You're saying that every new person is a bad player? Wow. That is pretty damn ignorant. Everyone is a noob at some point in time, and "experience" means jack shit in games. Unless you are saying people play the same way in every game, which makes you repetitive and boring with no regards to genuinely caring about the game or any bonds formed. Besides, the best player I've ever played with on GTS has only played one game. |

It makes me sad that everybody always gangs up on Blooburry ![]() That said, I think no ranking system will be considered 100% "accurate" because everybody has different definitions of what a good player should be. I think the ranking system is a fun idea, but I think it can take away from some of the fun for some players who are all about improving their rankings and then when they reach a high number, they'll quit in fear of falling in the ranks. And I brought this up before but sometimes players can guess the ID of a player in an ORG. If someone IDs TaylorStreet in an ORG they may just be inclined to take him out right then and there with the ranking system in mind. I may be exaggerating (I am ) but basically I think the ranking system can ruin what is supposed to be a fun gaming experience into something more competitive and personal

(His name starts with an M and rhymes with bitch.)
If you can't hide your identity, then you are an awful player. Not only that, but I consider people cheating if they continue to do something they know others will recognize. |

lol I think the problem with this thread is the fact that really, it's a list of players' placement averages. It says NOTHING about what kind of games they've played, or how many games they've played in. No ranking is going to take into account all the different things we look for in a "good" player. I don't think it's possible, because like others have said, the criteria to determine how "good" a player is in comparison to others is rather subjective. Really, what is a "good" player? Ask different people, and you'll get slightly different answers. I kinda liked it better when we didn't have the rankings, tbh. When I first joined GTS, there were no rankings, and I think they were introduced again sometime during my absence. It was neat to come back and see this and think, "well, so that's how I compare in general to the other players? Cool!" but I think too much emphasis is placed on it now. Are rankings for an ORG really that important in the grand scheme of things? It's so much easier to just play to have fun, than to constantly worry about how your placement will affect your average  The Taylor vs Jude debate does make me lawl though, since I *think* that a number of people either have only played with Jude, or only played with Taylor (in my case, really neither). How can you compare the two if you haven't played with both? |

The rankings are just numbers people. If you don't like them, then just don't look at them I realize some people base their game play on going up in the rankings and you can hate them for that, but you can't tell someone how to play or what to play for. The rankings are here to stay (I think), so drink it in. |

No, you're putting words in my mouth, so stop I am talking about the latest batch of noobs. Everyone is a noob at some point and they grow into better players when they play more games. Can you really say the clique of IYBIL, etc are good players? Please. You can't grow as a player unless you cease to play with the same group of people. Dumbass.

As a noob, I will say this. Whether or not some of us are good or players, the real problem is when players have 4-5 games going at once, and are borderline-inactive in them because of it. If you want to play in multiple games, fine, because I know I played Redux + Negresses at the same time, but don't do a disservice to the games by showing up once or twice a day, settling into an alliance, and doing absolutely nothing else of worth the entire game. That's what annoys me in a lot of the players I came up with, through Isla Redonda. I've been somehow involved, as a lurker or player, in a lot of games with some of these new players, and without fail, by the end of the game it's clear that their confessional is pretty much neglected, and their game was extremely simple, because all they had the time to do was get online, respond to a few PMs, and move on to the next game. |

I haven't seen any of them play, except IYBIL who sucked, so how am I supposed to know? Still, I would bet money on at least half of them being decent when they're active. You act like these games are difficult to play. Also, I don't get how there can be a clique, especially when hosts recruit the people they want for their games. |

Well, yeah. I would never recommend playing more than one game at a time. Even the people who are capable of staying active in two games at once, time constraints force them to not put their full effort into one or the other. I don't care what anyone says, you can't reply to ongoing PMs in two different games simultaneously. at anyone doing 4 or 5 at once.

I'm not encouraging this, necessarily, but I think it actually CAN be beneficial to do two at once. Maybe that sounds absurd, but to have a second game to go to when one gets stressful isn't half bad. I know when NC4 got really intense, I went to Smash bros to chill :ph43r: Spending too much time at a game, too, usually does more harm than good. Or maybe that's just my experience with games. But obviously only do it if you know/think you can handle it. The worst part about playing two games imo, is trying to keep a detailed confessional in both 4/5 is fuckin' impossible

Not that I recommend ever playing in more than one game at a time because it really could be more than you bargained for... ...but two games at once can be easily managed if the challenges weren't at the exact same time. Then its just a matter of finding time to concentrate on PMing in each game so you don't appear mute or inactive. It's like playing the piano with both of your two hands. (Before I took lessons I found the concept of playing with both hands simultaneously incredibly difficult. ^_^) Once you've mastered the technique it just flows naturally. I miss my piano lessons.Playing in 3 or more games however... It's like juggling eggs. Unless you've got mad skillz you're gonna struggle to keep all the eggs in the air. And you'll lose your rhythm and have a huge mess to clean up afterwards.

:ph43r: I log on during classes too, it's so bad. I can only juggle two during the summer though bc summer classes aren't that bad. Juggling Battle Royale, FvF while graduating and writing exams? Not such a good idea  lol SP... even with challenge times at the same time, you could just not do so great at the game you're safe in. Not recommended, but it's not as hard if you're throwing indiv challenges anyway  |

I did 2 @ once by accident because I didn't expect one of the games I was in to run for so long. Anywho, I was miserable. Even if you didn't have an outside life it's still pretty stresstastic. Never again. |
