Lucky Mister Lurking Owl did appreciate the one PM that you did send him though. It made him root for you to win. Overall though, he had his other favorites.

Alright, next up...best players that didn't win This includes actual characters in ORGs that did really well but still came up short in the end. I'm thinking this will be a Top 15, maybe Top 20 - and will of course include games that I lurked in/helped co-host. I'll probably get this thang started later.

Yes she did! The letter was quite delightful. It made me root for her to win. Although the main reason that I rooted for her was because you were so pro-JT. I'm not saying that anything was wrong with JT, but the excessive love for him was a bit much. I would never openly love someone like that. I'm excited SFGP! Great Mikester writeups by the way. |

I was trying to sorta do each suggestion in the order they were suggested (ETA - sans the Mikester Elims since that was a quick one), but I'll do the Samoa write-up after this one? Promise

Someone's psychic. ![]() 10. Rupert, Survivor: Fames vs. Bores 4th place Played by: makcrabs Rupert played a very smooth game like a way more successful version of Jerri's in the real HvV. Rupert managed to be the only guy in a good position on the fames (which was dominated by personalities such as Steph, Crystal and Elisabeth :o, with Jerri/Sue being in great positions.) Rupert wasn't at the top of the alliance over there, but certainly wasn't at the bottom. aka The best position to be in, because no one really targeted Rupert in the game except for the final 10 (and he had the idol at that TC) and at the final 4. Very few players seem able to pull off the "all-caps" shtick, but despite basically yelling at everyone in PMs, Rupert still managed to come across very witty and a darn solid player his confessionals were AMAZING btw. So while Rupert played it safely in the middle position, both tribes merged at twelve, where the Fames pulled off a brilliant move in getting some of the Bores to vote out one of their own. At that tribal council, each player got two votes, and two people would be voted out. The fames somehow managed to vote out Ibrehem/Liliana, for reasons that aren't even clear to me as someone who co-hosted, that's how crazy it was  I hope someone can elaborate <3 The next round was the first time Rupert ever appeared on the radar, with both tribes now being tied up 5-5 after the bores lost a 7-5 advantage. Predictably the votes were split, except Rupert had the idol so...bai, Brad. The next few rounds afterwards are where Rupert really shined. At first, looking at the game on the outside, Jeff, Mark and I thought Rupert may not have sided with a new alliance of Crystal, Kelly, Brett and himself. They had finally put two and two together and realized Steph/Jerri had a secret cross-tribal alliance with John/Mary, and needed to split it up pronto otherwise they'd waltz to the F4. But Rupert sided with them in what I personally believe is quite possibly the best ORG move ever Steph, the queen bee of the entire game thus far was voted out 4-3-2.The next two rounds that alliance stayed intact, where Rupert continued to stay under the radar (but still in control quite a bit) and maintain a tight bond with Crystal. Now, the one flaw I think there was to Rupert's game was voting out Brett at F6. To be fair though Brett was a threat and Rupert/Crystal couldn't anticipate Kelly's random move to side with John/Sue...which was kinda the equivalent of Sugar randomly voting out Ken/Crystal  this unpredictable move caused Rupert's closest ally Crystal to be voted out at F5, but Rupert's game wasn't done since Sue/Kelly both would have taken him to the final 3, where he would've easily won. But John won a clutch immunity and Rupert was voted out otherwise there weren't really any flaws in Rupert's game, it was pretty much perfect, and he ultimately got voted out because of Kelly thinking Rupert/Crystal were behind Brett's boot (Brett was her closest ally.)

OMG Voting out Brett wasn't a bad move - I stand by that. What WAS a bad move was not pulling John into a final three with SOMEBODY. Had I not convinced him I was ~*with*~ him, I might've been able to get him to take me to the final three. What could've been

Myn-T <_< alol jk, Myn-T everyone and their momma probably knows Myn-T has a spot here, but where? ![]() 9. Bunky, Jun's House 3: Back to Basics 3rd place Played by: ts2 Yes, the avatar needs to be the one where Bunky used the Coup, kthnx. I can't believe this game was over three years ago, going back to the board to retreive the avi and seeing "May 2007" is so weird. Bunky is one of ts2's many great characters, and Bunky was like a Rich or Todd. Um..even a Russell? The CPN5 dominator of JH3, to put it in simpler terms Bunky played a very good game and although most of GTS may not know of this game, I definitely recommend reading it.Bunky started out in the massive "Octopussie" alliance of eight, consisting of Bunky/Amy/Hardy/Rachel/Chiara/Lori/Erik/um...Jee? What's hilarious is that 7 out of 9 of the Final 9 were from the Octo-alliance and none of them made the final 2. Lulz. But that's because the alliance fractured, thanks to the infamous move by Bunky...the Coup. Bunky was in a very good position in this alliance, being lurved by all and even had a final 3 deal going with Amy/Chiara on the side. But this game had partners, and Bunky's parter Michelle was outside of this alliance. Bunky/Michelle is one of the best pairings ever, in a game where you can't nominate your partner/vote your partner out, these two managed to make the final 3 and no one was able to split them up. Needless to say Michelle was nominated at the final 9 and Bunky wasn't havin' it, so he single-handedly ruptured the Octo-alliance and nominated Amy and Chiara with his Coup. A new "partner" alliance of Rachel/Hardy and Michelle/Bunky was formed, which basically ruled the game and it took final 6 for one of them to finally leave (Rachel). What seperates Bunky from a lot of gamebots is that Bunky was like the pimp of JH3, you had to go to Bunky to plead your case post-F9  I remember as Chiara I was sucking up to Bunky and nobody else, to stay in the game. The weird thing is that Bunky was literally never a target. Despite obviously being the one in control, Bunky stunk up the joint in challenges. And even after flipping the game at F9, Bunky is still the one I trusted the most after April/Rachel (April/Rachel/Chiara gathered at final 6 to make a counter alliance once it became obvious to Rachel that Michelle/Hardy/Bunky were the core three, but t'was an unsuccessful coup *sniffle* ) So after Rachel, Chiara followed, as did Hardy when April won HoH. So the final 3 was April, and yep...the dynamic duo, Michelle/Bunky, who were one HoH from being the final 2. April won HoH and voted out uber strategic threat Bunky...though tbh I'm not sure if Bunky would have won against April, since although the jury acknowledged his great game, much of the jury loved April. (Think of April as Sandra and Bunky as Russell. Michelle the challenge queen as Parvati. )Disclaimer: I'm not calling Russell a good player. 'Cuz he certainly aint. But you get what I mean, right? April won against Michelle 4-3, and these two were ironically the only two not in the Octo-alliance that made the jury. Kind of fitting in hindsight maybe I would vote for Bunky if he were in the final 2, and if it were a final 3 I think he actually could've won since he at the very least could've had a plurality of the votes. So there you have it, ts2 as Bunky played one heck of a game and fell short at the final 3 like many players do. But third is typically the "omg rawbed" placing anyway, so maybe it kinda adds to how good of a game Bunky played. |
