I know that there's been a little bit of confusion about how they should be counted, and I think I've come up with an optimal solution.

Let's take Pearl Islands (the real season) as an example.

This is the elimination order:
Nicole
Ryan S.
Lill
Burton
Michelle
Trish
Osten/Shawn
Savage
Ryno
Rupert
Tijuana
Christa
Burton (2)
Darrah
Fairplay
Lill (2)
Sandra

Now, obviously, Nicole and Ryan S. get 16/16 and 15/16.
I propose that Lill's first elimination not be counted against her, but still be counted in other players' counts.

Therefore, Michelle is still 12/16, Trish is still 11/16, and Osten/Shawn are still 9th/16.

Now, Burton and Lill reenter the game. Thus adding 2 more boots. From this point forward, we grade on the 'new' player count. Ergo, Savage is 10/18, Ryno is 9/18, and so on and so forth. This way, the players still get credit for surviving those two negated eliminations, but it doesn't count against those who didn't get to come back.

Yea/Nay?

Nay. Your placement is not a credit for how many Tribal Councils you survived (or else casts with quitters would be classified as smaller groups despite their true size). It's credit for how many players you outlasted. In the Pearl Islands example, Michelle and Trish did not outlast Lill and Burton; the two Outcasts defeated them. Even Osten and Shawn were defeated by Lill and Burton, as the latter two were wise enough to get booted earlier in the game and thus be eligible for the Outcast twist (of course, that's silly, but it's what the format of the game strictly implies, and when you get into statistics, all that matters are the strict factual scenarios). Andrew did not play against 17 competitors, he played against 15, only six of which he defeated.

Quite simply, nothing changes when a player re-enters the game. They've benefited from a twist, it affects the game, and things might even seem unfair. But if the game's format involves Outcasts, that's just how it is. It doesn't affect anyone's placement, because in theory, everyone is equally eligible to benefit from the twist should they play accordingly.

Yay. I think people who dislike this are people who lost to outcasts. *eyeroll*

I also think this could be used with games with Intruders(Ad Ocolus, that one Colo).
ALL THAT MATTERS:

Pokemon Survivor
Hosted by Kitty Pryde1
Played: Beatrix
Placing: 1st out of 18

Intruders is easy; they get their placing divided by the number of players in the game at the time they entered the game. I've been doing it that way since the beginning. Outcasts is the nightmare scenario, neither of my proposed ideas have been too popular. :P For now its simply final placing divided by total players.

Someone should make a game where every character is Kel Gleason.
