Hi all ;)

As most people know, I recently bought a F33 that has never been used.

Cause I'm a flat4 guy, and already have a powerfull engine, I will take out the V8 and mount my VW type 2,4 engine.

I'm collection parts for a while now and here are the first piccies:

some people would already know this, but the standard valve size in a type4 head is 33x37. I drove with 35x39 which resulted in 248BHP with turbo.

Now I'm going for 40x51mm B) exhaust: manley xtrem ally/inconel. intake: titanium exceldynes...

After pickin up the F33, we also stopped at the war museum at Duxford. I must say that most english people we met, are a lot more friendly (right word?) than most dutch..

Looking very nice mate! Look forward to seeing the whole thing bolted together, should be a real beast! Would be interested on knowing how you get on with the IVA!

The F33 you bought was less than a mile away from where my Fugitive is! Shame it was exam period for me at the time as would've been interesting to see it and meet you!

Hope you enjoyed duxford! I actually volunteer there on Sundays, don't know if you saw the military vehicles? But I work restoring them, we work on all the military vehicles in the museum! Believe it or not, the majority of them actually run and we drive them around a little arena at the back of the museum - great fun!!

Hi, To bad I didn't knew that.

We did enjoy Duxford, all the planes, cars etc. also how much special airplanes where in the hangars! B)

the blackbird, harrier, concorde are things which impressed me as a child.

The fug was located in Duxford for years.

It will be a beast yes, probably we will modify the Megasquit for swichtable maps or build in a flexfuel sensor, to make it possible to drive on E85 (bio-ethanol)

but that's something for the future

First I need to find the right copper-berrylium valve seats so I can finish the heads.

Also bought a Megasquirt ms3 with expanderboard, and cables.. it has all you want.. 2 or 3step launch control, wheelspeed sensors, really a lot of extra in and outputs..

Hi everybody.

I've made a desicion.

I will stop building the type4 engine. It cost's me too much money to get it reliable enough for a full day trackabuse.

I"m going lexus V8 B)

That's a bold move after all the work you've done on the VW motor. Good luck with your new direction.

Hi,

Yes it is.

But it was also fun to do. I'm now selling al parts separate.
Most of the parts weren't that expensive. so it doesn't hurt that much.

Soon some pictures :)

I made a small progress.

I got the cable shift system out of a volvo 850. I can modify it to use it on the 930box.

Also got a set of kelford cams and springs. With these cams and some nice porting, 360hp on the crank is reachable :)

Within a few weeks I have the time and space to fit the V8 into the chassis. I hope it will work....
