Why do you like Survivor?

More than half of you are twiggy, little gay men who don't know shit about the wilderness so this thought entered my mind earlier today. What is it that allures you to Survivor? My guess is that the strategic element/process of elimination is what the appeal is but I could be wrong.

I am obsessed with survival and I always have had a huge ego, so knowing I am better than 15-19 other people at something + outdoors = killer combo. Howboutchu?

I like the human interaction. How you try to change your ways to get your further. And how you almost always revert to who you really are -- the good and the bad.

I just find watching people within a social game setting interesting.

You're obsessed with survival? Have you actually been outdoors, emcee? :hee

Because you get to spend 39 days in paradise and in the past it was cool to see ordinary people being able to accomplish that ... now it's just a bunch of mactors on a set in Venice Beach but I'm addicted so watch it even though I know now it's not real. :oldman

:alien In Massachusetts alone there is plenty of terrain for hiking, camping and hunting. Not to mention I live on the fucking beach. So next time you decide to speak, check your geography again, and it's pretty funny you're the first to speak as you sit on your ass on AIM all day with no one to talk to.

I love the competitive element interspersed within a dangeresque scenario. Also, I love to root for individuals. Once I get a favorite, I get sucked in, and I get sucked into Survivor very easily.

Well Mr. Assumpion Maker, I'm very outdoorsy. But aside from that I just like the strategic and social elements and I like the challenges even though they've been kind of lame lately. I sort of just like everything about the show.

Created the abomination that was Lucunt.
I'm super outdoorsy too and a true social butterfly, so I love the nature and interaction involved in the show. No seasons can ever be the same because there are always new, refreshing personalities every year (well moreso in the past when we didn't have returnees so much...), so it never gets old to me. I also LURVE the fact that it's not one of those retarded shows where, if you are a latecomer, you feel obligated to watch the entire series. Each season is relatively unrelated to the other and they're short, so it's really easy to catch up. This is why IN MY OPINION that Survivor has been able to stay on air for so long while others shows like Lost and Heroes peter out. A lot of shows slow down, and it's really hard to get new viewers who feel like it's a task to understand what's going on, but not Survivor newbs. They can jump right in!

On a different not, I realized that I'm completely an online anomaly. Good looking? Check. Social? Check. Athletic? Check. Do I have a life and go out? Check. But I'm also incredibly smart and diligent and driven and stuff like that. An all around amazing person! Yall are lucky to have me here! Maybe I'm the next Survivor mactor, who knowz?

I'm fascinated by social interactions and the ways in which people engage each other. That's the immediate draw to Survivor. But the fact that it all takes place in an incredibly competitive environment, one in which each action has a clear reaction and your relationships almost solely dictate your success, is what makes the show even more intriguing to me. Add in the amazing settings, the elements of wilderness survival, and the appeal of certain challenges and you've got a recipe for success. I'd love to compete in such a game, but as long as I can't, it's interesting enough to see others do it instead. ^_^

me .. I'm a complete online typical ... Forties, fat, frumpy frau? Check. Social? Sociopathic is more like it. Athletic? Not on your life. Do I have a life and go out? Not too much.

BUT ... I'm also incredibly dramatic and can be quite obnoxious when I don't get my way so I'm lucky to have y'all here. I'm definitely NOT the next Survivor ... they rejected me 9 times so I took that as my answer.

I just like the aspect of a group of people having to interact and play the game. The challenges are fun to watch, as is the strategy.
