Here's something to motivate you:

I rock at college. I got pretty much straight As while taking 18+ credits for my first three years and now I'm relaxing like a boss.

I saw you eating pigeons in an alley yesterday.

Natalie: Mikester you're totes awesome! I know you can hit it out of the ballpark and get straight As. Just think of Nat's OTTP4 episode a few weeks ago!

Meh I made it through university alright. Got a fluff degree that didn't get me anywhere. -_-

Now I'm back in college giving it another go.

Failing isn't the end of the world. If at first you don't succeed, pick yourself up and try again. ^_^

Running out of money though...yeah, that could be a problem!

I'll just add to the many people that have already said the first semester is the hardest to deal with. I had a class or two that I didn't study for and didn't really pay any attention to until it was almost too late. I barely squeaked through on those classes.

The important thing is to learn from that first semester and start adjusting to college. You'll always be stressed the last two weeks of the semester no matter how you are doing in your classes. It'll get better I promise. You can always retake classes like some people have said earlier. With my college they let you replace the grade for your transcripts and such, but the other grade is still factored into your GPA.

Hope everything works out for you Mikester!

Mikester, where is your parents?

Anyway, keep pushing and pushing. Some time in your life, you're going to fail and this experience will just hone you in life and when you fail again, you'll get used to it and you will not feel like giving up on life anymore.

My parents are here but I'll feel like such a :loser if I'm still living with them by the time I'm like 21.

Thanks for the advice! I hope you're right, but I also hope I don't fail anymore after this

Yeah that's the attitude.

Well, about the parents thingy, I think it is their responsibility to pay for your tuition fees and after you graduate, you still need them. I'm sorry but that's just the fact. It's up to you though if you want to live from your own labor.

By the way, it doesn't mean that if you fail at school, you fail at life too. :shrug

Yeah I'm sorry not all of us have rich parents that can just pull money out of their ass to pay for all of college.

Mikester, don't give up! <3

Thank God my parents are rich. :dance

Okay so I found out today that I missed the first part of my English final. Basically I have two days (100 minutes) to write an essay for my final and I missed the first day. I think that I can write the essay in one class if my teacher actually allows me to do it but I don't even know if she'll let me take it since I missed the first day. Anyway, I'm taking 6 classes and I am potentially failing 3 of them. Also the reasons I am failing is not ORG-related. This was my first semester at college so I think I had issues with adjusting and applying myself the right way.

SO ANYWAY, if I fail my classes I'm considering dropping out of college and just living in my car or finding some sugar daddy or something who can support me until he dies AND THEN living in my car.

So, anyway, here is your task:

a - Convince me that failing a few classes in my first semester is not a huge deal and doesn't mean I have to drop out.

or

b -

actually just do a.

k, go!

A for sure dude! You can do an overload sometime in a later semester. You'll be fine ;-)

But if you really want a sugar daddy I have lots of money

Good luck Mikester! This actually happened to my dad lol. He then had to work really hard, but he still got a mechanical engineering degree by the end of his senior spring semester. You can do it if you put your mind to it. Just don't give up!

I want you to continue playing ORGs though, but maybe more in the summer/winter breaks idk? :lbf

Thank you, that does make me feel a lot better. But if you fail, that is always on your records right? I'm just concerned that even if I do well in the next few semesters the failing grades will be on my records forever and ever and then I'll never get into another college and then I'll never get a good job and be rich like I was supposed to be.

To my knowledge, yes if you fail a class then it's always on your permanent transcript. I think the only way to really get it removed is to transfer schools or something. But like I said, you're not the only college freshman to fail a class.

And I've had several jobs since I graduated and guess what, not a single one has asked me anything about my college GPA or asked to see a copy of my transcript. So if that makes you feel better...

I failed algebra my first semester of college. I retook it my second semester and got a B+.

In the future, don't be afraid to drop a course. I WAS failing calculus in my 3rd year so I dropped it on the last possible day of the drop period because I knew there was no saving me in that class, retook it as a summer course and I got a B+.

*hugs Mikester* :<3

I'm not really a shining example, Mr. Mikester, but if it inspires you, I was almost kicked out of college at the end of three different semesters because I just didn't give a shit about the stupid classes I had to take to fulfill boring requirements that meant nothing to me. I was a film major, I got nothing but A's in anything that was even remotely related to my major. Everything else? I either squeaked by with the minimum grade needed to earn the credits, or outright failed.

And from the day I started not caring about the classes I didn't care about to the day I graduated, my guilt level remained almost negligible. Be like me -- don't care. :kudo

(FML, I'm impressed... I thought my 1.67 in my first semester was a horrible bombing. Your 1.0... I bow to it.)

And if someone's actually paying for you to be in college, like grant money or parents, then maybe you should try slightly more. I pretty much funded my way through college on my own (and will be paying for it for a while), so I only had to answer to myself for my shitty performance.
