I wish I had followed Kiribati more, because from reading that write-up UC sounds fantastic in every sense of the word.

UC

I played with UC in ILM where he was a great player that caused my elimination and i voted him off on the jury out of bitterness. That caused his elimination from the game where he pretty much would have won if he in the final challenge. I regret that completely :( .

We're down to six! Who will be #1? You still have about a week to find that out, but for today, here is #6......

SurvivorFan GP

Referenced Games:

Exile Island Redux (1st)
Tocantins (1st)
Samoa (5th)

Had I never cast SFGP in Tocantins, he probably wouldn't have made this list, just like how unduli clone wouldn't have made it without Kiribati. I've been fortunate, however, to see SFGP play in three major games over the past couple years, and he always gives a strong performance.

I think he's quite the underrated player, in fact. When listing great players, SFGP seems to be on the fringe of most people's thoughts; he's almost there, but not quite. To me, he definitely is. He is able to mix being under the radar with a very likable and smooth social game, along with a wealth of strategic knowledge, combining to make one hell of a player. I'm hoping that, after reading this write-up, people will consider SFGP to be one of the greats, because he truly is.

My first experience with SFGP that I remember was Exile Island Redux. Many people forget that I was actually a co-host in this game. I followed it very intensely until the merge where real life called me away more often than not. SFGP played as Cirie, a very appropriate choice given his way of ORG playing: always strategic, always social, always level-headed.

Early on, SFGP was involved in one of the best alliances possible: him, Maj, and spnintendo. These three went on to dominate the game and ended up in the final three. I mean, seriously, how many combinations could beat this one? Very, very few, so when these three players hooked up it spelled doom for the rest of the cast, either immediately or later on.

After pulling some strong moves after the merge, they ended up in the final three, and SFGP went on to win the game. Unfortunately, it's been awhile and I can't name anything specific that SFGP did, but I do remember him playing a very solid game all the way around, leading to him beating Maj in the final two.

It was because of this performance that I wanted SFGP in Tocantins. I was trying to stack the cast with power players, and seeing SFGP in just one game was reason enough to want him in my first game. In Tocantins he played a pretty similar game to Exile Island Redux, and luckily I was able to really pay attention to it this time.

Like island sun, SFGP won the "best first impression vote" as Taj on the second night of the game. This gave SFGP valuable time at Timbira, an advantage over everyone else in Jalapao. His tribe won the first three challenges, but between it all, SFGP built up a very solid core of allies and remained liked by the rest of them.....except one.

Jeremy decided to target SFGP after the second challenge, and it was a brutal power struggle in Jalapao for an entire weekend. No one was exactly sure where anyone stood, but this much was clear: either SFGP or Jeremy were going on. As a host, it was absolutely fascinating to see two awesome players go after each other so aggressively in the pre-merge, which doesn't happen too often.

I don't think SFGP is used to being attacked so early on in the game, before even the third Tribal Council. He was in danger and he had to fix it. As I said earlier, SFGP is extremely level-headed and calm, which is a very positive attribute for a great player. He kept his allies close, all the while making sure other people in the tribe saw that he wasn't going anywhere so it was better to vote with him than against him. He did it in a very non-threatening manner, of course.

Jalapao attended the fourth Tribal Council where Jeremy was unanimously voted out. SFGP didn't even receive a vote, in fact. He had won his little war, and the best was yet to come.

SFGP had the numbers at the merge but was blindsided at the final nine when certain players flipped on the main Jalapao alliance, very similar to John being booted in Marquesas. The way SFGP handled this situation, however, was beautifully executed and, in my opinion, was a major reason as to why he won the game.

You see, spnintendo was one of the people who flipped, though it wasn't the first time in the game he had done so. SFGP recognized spnintendo's hectic yet rational and logical nature; if a flip made sense, spnintendo wasn't afraid to do it, even though he had already flipped twice in the game by now. SFGP worked him hard to do it for the third time.

The interesting part was how SFGP went about it. He went for the hard sell by first telling spnintendo how upset he was with him, about how spnintendo left him out of the blindside. After throwing in the emotional card, which let spnintendo know that SFGP actually cared for him (or did he?), SFGP laid down the strategic line of thinking. Of course, SFGP promised him final three, but also told spnintendo how he was on the outside of his new alliance that had just taken control.

It was that night in which SFGP won the game. Not only was he able to flip spnintendo back to his side for the final eight vote, giving him numbers once again, but it was a big strategic accomplishment that he could tell the jury about at the end, which he did. SFGP held on to the numbers for the rest of the game. Even at the final four when spnintendo, the target, won immunity, SFGP received zero votes. He was at the center of his majority alliance. Everyone trusted him. That, to me, is excellent social and strategic gameplay. SFGP won the game 4-3 over Alffmix, concluding a crazy game with a solid winner.

I also saw SFGP play in FML's Samoa late last year. It wasn't as great a showing for him, as he got 6th place, but what impressed me was how SFGP because sort of a challenge whore when he needed to be after the merge. He was safe as usual up until this point, but he was in the minority as of the very first merge vote.

Even the most level-headed players can make bad decisions, however. SFGP was convinced in less than 15 minutes that his new closest ally, survivorninja, was going to vote him out, which wasn't true. SFGP made a rash decision and voted ninja out. The mistake came full circle in the next round when SFGP lost immunity and was voted out. I bring up Samoa because while SFGP played a solid game overall, even the best players can make a bad decision from time to time. No one is infallible.

As I said early in this write-up, SFGP is far too often underestimated as a player and forgotten when it comes to naming great players. People know he's good, but I know he's great. Running into a social and strategic beast who never loses his cool in an ORG is something you don't want to come across when playing. The scary part is he's hardly ever obvious about his gameplay. He's not like, say, Bluth in Vertigo 7 who very clearly is working everyone to his advantage. SFGP does it in such a subtle way that no one really catches on until it's too late.

As more proof of SFGP's dominance, look at his record from this year alone so far: three games played, all finishing in the final three, with one of them as a win. That win came from a Nightclub game, which aren't easy to win from what I've seen. Had I been apart of that, I'm sure it would be in this write-up.

Even without it, SFGP stands strong as #6 in this ranking. He's just a great overall player, whose subtlety is his most valuable weapon.

All that stuff you just said...in my book, he already is one of the best, if not THE best social player I've ever seen. With Maj and spnintendo of course. :P The person behind SFanGP is a genuinely nice person, so it comes across in games. I'm sometimes a douche in real life and it comes across too.

So that relates to Tocantins... In the end, good people always win. :rofl That 4-3 loss still hurts. Lol. I would've been all DGT winning the game as the character who won the real season.

About Brendan's flip...

Taj (SfanGP) reacted so much differently to how I reacted to Brendan's flip...I was all like "Hey dude, you had to do what you had to do...great move...props to you..I'm not mad at you...". I never thought that could've came across as 'not caring' for this ally...cause I was pissed OFF and shocked! Especially since Joe (beatles) and I were uber-close. But hey, better get blindsided earlier than later, since Sydney (Mikester) and Taj (SfanGP) were gonna come after Joe and me down the road.

And I've had the pleasure of hosting The Nightclub 3 with SurvivorFanGP as a winner. Once again, a stellar social game, great positioning (except when Olivia's in power, lol) and a touch of razzle dazzle with a fun ol' grandma schtick.

OMG I thought for sure sfgp would be about #3 on this list. He would be top 3 for me for sure.

I've seen GP play so many fabulous games. Some Jun's House. Some Nightclub. Some FML, hell, early FML. (Jed and Maude Love!) Tocantins. Redux Exile. He never disappoints. Jun's House 2. Awesome game. Granny in Nightclub. Awesome game.

Taj. Meh, I didn't like her but it was because Taj had me totally figured out early on. I was picked to visit Taj's tribe round 2. I could read everything she had said about me in her tribe's forum. Erinn is a power player. Erinn needs to be watched. Ugh. I never approached her correctly and she pegged me early. Didn't make for a good working relationship but there was no denying how quick a study Taj was.

But my favorite SFGP game is easily Redux Exile Islands. That game does not get enough credit. SFGP as Cirie combined with Maj and sp. They were perfection as far as gaming alliances go.

His social game is tops. And as it was said earlier, I like that SFGP is a wonderful, caring person out of game. Total respect for him and love seeing him this high on the list.
