He hadn't slept in days. Not since he saw Strum. The nerves and anxiety were killing him. Strum was out there, and now Cyprus knew where. He had known that his big brother would come home eventually, but he had grown impatient and sought him out instead. Which was fine; both would have had the same result. Cy had missed Strum terribly. He was definitely the most affected when the man had disappeared. But he was back now, and they had so much time to catch up on everything missed. And that was what Cyprus intended to do: catch Strum up on everything. He was going to be sick of the boy by the time everything was said and done, just as it should be.
A second meeting had not been set up, not yet. Which was fine. Cy could wait. Okay, no. That was a lie. He was dying from his impatience. Nothing was more important to him than getting to see Strum again. It must have been at least a billion times by now that he thought about just showing up at Strum’s home again. Or calling him to set something up. Certainly he was a busy man, though? What with being a wolf and the writing and everything. But what could be more important than his baby brother? That was why Cyprus had decided that just showing up would be best. Wouldn’t give Strum time to say no.
Dodge was still devastated by Strum's memory loss, but Cy couldn't have cared less. All that mattered was that Strum was alive and Cyprus knew where to find him. Strum was still Strum deep down, even if he didn’t act like it quite yet. Certainly Cyprus could help him with that. And it was about time he got out of his parents' home, anyway. Now that Strum was back, they never had to be separate again. They could pick up where they had left off five years prior. Except that Strum didn’t know where they had left off. Thank god for Cyprus, right?
Standing in front of the door, Cyprus watched as his ride drove away. No turning back now, was there? Dropping the duffel bag at his feet, Cyprus rang the doorbell. Everything he owned was in that bag. He had made sure to drop himself down to only the essentials before going to see Strum. He didn’t want to take up too much room even though he was sure there was more than enough for him. Cyprus was never one for worldy possession anyway. Plus with his minimum wage job, he didn’t have too many opportunities for building up valuables. Couldn’t even afford a car, where would he get expensive things?
The door opened and the woman he had met before stood there. "Is Strum around?" he asked. "I was hoping to talk to him." Hopefully the bag at his feet made it more than clear what he wanted to talk to his brother about. This was better than talking to his brother, though, because at least this way he couldn’t be turned away. Well, Jessica (that was her name, right?) could have told him no. Laughing slightly, he shrugged and said, "I guess he'll just come home to a surprise, though, huh?" Would she tell him no? Turn him away even though he was Strum’s baby brother? Strum was his world, so he would have this one way or another.
Smiling at the woman in the doorway, Cy lifted his bag over his shoulder and pushed past her. He wandered the home, making his way to where he remember there being stairs. The bedrooms had to be upstairs, right? "I'm sure he wouldn't mind me taking up a guest room. There's certainly enough of them," he explained, hoping she agreed. There were plenty of rooms, too. He hadn’t been on the second floor the first time, but he had assumed it was just as large as the first floor. He had been right, and there was more than enough space for him. Opening the door to a room that looked empty, he dropped his bag in the middle of the floor and asked Jessica, "Does it matter which one I take?" He didn’t want to impose himself any more than he all ready was, which was a lot anyway.
Cyprus continued to give himself a tour of the second floor, simply curious. Despite the size of the home, it seemed mostly empty. Just Strum and his girlfriend. Standing in the doorway of what he could only assume was Strum's bedroom, Cyprus paused. This room was definitely occupied, he could tell from the clothing laying on the floor and the crumpled blankets on the bed. How long had Strum been away? Jessica had probably been sleeping alone in that bed for however long his brother had been absent. How long had Strum been alone before he met Jessica? For the sake of his brother’s happiness, Cy hoped it hadn’t been too long.
Almost without thought, Cy crawled into the bed and snuggled up under the covers. The smallest of tears fell from his eye. He wiped it on the pillow and lay there in silence. Five years had past, but it was over now. Cy never had to be alone again. Despite how hard he fought it, he found himself drifting off to sleep. Just knowing that he now lay in his big brother's bed made him feel safe. And tired. All the sleep he had been losing had finally caught up to him.

No more cookies. It probably shouldn’t have been her first thought, but the last two times she’d decided to make cookies Strums younger brother seemed to magically appear in the driveway. This time however, she sadly noticed that he was not dropped off or accompanied by the other brother. There was even a bag in his hands, as if he planned on staying. Strum was gone for the next few days though, surely he would’ve remembered something as big as his brother coming to stay. Sighing, she shut the oven, and did her best to prepare for whatever reason the young man had for being here unexpectedly.
Opening the door she offered the same warm smile, already stepping back to give him room to come in. Strum wasn’t home, but he couldn’t really leave now without walking and she was not about to leave him outside. “Strum’s actually gone for a few days sweety.” She replied, waiting until he was finally in the house before closing the door. He certainly had no problem barging in and making himself welcome, yet she had a feeling he had been expecting Strum to be here. As to whether or not he would mind Cy being here, well that would depend on the mood he was in when he got home.
Jessica followed him to the guest rooms, “Either guest room is fine, we don’t expect to have anyone else over.” Even if a pack member needed to crash, they had the other room they could use. Family was always welcome, as far as she knew Cy was on good terms with Strum, for all she knew he would be happy his brother was here. However probably not very happy as to why. Which she still had to figure out before he got too cozy.
Looking around she realized she’d let him wander on his own and discovered him, oddly, curled up in their bed. Pausing, she could tell by his body language that at the moment, he missed his brother. She knew what it was like to miss Strum, but not to the extent that he had. While sleeping in their bed would probably make Strum eat the boy, she was going to let him get away with a nap. Not before they talked though, she quietly made her way over and sat on the bed, “You need to tell me why you’re here before I let you sleep, you seem like you want to be here more than a few days.”
