My update on Animazement is that I am still looking forward to it, and desperately need to get back on searching for costumes. Unfortunately, there is a good possibility that I will not be able to make it this year. My store is doing their annual inventory around the time that Animazement is happening this year and if they make me work the weekend to finish up...then yeah, no go. No one gets off for inventory. :(

For everyone else, Animazement is the weekend of May 25th-27th this year. Saturday is the biggest day for the event and there is a hotel directly across the street from the convention center.

Here is the website: http://animazement.org/

And this is the location: Click here for google map

Another update:

Since it was on my mind, I spoke to my boss about when inventory was and mentioned that I was wanting that friday off. Unless the company randomly decides to push back the date, I should be able to come Animazement weekend! Ready to get my nerd on.

SO while in Raleigh this weekend I had an idea. Since there are going to be TONS of people at Animazement this year who are into FF, I thought it would be a great opportunity to advertise these forums. We could get little cards made that have the forum address on it. It was discussed earlier about dressing up as our "forum characters" (Goddess, Countess, Prince, so on and so forth), and I still think that is a good idea. We could do that, or just to a FF8 costume, one of the con days and pass out the cards.

Thoughts or suggestions?

I don't like any (or much) current country music, because it has kind of turned to pop, but I do like old country music such as Patsy Cline or Willie or even stuff before that. Have you ever seen the movie O' Brother, Where Art Thou? ? It's one of my favorites but also a good example of great old old country music.

Ah yeah that sounds oldschool. I don't mind the modern country but as you say as long as its not to cheesy. Harder to find though :)

Honestly, a combination of FF8 (or >_> in my case, just general Square characters), your forum character, and your SK character might be kinda cool.

In any case, I could still get away with Anti-Form Sora for all of the above. :P

Edit: If I could go, I'd definitely go all out (no matter the cost)... Black body paint, yellow contacts (they do have full-eye lenses, but not sure how comfy they'd be), and of course a keyblade or two (good ones are 100-300$ though, and the costume itself would be 100-400$ [varies by quality of the costume]) but I'd rather buy it than make it, since I don't exactly have a sewing machine. XD I'd definitely find a better necklace than what comes with the costumes, though. ^o) The hell were they thinking selling it with big cloth necklaces?

Edit 2: I actually found a few that were cheaper...

Costume possibility 1.): http://www.ecrater.com/p/12846536/kingdom-hearts-anti-sora-cosplay

Costume possibility 2.): http://www.ecrater.com/p/12916150/kingdom-hearts-anti-sora-cosplay

Necklace (I'll probably buy this anyway): http://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-Silver-Crown-Necklace/dp/B001JTAAXS

Two wig options (I'd go with the first)

1.) http://www.ecrater.com/p/12266008/kingdom-hearts-ii-sora-spiky

2.) http://www.mostbuying.com/cheap-discount-Kingdom-Hearts-II-Sora-Cosplay-Wig-Short-Wigs-fz01922-online-shopping_g8888.html?pro=gsus

I can't find any of the anti-form shoes, so I'd probably have to go with the wizard form and maybe paint them? They could be fine as-is...

Keyblade choices (as props, cons allow them, but they are crazy expensive, and yes, I know he doesn't have keyblades in anti-form, but I thought it would look cooler, anyway):

Oblivion: http://www.hellocosplay.com/kingdom-hearts-cosplay-sora-black-keyblade-cosplay-prop-p-323.html

Ultima Weapon: http://www.hellocosplay.com/kingdom-hearts-ii-cosplay-weapons-the-ultima-weapon-keyblade-p-2684.html

Contact lense options (not sure which is the best, but probably the first):

2.) http://www.fashion-contactlenses.com/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww.fashion-contactlenses.com%2fcontact-lenses%2fCyvus-Vali.html&WD=yellow&PN=Yellow-Sclera-Lenses.html%23a246#a246

Just saying, if I go, I'd go all-out. :P

I really think it's a good idea. I've been thinking of trying something similar for years but have no clue of how to do it. This sounds like it would be a good way.

Conventions in general would be a good way, though.

There's one here in Kentucky that's pretty good, FYI.

But yeah... Would be a while before I gathered the materials, and honestly I kinda want your opinions on the contacts and such (I've already picked the wig, but I was just showing examples of different things).

The first option you showed for contacts would be the best in my opinion. I think the full contact lenses would be very uncomfortable, and the last option just don't have the look.

I've heard the full ones aren't as bad as normal ones (as far as comfortability, actually). Granted that was from interviews from actors in movies where they had to wear them, so they could've been paid to say it. Still, the first one is a 75% coverage. Normal contacts are about 20-30% eye coverage as they can vary as people do have different sized irises due to age and other reasons (they are rated on frontal-eye-coverage, of course). The full eye ones are actually 80-100 percent (90-100 is where they go back a little beyond the front of the eye, and that is where it sounds like it can get uncomfortable, but it's so if you look left or right, people can't see white). The lenses on this site can be made prescription (not all, just some) as well, plus they last a year (I'd have to pay 70$ for some that last 1-2 months normally and you can't sleep in most of the brands), and are "hand-made." 200-300$ sounds like a fair price.
