decidedly vague, although rumour has it they're taking into account the original's shortcomings and adding more towns and more of a storyline. We'll see how it goes. I also want to take the time to bring up a major issue many saw with the original---the "linear hallway" problem. According to sources, the original plot for 13 was significantly longer and more in-depth, but in order to multi-platform the game to X-Box360, entire chunks of the game had to be stripped out in order to fit it onto three discs (any more than 3 and the price for encoding the game outweighs the revenue for multiplatforming it anyway), so you can thank THOSE WHO WANTED IT ELSEWHERE BESIDES JUST PS3 for f#cking up what could've been a much better game. There's no word on whether or not FF13-2 will be multiplatform as well (likewise, there's rumours that Square-Enix might attempt to multiplat Versus XIII), so I'm hoping I speak for everyone when I say I HOPE TO BOB THEY LEAVE THEM BOTH AS PS3 EXCLUSIVE. Trying to multiplat on lesser systems just effs things up for everyone. Edit: Mmm, too late, the sequel is already supposed to be multiplat. Blah ![]() Final Fantasy Agito XIII / Final Fantasy Type Zero / Type-0 Agito XIII has been renamed Type Zero (Type-0), and possibly removed from the Fabula Nova Crystallis universe (ie: the world of FF13 / Pulse and Cocoon), although I haven't read any confirmation that it is no longer part of the FNC. There's a decent possibility it might get its own spin-off series, much in the same way Tactics, Crystal Chronicles, etc. have their own sequels outside of the main series FF titles. Also revealed is that the game will take up two UMD discs, making it quite possibly the most massive PSP game to date (note that none of the Square-Enix games I'm aware of for PSP, like Dissidia, Crisis Core, or War of the Lions, are multi-disc games). There's also a new trailer up, although the only version I could find had no audio and of cr@p quality, so whatev. Hopefully now that it's been a week or so, there should be better quality trailers of it to check out, so do so if you're interested. Mmm, finally, there's a Q2 (Summer?) 2011 tentative release date for it in Japan, so if this is true, we can probably expect in in North America and elsewhere late this year, hopefully, if not sooner. ![]() Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance Besides getting a subtitle (Dream Drop Distance...x_X), no new news on anything related to the potential 3DS titles (Final Fantasy 3D or this one), so yes. Figured I'd update on the title, in any case. Actually, there's supposedly a trailer for this. Will edit when I find it. Likewise, rumour has it that The Hunchback of Notre Dame has a world in it. I shall confirm when I view this supposed trailer. Edit: KH3DS Trailer Trailer is Japanese, but whatever. Watch anyway. Yup, Notre Dame does look like the world at the end of the trailer. Rumour has it this is supposed to take place after KH2, when Riku and Sora are supposed to be doing their Mark of Mastery exams with Yen Sid, although the shown "gameplay" seems to show the duo from about mid-KH1 ages. That said, rumour also has it the stuff in this trailer isn't actually part of the game, and just to "show" how the game will look and work (ie: they recycled their sprites from CoM and haven't actually created their new "looks" yet). So yes. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I suppose we'll see. More new news when I hear it, folks. Someone comment now so I know people actually care that I spent two hours writing and researching this cr@p. Edited by The Frostbound Prince, Jan 28 2011, 11:35 AM.

Well, it's been about a month and a half since my last update, so I suppose it's about time for a new post. Not too much new news to report, but here's what little I've managed to scrounge together based on my eight minutes of researching ![]() Dissidia: Duodecim - Final Fantasy The follow-up/prequel to Dissidia will be out in just under two weeks in North America, Europe and Australia, and was out on the third of March in Japan, which means that very little surprising content is probably left to be learned. Currently, aside from the original characters from the first game, we have confirmed new characters in Lightning, Kain, Tifa, Laguna, Vaan, Yuna, Gilgamesh, Prishe, and Desperado Chaos (who is supposedly a unique-to-Dissidia character modeled on, I shall assume, Chaos). Like Gabranth and Shantotto in the original, you will have to buy Gilgamesh, Prishe and Desperado Chaos (as well as Gabranth and Shantotto) from the PP catalog before you can use them. Gabranth and Shantotto are available from the beginning, I believe, with the remaining three unlocked after certain missions are completed. Aside from the returning original locations, we also have a handful of new battle stages, including Hell's Throne from FFII, Crystal Tower from FFIII, Phantom Train from FFVI, Prima Vista from FFIX, Empryeal Paradox from FFXI, Sky Fortress Bahamut from FFXII, and Orphan's Cradle from FFXIII, as well as, I believe, a new unique stage to Dissidia a la Chaos/Cosmos throne stages in the original. The world map has replaced the old system, and is based on the world of the original Final Fantasy game (ie: FF1). You also supposedly can create your own missions, and they have new story modes, including ones for the Chaos-aligned characters as well. Rumour has it old story modes from the original return, although whether this means we get the Destiny Odysseys and Shade Impulse storylines or something else remains to be seen. As I said before, Aerith will be a confirmed assist character, and I believe can be unlocked in the main game only by completing "Prologus", a downloadable demo for the game that should be released in North America and Europe shortly (although possibly not until the game itself is out). Alt costumes and other bonus DLC will be released periodically, and a few notable ones right now are based on when/where you buy the game: -Alt outfit for Cloud based on his KH outfit is obtained by pre-ordering through Gamestop/EBGames. -Alt outfit for Tifa based on her Amano art is obtained by pre-ordering through Amazon.com. -possibly other alt outfits (Lightning's Aya outfit, Squall's KH outfit, etc...), although their North American/non-Japanese obtainability is still sketchy at best. Will update if I figure it out ![]() Finally, supposing that Prishe, Gilgamesh and Desperado Chaos are the last of the to-be-announced new characters, we can assume that there will probably be no other new characters available, although I suppose there is a tiny chance that we could get some DLC content with some new characters (*crosses fingers for Zell, Locke-or-Celes-or-Sabin-or-Gau, Leon-or-Maria, Balthier-or-Ashe, Hope-or-Fang-or-maybe-Snow, and Beatrix-or-Dagger-or-Freya-or-Quina*) So far, however, it looks fairly grim for getting any additional characters for any yet-unchosen games, which is fairly sucky for lovers of FF6, FF9, and FF13, particularly, although also for FF2, FF1, FF3, and I suppose FF11 and FF12. I personally find it vaguely shocking that you have Prishe from FF11 added, and yet FF6, of all games, with the largest cast of heroes in the main series and arguably the best game in the series still only gets Terra and Kefka. Sigh. Whatever. Here's hoping they have something to shock me later. Although since it's out in Japan already, I'm sure we'd've already heard if there were more characters. ![]() As the game is out in just over a week and a half, I will no longer be updating Duodecim in this thread, besides perhaps a quick overview of my own findings and/or info on Prologus or other DLC content. Any further updates will be dealt with in a to-be-created Duodecim thread, likely in one of the FFTalk boards. Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection This PSP game has a release date now of April 19th in North America, April 21st in Europe, presumably about the same date in Australia (no confirmed date yet), and will be out March 24th in Japan. The game, as the name alludes, collects both FF4 and The After Years, as well as some unique additional content. Seeing as how you can find most of the info for the individual games on their respective boards elsewhere, and I couldn't find what "new" things they're adding (I'm assuming it will be scenes tying the two together, since The After Years takes place at least a decade or so following the first game, I believe), so the release dates will probably suffice for all new info needed. Final Fantasy Type-0 The former Agito XIII game now has a tentative release date for Q2 2011 in Japan, if I haven't mentioned it before. If I learn anything else of any use, I shall update later. The rest of the new games... Besides a tentative release date of Q4 2011 for Final Fantasy XIII-2, none of the remaining games I'm tracking (FFXIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy XIV for PS3, the prospective 3DS Final Fantasy game, and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance) have release dates, nor does there seem to be any actual new content for anything, as far as I can tell. If I hear anything, I'll let you all know. Until we actually get some viable news for the majority of these games, I will only be updating this thread as either release dates and new info are revealed, or if it starts to approach the release date for one of the games with info already out, so you can pre-order/save up some money in advance. Anyway, PRE-ORDER DISSIDIA: DUODECIM IF YOU HAVEN'T FROM EITHER GAMESTOP OR AMAZON TO GET YOUR ALT COSTUME OF CHOICE. The game is only about 32 dollars with tax, so it's much more affordable than most new releases, and should be much more enjoyable than Dissidia was two years ago at about 50 dollars at the time of its release. So rejoice in that much, and mark the date---March 22nd, 2011. Fun times shall be had by all. Or at least me, cuz I pre-ordered it

I own a DS, but the charger was lost well over 2 years ago. It's the original DS. XD Yes, Frost, my first PSP broke... But I got another one day-of-release of the first Dissidia game. Also, I read every single word you type. Someone cares, Frost. Also, if you wanna play Chrono Cross, just hack your PSP. Quite an easy fool-proof process. As for Adel Clones... Now you're gonna have me sleeping with an eye open.As for the new KH3DS game.... Definitely getting a 3DS now. I was worried I might have to get a PSP-2 for Duodecim, but at least it's still on the PSP... I wonder if the Final Mix BBS will be on the original PSP, or if they'll end up waiting for the release of the PSP-2... As for the PSP-2, they've finally decided on a design for it and are sticking with it... It's also called the "Next Generation Portable," touch screens on front and back ( why?), 2 joy sticks, enhanced HD screens and speakers, mic, camera (probably webcam too) built in, and built-in memory. Furthermore it has both forms of USB imputs (I'm assuming flash-drive as alternative storage? D:), and they've dropped the original micro SD cards, and are using a new storage card of sorts, as well as built-in memory (probably 8-16 gigs)... Hopefully they'll finally update the flash program on it so you can watch YouTube videos on it... I mean they're trying to make it into an iPhone... The least they could do is put in a capability iPhones have had since the start.I'd offer to update more on that occasionally, but it's probably been mentioned on this site somewhere (sorry for meh absence), plus Frost is more of the research person than I am. Lastly, I wanna toss in my two cents for Duodecim... I've seen somewhere (not sure if it's true) that Genesis Rhapsodos might make some form of appearance in the game... >.> Also, I wanna say is I kinda hope they do put someone else in Duodecim for the FF6 slot (yeah I know the release is already coming up, but who knows?). I'm hoping for Shadow or Locke, myself... Edited by Sora, Mar 12 2011, 05:02 PM.

[FOR OFFICIAL-ISH NEWS, SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM] So you didn't die an ignominious death. ...I'm not quite sure I'm using ignominious right, but it seems like a word to be used in this situation. Anyway, hurrah for still being alive Also, yay for reading my cr@p ![]() Now, define "hack my PSP". Since I wasn't aware CC was on PSP, nor do I know how to, you know, make PS1 games work on PSP without, you know, buying them off the PSN like I did with FF8 and 9. Anyway, KH:BBS-FM should already be out/on its way in Japan, so I'm assuming, you know, it's for PSP. Might be wrong, but it's not like it matters, cuz the Final Mix versions never hit this side of the Pacific and I don't import/hack/whatever, so it's not a huge deal to me. I love how I'm suddenly "master researcher extraordinaire". I seriously just go to GameFAQS, type in "Final Fantasy" and "Kingdom Hearts", open tabs to each yet-unreleased game, and browse through them for release date info and other random tidbits of info. Which sadly fewer and fewer games are giving up x__X But yeah, if you wanted to share info on the next-gen consoles, feel free, so long as it applies to the topic at hand (ie: FF and KH News). If not, um...maybe make your own link so the whole two shiny mods still on here don't freak out over spam? x___X I /HIGHLY/ doubt Genesis would make it into Duodecim, unless it's in a Selphie-like capacity like in the original Dissidia (ie: as an icon-based information source for how-tos and whatnot). I personally hope no one else in the FF7 series makes it into Dissidia until at LEAST every other game gets their equal share of the glory, but if ANYONE from FF7 deserves to show up, I'd have to cast my vote for Zack---at least he's likable and the hero of his respective game. I'm doubting we're getting any more than the characters already revealed (Lightning, Kain, Tifa, Laguna, Vaan, Yuna, Prishe, Gilgamesh, Desperado Chaos, and the original 22 from Dissidia), although I am still holding out hope for at least an extra representative for FF6, and preferably from FF9 and FF2 as well. I'd be happy if Locke (or Celes, or, although less likely, Sabin and Gau would be equally as awesome) made it in, but like I said earlier, I'd love for any non-Steiner rep from FF9 and would love to see Leon or Maria (or even Leila or...Gareth?) from FF2 show up as well. I personally think every game should've gotten an extra rep, but whatever. Anyway, I have a thread from earlier, "Design Your Own Dissidia Cast" in one of the FF threads, that outlines my top choices for reps from each game, alas, it looks like all that work was for nothing, since odds are pretty good this coming installment of the Dissidia franchise is more-or-less booked. Of course, that doesn't mean we can't expect further entries into the series, so long as Duodecim does well enough. After all, they still have 11 other cycles they can work with, or come up with a future concept that allows them to bring in new/other characters together for a different purpose. Let's face it, the possibilities are pretty endless Plus, if future games come out on PSP2, they'd probably be able to deal with the ever-expanding cast of heroes much more easily. Or at least cram in more characters than previous entries, so yay ![]() --- Dissidia: Duodecim - Prologus / Demo On an official note, just figured I'd let any interested parties know that the "demo" for Duodecim, called Prologus, will be out on the PSN in North America on Tuesday (March 15th). If rumours hold true, the game should be around three dollars to buy, and will, when completed, unlock Aerith as an assist character, amongst possibly other things. I haven't been able to confirm any of that yet, so I'll check back in a few days from now when I've confirmed it for myself. So yes, anyone either wanting a taste of the game a week earlier than its release, OR who want to test the demo out before choosing to buy the real thing, OR who want to reap the in-game benefits of playing the demo, make sure to grab it off the PSN early next week, hm? On a side note, I've recently read that, while adding some new attacks and the like to each of the characters, a few have been scrapped or reworked in order to accomplish this. Bartz, in particular, gets a bunch of new HP and Brave attacks based on the new fellow Cosmos Warriors, but I recently read they scrapped, among other abilities, his Flood HP attack. I dunno if anyone else has played Dissidia, or used Bartz enough to unlock Flood (which is technically Terra's move---I'm assuming she [hopefully] still has Flood herself in Duodecim), but the ability is arguably the best and safest HP attack in the game. When I first started playing Dissidia, when I wasn't forced to play a specific character, I originally mained as Squall, but his voice annoyed me [I f#cking hate Doug Erholtz], and stronger enemies could massacre him quite easily. I switched to Terra briefly when I discovered the awesomeness that is Flood, and then to Bartz when I learned he had access to Flood, and was a bit faster than Terra. The basic idea is that, while standing on the ground, you can literally just press square maniacally and pretty much massacre anyone, so long as they aren't uber evasive or quick. A few enemies are annoying---Onion Knight, Sephiroth, and Kuja specifically---but typically, this strategy is great for plowing through the massive HP stores of tough enemies with little need to risk yourself. If it's true that Bartz doesn't have Flood in Duodecim, I for one am gonna be righteously p!ssed off. Besides a brief time in recent days maining Zidane, Bartz has been the cornerstone of my playstyle since I discovered the relatively fool-proof way to massacre my enemies without, usually, getting massacred myself. If Bartz and, more importantly, Terra don't have Flood anymore, I'm gonna have to completely reinvent how I play the game---which is kinda uncool. I've grown to love Bartz, I'll miss maining as him if I have to use Terra for my strategy or, worse still, need to find a new strategy entirely. Anyway, long story short, I dunno. Between that, and hearing that the file-transfer concept will copy over your characters, levels, abilities, some of the PP shop, and accessory slots buy not actually your inventory, I've been kinda worried about things. And annoyed, since I've still got at least 40 items left to get in the original Dissidia, and it's taken me about 400 hours to get that much of the inventory. Having to spend even more time grabbing every item again in Duodecim? Not that high on my list of things to do. x___X Oh, and the "special item(s)" you get for file transfering? Supposedly a set of Elixirs. Which, while cool in actual FF games, are only trade items in Dissidia, and if you only get ONE, or even one of each, is still not enough to actually trade for anything. At all. So...lame. ..and before anyone says anything, if you do choose to file transfer, you can deselect level and abilities, so in essence you can make the game more difficult for yourself. Although why you'd waste time file transfering if you don't want the levels and abilities you worked for in Dissidia is beyond me... Anyway, again, any new news will be updated when and if I hear it, so don't expect a monthly update or anything unless there's actually something to say. Anyway, I'll check back in within a few days to update you on the Prologus issue and give my musings on the demo. Until then, kiddies.

[scroll down to the very bottom for my topic-relevant news] O.o If you'd like a detailed explanation of how-to info about hacking your PSP, then I'd suggest adding me to MSN (Sora_Of_KHK@live.com). While the process will take about 20 minutes, it does take a small bit of explaining... And basically if you mess up, your PSP will go boom. That said, you can't even do it on a PSP3000 if you're running anything above 6.2. If you are, then don't even worry about it. That said, as far as the "how" goes on Chrono Cross being playable, it's a simple extraction process used in the same sense of emulators. Your computer reads the disk, converts the file to the necessary format, and the game is playable. The problem? Usually you'd need an emulator for playing them... My Custom Firmware is the only one to date (that I'm aware of) that includes the emulator within it (and no need to run the emulator itself). It's also the fastest modified one (it's been modified about 6 times in the past 6 months or so, each mod better than the last, the latest including full PSX game compatibility). You simply select the games like you would others, and play it. Any others would require you to download an emulator to your PSP called POPSLOADER. The saves for them are a bit weird though (the image on all of my PSX saves appears to be some white-haired man that I assume is from Castlevania or something). Anyway, the Custom Firmware itself is a "Lite/Light" Custom Firmware, but will work with any make of PSP (1000, 2000, or 3000). Normally (for 1000/2000) you'd have to crack open your battery, and do a bit of editing to the data on your memory stick, but you don't need to do this with this Custom Firmware... Good thing, too, since there's a fail-safe on the battery that if you break the wrong thing, it's meant to explode. Yes, EXPLODE. I managed to make one, though, out of the battery from my old PSP... Not that it'll do any good since the Pandora Battery isn't compatible with the PSP3000. A lot of games are gonna be weird, though... Well, one example being FF8. I have been playing it a little and (it is the OFFICIAL PSN version converted for the purpose of being distributed to other people) it seems a few of the buttons I remember are different. Now... I never finished FF8 (got to the part in Disk 3 where Rinoa starts going insane) due to mine being (what I believe to be) a used version, but I am pretty sure Triangle was MENU and Circle was RUN/WALK/CANCEL. The buttons are reversed in this version, though... >.> But at least they can be changed in configuration. Anyway, yeah, if you wanna know how to do it all, then add me to your MSN or talk to me on facebook or something (something with an IM). The benefits of applications and being able to play ANY PS1 game (as long as people have them/are willing to convert them for you, which is likely since the site population is well over 120,000). ----------Gaming News (involves KH/FF as well, so it's relevant)---------- PSP designers/developers have announced that they will finally give the PSP the ability to play PS2 games (>.> like KH1/2, FFX/X-2). However, as of right now, it's uncertain if it is for the PSP or the PSP-2, since the lack of secondary joystick and L2/R2 (as well as some that used L3/R3) may prove to be a problem... PS1 classics can use the joystick for L2/R2, since there were only a handful of PS1 games that actually required the joystick to be the only option for movement, but it would be impossible for certain games like KH1/2 that involve total-joystick-dependant-movement. Now I'd assume they'd add some form of update to the game to make it more like KH:BBS, so that there is no need for L2/R2... But that still won't make up for the lack of L3/R3 (though, I only know of a literal handful of games that actually required these buttons, and a few are Tom Clancy/007/military games). If they do make it for the PSP (1), then they will have to make some form of accessory that comes with an extra joystick, and L2/R2 buttons... If they want it to play ALL PS2 GAMES, they will have to add TWO joysticks which are clickable for L3/R3 usage, though I think the ones on the NGP are already clickable and have L3/R3 functionality. I doubt they'd go that far (maybe add an accessory with ONE extra joystick at most). PSPs were never intended to play ALL PSX games, just the ones they could work around without having to change the controls too much and still make the game function. I don't know how they'll do this, but... It may just be for the NGP. They've yet to verify which system it will be for. [Irrelevant statement] However, hacked games tend to be edited by the users that convert them, so that they can be played properly. [end irrelevant statement] Edited by Sora, Mar 13 2011, 09:32 AM.

OK, then, I suppose none of that matters since I have the Mystic Silver PSP that came with Birth By Sleep, which I'm fairly sure is a 3000 level PSP and I'm also certain that I've upgraded it, since you need to in order to run the PSN store. So oh well. Thanks anyway, I guess ![]() As for playing PS2 games, I'm not that surprised, actually, since the PSP is arguably at least as strong a system as the PS2, so playing PS2 games, to me, should be a given. I'll assume they'd probably wait until releasing the PSP2 in order to do that, though, since a) it would be easier to just build the backwards compatibility into the hardware of the PSP2, and b] the new system is due out sometime before year's end, at least in Japan, I hear, so it's not really that long a wait. Did anyone else hear that the PSP2/whatever they're officially calling it is actually gonna be about as strong of a system as a PS3? Now /that/ is hardcore. Can't wait to see how that turns out. I'm quite looking forward to the next gen PSP, myself. The 3DS, less so, but I suppose it might be cool, too. Now if only they'd give release dates for all the games they've had in the works for like, ever, all would be excellent in the world

Well, 6.37 is the newest one. You should check and see if you have 6.2 or 6.37... Mine is a 3000 too~ Anyway, the NGP is graphically as strong as the PS3, yes. The NGP is meant to be quite amazing. I am still not understanding why there is a touch screen on the front and the back though... Maybe because the cam is on the back, but... Wouldn't it have been more simple to just make a more powerful separate Cam accessory like before? <.< There has to be some purpose for it, but right now, I've got no idea... Personally it would bug the s**t outta me because I tend to rest my unused fingers on the UMD door, and well... That'll be where the second screen is on this thing, and... I don't like fingerprints on my screen! >_< By the way, it's planned to have a screen between 6 and 8 inches, making it the biggest handheld screen thus far. I'm all for small and compact for transportable purposes, but I have big hands and fingers... Playing the PSP can be uncomfortable after a while... Hell I always bought the over-sized controllers for PS1 and PS2 for that reason. I am hoping the NGP goes back to a similar design of the controllers, given the size of the handheld. >.> IF it has an 8 inch screen, the damned thing would be about as big as a typical notebook PC... It would probably weigh a good 2-3 pounds, too, at that size. On another note... Dear gawd... That's the SECOND time Frost has followed one of my posts with one shorter than mine. O.o I can't tell if that's good or bad. Are ya fighting off Adel clones while trying to type and can't get as much done, Frosty? D: Edited by Sora, Mar 13 2011, 10:07 PM.

Wow, you're measuring our post lengths and, by comparison, predicting the end of the univarse?! WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?!![]() I am currently in the midst of a nice run in Dissidia (I'm finally picking up most of the items I've been missing, in a not-quite-so-tedious-as-before way), so I shall check what...whatever-y-thing my PSP is sitting at later, maybe. If I remember. ![]() I don't understand the concept of a back-of-the-screen-touch-screen either, so hopefully there actually is a purpose, and/or it's only enabled optionally, cuz I'll be p!ssed if I'm in the midst of fighting some battle, accidentally touch the back touch-screen, and cause a game over for some unforeseen reason. That'd suck. x_X As for what I'm doing, I just really don't have that much to say. At least not on topic, anyway. I used up all my new-newness in my latest info-giving post, so there's not really that much else to bolster these new entries with. Although, I suppose just to needlessly lengthen this, yes, I am "replaying" Dissidia (in the sense of continuing the game I started when I got it, since the game is set up in an epic way that you can literally replay the entire game without actually needing to restart), and while my initial plan was to just replay all the story modes so I'm "caught up" again, so to speak, for when Duodecim comes out in 8/9 days, I'd be good to go. However, I kinda got sidetracked by the huge list of still-missing items and such I had left to get, which was something like 100-120 weapons, armour, accessories, and summons that I still hadn't gotten. So I started by replaying a few story modes to pick up some of the missed DP Prizes, but that got annoying quickly since you pretty much need to maintain max DP throughout each stage, which means winning the DP chances every time, which is tedious as h3ll when you've got things like wall-rushing or critical-hitting or whatnot. Anyway, I got bored with that, and I've been using the Duel Colosseum, Quick Battle, and the Offline Lobby's Ghost Battles to fill out my inventory with the rare equipment I was missing. Now I'm literally down to only needing a handful of items, comparatively speaking, at a mere 34 total weapons, armor, and accessories, and five missing summonstones. What I'm missing now is pretty much achievement-related accessories, four more Lufenian items, and the ultimate weapons for Warrior of Light, Garland, the Emperor, Onion Knight, Cloud of Darkness, Cecil, Golbez, Cloud, Sephiroth, Zidane, Kuja, Tidus, Jecht and Shantotto, plus a couple character's respective Orbs. What's left is obviously gonna be a lot more difficult to get, since I need about six rare-and-hard-to-battlegen-Orbs for pretty much all the characters that don't yet have their ultimate weapons, and I need to actually find characters wearing the Dagger, Lute, Sabre and Vest in the Lufenian set, in hopes that they actually drop it (Lufenian items tend to have a quite-decent drop-rate, it's mostly actually finding an enemy wearing it that's the problem). And the 17 achievements I have yet to master are gonna be annoying to finish too, since most of them are ridiculous. I particularly suck at dodging and blocking, so I'm mostly gonna have to hope that command battle will auto-do-those-things if I wanna actually get the four achievements that depend on doing that a lot. x__X Anyway, I've currently found a not-totally-retarded way of battlegen'ing Orbs off of enemies I'd otherwise never fight. In Quick Battle, I currently have a level 100 Onion Knight (my leeeeeast favourite foe...dodgy, quick, hard-hitting b@stards x__X) in Pandaemonium with Minimal Strength, a Calm behaviour, and Chaos Judgement. Most of the time he just walks up to me and stands there waiting for me to hit him. Significantly less cliff-jump-worthy than he normally is. I've only battlegen'd one of his Orbs so far, but it's one less I need, and if this set up does work, it means I can relatively safely battlegen the needed orbs without worrying about the typically death-inducing suffering that is normally the result of facing level 100 enemies that I typically try to avoid. ...there, long enough? I shall keep people updated---probably in a not-this-thread location---on the topic if anyone cares. Almost finished the retarded item list. Yay me

Meh I wanna complete Dissidia but I can't even figure out how to get past 92% on the prologue... Mainly because of the fact of a critical hit that's needed (I believe it's an item that's needed for completion) and my level is far to high to do it... Anyway uhh... >.> I dunno if I've posted these before, but here is me having fun on Dissidia... I found knocking the Onion Knight through a wall to be quite fun... I dunno if it was a glitch or not... Zidane: Level 99. My gears are still all mid level 70 range... >.> The Ghost Onion Knight was geared with stuff that requred 99 to use I believe. O.o It's one of the more fun fights I've done. I'm not all that great, but I've met the best Zidane player in the US (through the use of XLINK KAI), and learned a few things from observing... Sadly I forget his exact username (FFIX something), but... His videos are always amazing... Mostly dodging, blocking, and annihilating without ever being touched. Also, he HATES Cloud (and probably Sephiroth), and he seems to dislike Squall as well. Edited by Sora, Mar 14 2011, 08:56 AM.
