No, but I also don't call my non-favorites the most likable people ever despite "having no depth or charisma". We're clearly just talking in circles at this point so that's the end of that. I'd bet that I'd want to murder most of my favorites in real life after hanging out with them for more than an hour or two.

Six hour penalty coupled with already being hours behind as it is. Nick giving up :rolleyes: I felt bad for Vicki.

I can only think of one other time a team has elected not to do the detour, and it was in the very first season - Momily, at the final five, didn't do the detour in Thailand. They instead got a 24 hour penalty, which was the reason they were eliminated instead of the Guidos. That was such a dramatic conclusion to a great episode. So now it's only six hours? That's nothing compared to what it used to be. I do believe, however, that the penalty for not completing a roadblock is still four hours, though.

Actually, Maria and Tiffany were slapped with the same penalty in season 15 as well. I think there were hours of operation on the other detour option, hence why Brook and Claire and Nick and Vicki didn't even try it. Since they couldn't try the other detour option, they weren't hit with a 24 hour penalty and production decided to reduce it to six hours. Nick and Vicki really are lucking out on production calls this season. ETA: Also, let's not all lie to ourselves, Nick and Vicki are going to be in the running to be safe next week. Even if flights to the next destination are constant, and there isn't bunching on the planes, if they leave 24 hours from when they checked in, then in the next country they go to, there could be hours of operation (as there often are) that rebunch the teams again.

They have gotten extremely lucky unfortunately so you can imagine I am not happy there was a NEL and they could potentially stay around over a better or more entertaining team.
