For The most part he was finally settled into his new room. It wasn't extravagant but it was perfect for Dom. He didn't mind a little simplicity. In fact he preferred it over some of the extravagance of his former master. Not to say he didn't like to be flashy he just liked to be simple. Enough space for a bed and all his nick-nacks and he was fine. He wouldn't be surprised at all if someone walked in and told him to decorate a little because it was amazingly bland right now. He liked it the way it was for now. So long as Isobel didn't tell him to do otherwise he intended on leaving it the way it was. Obsidian Butterfly would have had something to say about it and would scold him for not embracing more of his heritage. But he was free from that now.
He was lot happier with his life now that he was away from Obsidian Butterfly. No more ridiculous requests or life threatening tasks. Isobel was a lot more tame about these things. In fact short of a few small things she had yet to order him to much of anything. He was generally supportive of her though as she was his master now. Not as Obsidian butterfly had been but as her animal servant. It was a decision made quickly. But he didn't mind. The prospect of being able to enjoy life forever was something he couldn't pass up. Besides it was better then spending ten years every once in a while as a living mummy.
Smiling at his work Dom sighed. He had just finished putting together a small model of a ship. It was a small one that required a lot of work. But he enjoyed the satisfaction of finishing it. It was one of the hobbies he had picked up. He liked the satisfaction he got from finishing what he started so that kept him trying it. As he stared at his work he felt something approach. It was Lady Isobel, of that he was sure. She seemed upset from what he could sense through the marks that bound them together but of what he couldn't tell. Either way he turned in his rolling chair to face the door. " Lady Isobel Is something wrong.? i can't help but feel something is bothering you?" He said out to her as she approached the door which was open. His voice holding its usual sincerity. He didn't like to see a woman troubled so he was genuinely concerned for her

Empty, Jace's room was empty. Not of objects, he had plenty of those, but of him. What had gotten into him? Isobel sat on the edge of his bed, hands folded neatly in her lap. How long had he been gone? A while, but she had not been counting the days. The fight they had, she was thinking back on it now. She was not one for regret, but at that moment she wished she had said something to change his mind. There was nothing she could have done, but she was finding it hard to come to terms with the truth. What he was asking, though, it was too much. Jace wanted her to change, and that was something she simply could not do.
Maverick laid in the corner, whining and nuzzling the ball Jace had left for him. Even the dog missed him. If he wanted to be a stubborn child and walk away from those who cared, then why should Isobel care? Obviously she was not his Master, or he would have listened. No, he would always do as he pleased regardless of those he stepped on in the process. Fine. He could do that. Isobel would be right here when he came back, begging to be forgiven.
Of course, there was more to it. The twins had approached her just the day before. There was to be a party in France, one in which Jace would be attending. Apparently he wanted her there. She had promised her boys she would go, but she was not sure how to deal with it. What if Jace yelled at her again? There was only so much she would take before she gave up on him. Giving up on people seemed to be her specialty. The thought enraged her. Isobel tossed a pillow across the room, knocking over a lamp. Great. Now she was no better than the spoiled child.
She simple could not take it anymore. Isobel stood abruptly, storming out of the room. Maverick raised his head in concern. but stayed where he was. That was fine, she did not want the dog's company at the moment. Instead she would seek out someone else. Reaching down through he bond with her Servant, she saw him, sitting in his room. Why was it so easy for him to be comfortable here, and yet Jace had to make so much trouble? At least she had a go to, and at least this one behaved himself. He appreciated everything Isobel gave to him. How hard was it to appreciate the life she gave them? Nothing was required of them, nothing at all. It was mind boggling that one could be so completely different from the other.
He must have felt her, because just as she stood in the doorway, he spoke. Was it so obvious she was distraught? Domino had a way of knowing things Isobel wished he did not. She was sure it was the marks, their bond, but it still unnerved her. The man made is so terribly difficult to be strong. Her barriers meant nothing if he could see passed them. Still, she kept her resolve. Icy flames held her eyes, tucking away her emotions. All though, even she felt the chilly aura she put off, the air of agitation. Right now she did not need someone to tell her everything would be all right, just someone to tell her she did the right thing. It did not matter if things worked out in the end. She would continue living either way.
Shaking her head in response, Isobel entered the room to stand before him. "I was simply thinking over the request the twins made of me. I was thinking on what I would wear to the party," she lied. It was a terrible lie, but she knew only he would know that. Grasping his hand, she gave it a gentle squeeze and gave the desk a look over. "What is this?" she asked, motioning with her free hand to the model. Releasing his hand, she traced the detail on the model, feigning deep interest.

It really didn't take a psychologist to figure out that something had the lady upset. He didn't even have to really probe their bond to figure out that she was upset and he knew the reason had more or less to do with that little wolf Jace. Isobel seemed to like him a lot and he just up and left. Dom thought it was a little selfish of him not to see how dependent she was on him. And it made him think less of the boy for leaving her like he did. Still it was his life and Dom had no right to interfere. He would just have to be here for Isobel. It was in the job description, There for power base and occasional emotional support. He wasn't even sure she knew that was in the contract. But then it was more of a package deal then anything.
She entered his room and spoke after he called out to her. He gave her his best " i see" smile and let her get away with her obvious lie for a little bit. He grinned when she took his hand. Just the touch between them was enough to keep him happy. He was her animal to call. Sharing touch both made them stronger as a whole and comforted them in a way nothing else could. That connection even before he was bound as her servant was what drove him to do this. It felt good, and he liked it so why not. That was all the justification he needed. He was just that simple a person. If his parents were still around they would have had a huge problem with this. But they weren't and he lived his own way. This was what he wanted.
He smiled lightly as she tried to move the subject of the conversation to his model boat. He understood that she probably didn't want to talk about it but if she didn't get it out sooner or later it could be bad for her. Better to let it out in your own home one people you can trust then to get angry somewhere else and get in trouble. Still he could Humor her for a little while. He was proud of his job on the boat. " Its a scale model of a ship called the " San Angelo" I just finished it an hour ago." He said with a smile demonstrating his pride in his work. He really felt good about finishing it. He wasn't sure she was into his hobbies but he was proud of it either way. He did need to address her problems though so he stood from his chair and moved over to his little fridge he kept and grabbed a bottle of water from within it.
" You know i think you should go with a black dress, Maybe with some blue tinting to go with it. I think that would more then just wow your company in France. I think you would look really good in a dress like that. That is just my opinion though." He said in reference to her statement on not knowing what to wear. He knew that wasn't the real problem but he figured she might actually need help picking a dress. And he was here to help so he offered his opinion as humbly as he could. Taking a small packet of drink mix powder out of a small box he had on top of his mini fridge. It was to add a lemon and strawberry flavor to the water. Mix things up a little. Shaking it and then taking a quick drink he prepared himself for what he feared may not be a pleasant experience and then brought up his courage to try and talk to her about it.
" So are you nervous about the trip? I mean The runaway is gonna be there." Was all he could really say. He wasn't sure if she was aware of his distaste for Jace's decision to leave. He thought he was running away from a problem that didn't need to be fixed. She was who she was and he didn't have the right to try and change her. When he couldn't he ran away. Dom just didn't like the whole deal altogether but again it was never his business so he stayed out of. He just stood by and let it all happen.
