His breath left him when he hit the floor. He took a second to catch it while she Natalya teased him. The elbows in his chest weren’t painful, but the dominant beast in him didn’t like where she’d positioned herself. It gave her too much leverage while leaving him without any for himself. He trusted her, but that didn’t make the paranoia go away.
He settled his hands on her hips, slowly running both of them up until his fingers came to rest on her waist. The warmth of her body beneath her shirt made his stomach tighten. He breathed deep and shut out the feeling. His eyes met hers, but he only held the gaze for a short moment. It was a challenging move, and he didn’t want to tempt her.
Inside he felt the familiar swell of his wolf coming out to play. It needed to be right in the front of his mind and just underneath his skin so it could feel everything he did. It also knew playing could quickly turn to fighting, and it wanted to be ready in case he needed to defend himself.
The wolf gave him a boost of energy, and he used it.
He pushed her sideways off him--thankful she’d moved the coffee table--and jumped quickly to his knees. His wolf wanted the closeness again, and who was he to deny the creature what it wanted? So he reached out and grabbed her thigh, pulling her across the floor and back to him. Her shirt caught on the carpet and pulled up to reveal her stomach. He pressed his hand against the bare skin, both to hold her where she was and to give his wolf the contact it wanted.
“I don’t really like the floor,” he said as he looked down at her. “But you can stay there if you want, I won’t judge.”

Pushing her luck was something Natalya would probably have to stop doing at some point, today however was not going to be that day. How often was she going to get to throw and Ulfric around her living room? Probably not very often, she’d need to make the most of the time she had him here, eventually he’d have to go back to whatever responsibilities he had.
If she were a cat, she’d have purred at the feel of his hands on her skin. Their eyes locked for a moment, what she thought was going to be a challenge but thankfully melted away to nothing. Her eyes slipped shut for a moment at the pleasant rush of warmth from his hands and that was all it took to give him the upper hand.
Shoved sideways, she landed on her side, quickly rolling on her back to keep her eyes on him. The movement caused a small wince as a sting shot up her back, she had to bite her lip as he grabbed her thigh and dragged her across the floor. Natalya had picked a poor place to roll around and now her back was paying the price. It was a wonderful test of her wolfs patience, he wasn’t trying to hurt her after all, her injuries had been her own doing.
Her wolf was instantly distracted as her shirt rode up and he placed his hand on her stomach, as if that would be enough to keep her pinned in place. Well, considering she needed a moment to recover, it was enough. She also didn’t want to push her luck too much, she was playing after all, no reason to make the Ulfric think she was testing his limits.
His comment earned him a middle finger, “You are still technically on the floor, and there are many other places I enjoy more than the floor.” Like her bed, thankfully she managed to keep the comment to herself but her playful little smirk was not something she could hide.
