Hello all.

Frame tubes

Posted by JohnTheSparky (Members) at Mar 19 2017, 02:18 PM. 3 comments

Hello, I've got a fugitive 4

At some point I have been led to believe it had a v8 fitted,
Which involved someone butchering the rear frame tubes.

Could someone take a photo of the frame at the back of their fugitive, please
Ideally a fug4, but I imagine a 2 would be helpful if not,

This is what I have at the minute

Posted Image

I'm guessing there is a tube from near the framehead up to the corner around the engine, with possibly a couple of tubes tying into it, then a removable frame under the engine (?)

This is an indication of the care taken in the past!

Thanks

Help with a valuation for insurance claim

Hello all
Last year I bought a sand rail buggy a factory built fugitive.
The engine has the following

1776 CC ENGINE
BUILT ON A NEW FULL FLOW CASE
FORGED COUNTER WEIGHTED 8 DOWL CRANK
LIGHTED AND BLANCED 8 DOWL FLY WHEEL WITH BALANCED KENNEDY RACE CLUTCH
I BEAM BALANCED RODS
CROME MOLLY PUSH RODS
MAHLE PISTONS AND BARRELS
NEW 044 BIG VALVE HEADS
BILLET 1.12 ROCKETS
REMOTE OIL FILTER
REMOTE OIL COOLER WITH SEPERATE ELECTRIC COOLING FAN
DOG HOUSE FAN SHROUD WITH WELDED COOLING FAN
CUSTOM INTAKE MANIFOLD,CUSTOM EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND CUSTOM STAINLESS EXHAUST
OVER SIZE FUEL INJECTORS
CUSTOM TURBO AND DUMP VALVE
CUSTOM ROCKER COVERS WITH BREATHERS AND CUSTOM CATCH TANK
EXTRA LARGE ALLOY HIGH CAPCITY OIL SUMP
DTM RACE FUEL REGUTATOR RACE FUEL PUMP
DTA RACE COIL
STINGER STAND ALONE PROGRAMMABLE ECU
UP RATED FANBELT MUTI VEE PULLY SYSTEM
NEW ALTERNATOR
UPRATED RACE STARTER MOTOR
25 BHP SHOT OF NOS FULL SYSTEM NEVER USED
THE ENGINE WAS RUN IN CORRECTLY ON A DYNO AND RUNS AND DRIVES SPOT ON
THERE IS OTHER STUFF ON/IN THE ENGINE THAT I HAVE MISSED OFF

IRS RANCHO FREE WAY FLYER GEAR BOX
151 bhp before the nos was fitted though it has never actually been fully connected.

I got hot by a third party in December causing substantial damage to the front suspension and chassis.
It has been classed as a category B write off.
Here is where the problem is
The insurance company will not allow me to retain the engine and gearbox.
The offer they have put forward in no way reflects the time and effort put into this vehicle.

However they want me to find evidence of other vehicles to compare. I have drawn a blank as these great old machines are getting very rare indeed. Most I have seen are sadly basket cases in need of serious work nothing like my pristine example.

Does anyone have any ideas or links to other high end fugitives I could send them please?

Best regards Phill

Anybody in need of F33 bodywork?

Posted by rutger (Members) at Jan 20 2017, 10:28 AM. 0 comments

Hi everybody!
I have somebody here in The Netherlands that maybe wants to make copys from my F33 bodywork. Is there somebody interested in a copy?

He says he will take the cost for the mould himself because he wants to have a bodyset himself and can make some more. He is thinking around 1200euro per set. This will be: the front clip, 2 sidepots, engine cover.

Let me know and I will discuss it with him what is possible.

Island Fugitive

Well it's a bit quiet in here but thought I'd post up anyway.
I'm down on the IOW and through this forum I discovered another Fug on the island (The General on here), made contact and bought mine the next day! A non-runner, but 230 miles ago it had it's one and only MOT. Never been taxed as far as I can tell. 1600 VW with a big bore kit of some description

This is it on pick up day back in July
Posted Image
I discovered a few things that need attention, ...well ok everything!
Done the front brakes and ball joints etc, replaced the seat and steering column with MX5 ones, ripped out all the electrics

Posted Image

and re built them,

Posted Image

now changing them all again as I decided to use the MX5 stalks.

Posted Image

Had some issues with the engine but the one that kept me guessing was the crappy-but-new HT leads. When I replaced those the engine ran much better.

The plan at the moment is to replace most things this Winter ready for Summer fun in March. Then next winter I will be doing an IRS conversion and swapping the engine for a 1.8 VVT MX5 one I have, not sure if I will put the super charger on it or not...

A more detailed re-build log is on the Baja Forum but I'll update here so If you reading leave a comment and maybe we can breath a bit of life back into the place!

Hi, I'm new to the forum.

Just thought I'd say hello, recently got what I believe to be a fugitive 4 that I shall be working on with my son.

The plan is to have it back on the road for his end of school prom.... which gives me about 6 years!

Anyway, here is a photo

Thanks

Hello

We feel it’s time for another competition for April and May, but this time with a very unique prize up for grabs for all you car fans out there.

Chances are if you’ve been to a car show or event in the last few years, you would have seen Ian from http:/www.popbangcolour.com/ creating stunning artwork with the help of his remote control cars. If not, give his website a look!

Well, normally Ian’s artwork is reserved for the big manufacturers and hang proudly in their HQ’s but for Adrian Flux, Ian has kindly agreed to commission a piece of artwork for the winner of our comp.

The final piece of artwork will be 2 and a half metres long by 1 and a half metres tall, so not small. The piece can be of any car the winner decides but it must be a car.

So, here’s how to enter:

Using no more than 250 words on this post reply, describe the car you would like Pop Bang Colour to paint for you and why it holds a special place in your heart. This could be your first car, your dream car, basically any car that has a back story.

From all entries across the forums this competition post is featured, 2 people from the Adrian Flux Forum team and Ian himself will select the winning entry they feel is the most original and interesting.

2 runners up will win a print of their choice from www.popbangcolourshop.com

https://twitter.com/Popbangcolour
https://www.facebook.com/popbangcolour
https://www.instagram.com/popbangcolour/

Good luck.

Rules:

1 entry per person only

No insurance quotation necessary

Open to both current and non Adrian Flux customers

The competition is open from 9am 31st March until 9am 31st May

1 winner and two runners up will be selected from all entries from all participating forums and announced at the start of June 2016.

The winner will be contacted via PM on the forum. Should there be no reply after 7 days; a different winner will be selected.

UK residents only
