If you mean "do everything possible in a game", then yes, I am quite the grinder. I like making the most out of things. That, and I'm kinda a closet perfectionist, I /need/ to do everything, and right, which is why games with multiple endings or choice of some kind are my bane---you can't do something perfect the first time if there's 8 different endings and 16 different places where the plot diverges completely. o____O And the PS version is pretty good. I enjoyed it. The portability of the DS version was nice, but since I had already done the annoying multiple-endings thing before (even though I totally don't remember what any of those endings were off-hand), I kinda...avoided it. Although the DS version did introduce some interesting new stuff, like some sorta monster-pet thing you can raise and send through time to do quests and such. *shrug* I like my FF, KH, X-Men Legends, and Chrono series games. Even if I never technically got anywhere in Chrono Cross since the magic system was really effed up and confusing o____O ...that, and my copy was used and the first disc was horrible and would barely let me start a new game. Blahhhhhh ..will have to replay that too, eventually. Gah, too many games, too little life x_X

ha ha so true!!! When I had more time I was a perfectionist in games too X] And Chrono Cross magic system wasn't confusing one bit! I really liked Chrono Cross, everything reminded me of FF 8 in that game >:3 |

-.- yeah the snes version annoyed me somewhat. I rented it. Played it. It was fun, but I "beat it" in like 4 days. -.- too easy for me (though I think my mom may have been playing the thing when I was asleep, my mom is almost 50 and a game addict). I didn't know at the time it had multiple endings though -counts on fingers- I was like... 8? 9? somewhere around there. Was before I ever owned a ps1. I got my ps1 and FF8 at age 10ish. Chrono Cross was fun to me. First disk for the longest time was messed up but I managed to get what I think is close to the end of the game. It's after you go under the sea and come back to the surface. I was already Lynx-surge and there was 2 major fights left at that point, one with some tough guy on an island I just couldn't beat (note I had used a gameshark on it when younger and accidently broke my gameshark disk, and the level system was gamesharked and so was the hp, so I went that far in the game with everyone having 300hp. Somewhere along the lines I met up with Kid again o-o as Lynx-Surge) but yeah at that point I can't get any further. Can't restart due to freezing. I've tried everything. Got close to killing surge-lynx him having only like 100 hp left and then he'd do some special move and kill me X_X What sucks is I have lost all of my ps2/ps1 games somewhere in the passed year I hope the playstation store expands their ps1 classic list. I wanna see Legend of the Dragoon and Chrono Cross/Chrono Trigger on there.Oh and frosty, quick game question for a game addict; there's this rpg stuck in my head that I played MANY years ago... It was an SNES game. Main character had red hair. Name was Maximum or Maxim or something. Have any clue what the game is? |

I had no idea what game you were talking about, but a quick Google search has made it fairly clear the game you're thinking about is either Lufia or Lufia II. Which, amusingly enough, I just read in the FFGaiden: 4 Warriors of Light board that a revamp of Lufia II was out on I guess DS in Japan, and like Gaiden, may or may not be coming to North America eventually...although emphasis was put on the probably not. Hope that helps? As for Chrono Cross, I think I made it to like, the town after the first little minor battle thing. I was in the midst of recruiting the dog or something to join me, I can't remember. Since I bought the game used, the first disc was scratched to hell, so it made starting a new game interesting and I didn't play it long enough to get into it, even though I really wanted to. Perhaps once I finish up with FF13 to my liking, I might set my PS2 back up (brought my TV home over Easter break and left the PS2 at the apartment and the TV at home when I came back up, so right now the PS2 is sitting on a tower of revolving DVD-shelve-things looking all sad, while I'm playing FF13 on my PS3 that's hooked up to the TV in our living room ) and try playing again, but we'll have to see. If any of the FF or KH games come out in Summer rather than the Fall, I might have my hands full. Not to mention I'm about an hour from finishing off Terra in FF9 the last time I played it (around Augustish, I think?), so I'm literally only a few hours from potentially beating the game, so I probably should finish that off before I revive my interests in any other games. Not to mention I have pretty much all my DS and PSP games on the go, if not all my games period. Oy. x_XAnd @ Curse: I shall have to replay CC and check that out. I think to be honest I was scared of how they EXPLAINED the magic system, since quite honestly I never made it far enough to really get a taste for myself. That and the like, two dozen characters, half of which you can't recruit at the same play-through? Hardcore dude, and confusing o____O And I have an essay to do, off to go do it or something and be done. Um, have fun, all? o___O |

Um... *tosses a Holy Water* If it can cure zombies, I'm sure it can't hurt, right? Having a hangover is pretty much like being a zombie, minus the whole desire for brains thing...although I suppose when you wake up with the hangover, some people wish they had the brains NOT to get so drunk. ...but that's a different thing entirely. I'd lend you an Elixir, but those suckers are rare, and I need to keep all of mine in case PuPu shows up. You don't wanna make that dude mad when he begs you for something to drink... |
