Here's how it works; I roll two dice, a d10 and a d100. The d100 determines the first digit [ XX-_ ] and the d10 determines the second digit [ __-X ]. Rolling a 000 equals 100. After I roll, we see what number you get, then look to the chart to determine what happens. You can either get a re-roll ONCE. You cannot re-roll 100 Per player, one roll per week. 1-10: You happen upon a dormant facility near a gas giant, and quickly find out it's purpose. [+5 Shipyards] 11-20: A mongoose pops out of your main characters stomach, much to his/her surprise. Chew your food. [Serious Injury/Death] 21-30: You discover an abandoned planet, much of it's structures intact, and some useful bits of tech. [+20 Days Research on select Tech] 31-40: Your fleet mid hyperspacial jump hits a planet. [-100 Ships] 41-50: Your main character finds an ancient text, relating to him/her some secret technique. [+1 Secret skill of users choice] 51-60: An antimatter puma appears in your flagships engine, causing a chain reaction that cripples it for a short period of time. [Flagship repairs require 1 Week, cannot be buffed] 61-70: A benign and intelligent AI finds it way into one of your shipyards, and quickly introduces small changes that benifit the ships being made. [+Armour bonus, either EM, AM, or kinetic buffs] 71-80: A man in a black hat appears, and steals one of your planets. [-1 Planet... Wait, what?] 81-90: Your engineers and scientists make a breakthrough in a field of study. [+1 Tech Project worth 40 Days] 91-99: One of your fleets vanish for a week, but reappear later. [1 Fleet unusable for 1 Week] 100: Riots, anarchy, and chaos ensue as your nation splits apart and a Civil War occurs, neither side willing to see peace. [Nation splits in two, resources etc split wither 50-50 or 60-40. This here is for fun atm, because no way will the admins let this become a game mechanic. I liked this too. Well, glad I don't have to say it, cause you're right, JL, we would NEVER.... But I guess I'll bite, so long as it doesn't affect you in-game. |
