Honestly, I have not met anyone in a game ever even remotely like Jeremy. He's a damn good player but it's like he's like experimental improvised jazz compared to the solid players at the top of this list who would be catchy mainstream rock classics.

Time to put an end to the mystery: who is #1?

That distinguished honor goes to.....

Jeremy

Referenced Games:

Warriors (4th)
Nepal (1st)
Belize (1st)

With all due respect to the other 11 people on this list, and every player on this board in general, this wasn't even close. I've been incredibly fortunate enough to see Jeremy really play in three games, especially the latter two on the list above, and his performances in all three are nothing short of genius.

I know that many people at GTS have seen Jeremy be an inactive early boot, such as in Sinners & Saints, Samoa, Final Fantasy, and Chaos Big Brother. There are varying reasons for what happened in all of those games, but I won't get into that now. What I can assure you is that those should not be looked at as examples of Jeremy playing an ORG.

I think the most interesting thing about Jeremy is that I can't figure him out, particularly his method. I don't get it. After reading PMs of his in Belize, I don't understand how he gets people on his side so easily. He is by far the best player at getting people to just plain like him right off the bat. Jeremy does this with ease. Again, I still don't know how, but it is crucial in his strategy and how he operates. I've never met someone in an ORG who will legitimately make me laugh as much as he does, and I think others here can agree. He quickly disarms his opponents with his off the wall humor, and with this he also appears to be non-threatening. The truth is, Jeremy is the most threatening player in the cast, and no one knows it until it's too late.

I was on a 12 and 1/2 hour flight home from Beijing when Jeremy pulled off the first major move I'd see of his. After I landed in Maryland from L.A., drove home and ate American food for the first time in three weeks, I logged in with my lurker account to DGT's Warriors game in early 2008. Earlier that evening, one player, Rory had flipped on his original tribe after a swap, blindsiding island sun. It was an incredibly risky move, as is always the case when you flip right after a swap.

Rory was none other than Jeremy. I had no idea who he was, but his confessional kept me entertained and perplexed at the same time. The game went on, and I'd say this one had more public drama than I've ever seen, even to this day. It was mainly between UD and The Amazing Race's Mary Conley, and the latter professed over and over how honest and noble of a player she was. Amidst the drama, Jeremy laid low and didn't get involved, yet still, he should have been on everyone's radar due to betraying his entire tribe pretty early on.

Due to Jeremy and an ally of his, Mary ended her reign as queen of Warriors as they blindsided her at the final eight. Not only was Jeremy just betraying people left and right and getting away with it, but he also had picked up a very loyal ally that would be with him for the rest of the game. Unfortunately, he lost that ally at the final five when a challenge forced the loser to leave the game. Jeremy was then caught in a tie at the very next vote, and lost the game.

This was just a small preview of Jeremy's skills, because it was nothing compared to what I saw a few months later. DGT hosted his next and most recent game, Nepal, in the summer of 2008. Beyond being probably the most competitive game I've ever played in, it resulted in the best winner I've ever seen, that being Jeremy. It's just a shame that the board is forever lost (DAMN YOU MANZ) because at this point in the write-up I'd tell everyone to go check out the board now, particularly Jeremy's confessional, and start taking notes on how to play a social game. Unlike Jimmy T of Nicaragua, Jeremy can actually tell people to take out a notebook and a pen and take notes on his game, because it is bar none the best performance ever. He owned Nepal like Dr. Will owned BB2, if you will.

First of all, Jeremy constantly kept me laughing during the game. Sure, some didn't really understand his humor, but most of us did, and again that is one of Jeremy's many subtle tools he uses to his advantage. He doesn't even have to go out of his way to be funny. That's just how he is. To have a personality that is automatically engaging and compelling and makes people want to work with you is so deadly in the game of Survivor. Just being himself, Jeremy is already a better player than half of the people at GTS. When determining how Jeremy beats the other half, you need to look at his social game, which he dominated Nepal with.

We were on separate tribes until the merge, but I do remember thinking that I wish Dave (Jeremy) had been on my tribe more than anyone. Little did I know at the time that a whole bunch of people thought the same thing. When we met back up at the merge, I trusted him. Sure, we were on different sides, but I knew that if my side got the numbers, I'd want to keep Jeremy for a long while and pull off some blindsides with his help. That was just me underestimating him. I had no idea what a clever game he was playing at the time.

So Jeremy got the numbers instead thanks to spnintendo flipping, and at the final 10 came the de-merge. This time, Jeremy and I were on the same tribe, and for whatever reason I thought I could absolutely trust him. Meanwhile, spnintendo was falling in love with Jeremy, and would be more loyal to him than me. We won both challenges and entered the re-merge together. I thought for sure Jeremy was on my side. spnintendo, I was a little hesitant about, but no way would Jeremy be playing me.

He was. Both Jeremy and spnintendo lied to me several times and I was left in the final seven without a close ally. The funny thing is, I didn't blame Jeremy at all, and instead put it all on spnintendo. Jeremy had a way about making himself come off as the victim, or not in control, or something that made it very easy for people to forgive him when he betrayed their trust.

At the final six, I was voted out and I knew it was coming. Even though I kept going to Jeremy to try to save me, when really I should have looked to others, I was booted unanimously. But something interesting happened before I left: right before the votes were due, Jeremy apologized profusely for not being able to save me. He was so sorry I was leaving, because he didn't want it to happen at all. As punishment, he wanted me to vote for him. That was the only way, he said, he could cope with me leaving. So I did it. I voted for Jeremy, and I received the other five votes, and I was gone.

Brilliant, I said. Jeremy played me brilliantly, and it wasn't until after the game was over and I read his confessional that I realized how he played me all along and never had any intentions of going to the final four with me, when I was convinced all game he felt otherwise. I wish I could highlight more details, and I wish the board still existed (DAMN YOU MANZ), but for the reasons I glossed over and many more, Jeremy gave the best performance ever as Dave in Nepal. In other words, he played the best individual game ever. However you want to define it, Jeremy in Nepal owned Survivor all the way around.

About a year ago, Jeremy played in Belize. After his early boot in Tocantins, I definitely wanted to give him a second chance. He started off active enough, and he easily got multiple people on his tribe to like and trust him. I'll never forget how he reacted to finding out he was a target. Usually people would get upset, or vow vengeance, or something. Jeremy would go to the person targeting him and say something along the lines of, "I know you want to vote me out. Can we talk about it? I want to make sure I didn't do anything wrong and we can fix this."

Wow. And the funny part is, Jeremy sounded 100% innocent when he said this. He did it again later on with Richard/Michael Payan after the merge. But before that happened, Jeremy once again completely flipped on his tribe after the swap. I remember reading the PMs as it happened. Somehow, someway, Jeremy didn't come off as an evil traitor who no one could trust. Instead, he told the other tribe he needed help. He swiftly painted his former tribe members as the bad guys, and just like that, Jeremy jumped alliances and survived three votes to make the merge.

He was now in the perfect position: he had an in with the majority tribe, who had seven members compared to the three from Jeremy's tribe. With all the drama going on, Jeremy wisely kept his head low and let the threats take each other out. First Payan, then Maj was booted for being a challenge threat. Next, after an insane weekend of power shifts, Brett Bower made a costly mistake and was booted 4-3-1. Jeremy was on the outside of this vote, as he had just tried to vote out someone from his original tribe.

What would Jeremy do now? He was in an interesting position. There were seven people left and everyone wanted Jeremy's vote, yet he wasn't actually seen as the swing vote for whatever reason. That role was given to Cassidy. In the end, Cassidy voted for Tina/Alffmix, but Jeremy made a very interesting move; he wanted to be sure that he made the move opposite of Cassidy no matter what. When Cassidy told him that he voted out Alffmix, Jeremy switched alliances and voted out Dictatorship, sending the power player out of the game 4-3.

Ooh, was Jeremy in trouble now! It didn't matter. He was able to gather the votes to boot Cassidy next, who he claimed was his biggest threat. At the final five, the new alliance broke apart as Jeremy and Survivaholic had to target each other. Jeremy won the day, as he had been preparing his allies for this day for awhile now. There was a tie at the final four, but this time Jeremy wasn't involved. Though he lost an ally, he made the final three against two people who were sure to take each other.

What was Jeremy to do? First, he made a thread for the jury calling them out and being all angry at them. Of course this was a ploy, but he hoped it would have some affect on his two opponents that would convince them to take him to the final two. He didn't win the final challenge, but in an incredibly shocking decision, Jeremy was taken to the end anyway by guatemala fanfic, and Alffmix was voted out.

What a FTC Belize had. Jeremy and GF went back and forth, taking not-so-subtle jabs at each other until finally they just duked it out, declaring their game as the best and wondering what the hell their opponent was thinking. Jeremy seemed to be losing and was getting slightly frustrated as a result. The jurors sensed this, and at this moment even I questioned whether or not he could win.

In the end, he did. Cassidy was the swing vote and voted for the best player, Jeremy, handing him the win in a 4-3 vote. After playing an insane game in which he jumped alliances and betrayed more people than in Nepal, Jeremy came away as the winner. I said in Nepal Jeremy played the best overall game I've ever seen, especially in the social aspect. It's quite possible that in Belize, he played the best strategic game, which you don't hear about often. He had the foresight to do things such as vote the opposite way of Cassidy at the final seven, then boot him at the final six, and then work on allies days in advance to prepare for his inevitable war with Survivaholic. And how he convinced GF to take him to the final two I'll never completely understand, but that was a great strategic move as well. He flipped so many times in that game it was ridiculous, but in the end four jurors respected his game enough to let him win.

Jeremy transcends other ORG players on the psychological level. I've never seen a mind work as complex as his when it comes to strategy and social gameplay. If you've heard about Jeremy writing notes about a game in a notebook as the game happens, then you've heard the truth. He doesn't just limit his thoughts to a board's confessional. I know he kept notes for Nepal, at least, and possibly Belize as well.

Jeremy is without doubt the best ORG player I've ever seen, and probably will ever see. If he ever makes it on Survivor, he'll win, no questions asked, and will be regarded as one of the best to ever play the game. On top of that, I know he'd make for an excellent television character, because he's just so damn hilarious, something that he conveys online which is very tough to do.

But beyond the humor, Jeremy understands Survivor better than any ORGer. He is, in a word, brilliant in that he can play and think in such an unconventional way and take risks that others would call stupid. He can get even the best players to trust him and love him with just one PM. He is able to betray people he calls his best friends and then either get them to side with him at the very next Tribal Council, or get their jury vote at the end of the game.

There is no other player out there like Jeremy. And for what you've read above, and so many other reasons, Jeremy is the best ORG player I've ever seen.

I've only ever played with Jeremy once as Spencer in Tocantins, and I loved him and I wanted to keep him around but it didn't work out. And then I never got to meet him as Shambo in Samoa. Hopefully Jeremy hasn't retired and we'll get to play together again one day.

Gratz Jeremy!

For what it's worth, Jeremy was amazing for the two days Final Fantasy was on the first board.

I'm a bit surprised at the order... like ts2 said, I think a lot of people were expecting SP to rank first (and I expected DGT to be #2) but Jeremy is <3

The only game I've played with DGT before is BR and he was the HBIC there. Of course :D Oh there was also Belize but he self destructed intentionally I think lol

SPGOD  Everybody knows SP is an amazing gamer <3

Jeremy... I was so disappointed in a few recent games to find him show up in cast reveals and turn out to be one of the early boots because I guess RL got in the way :( He was awesome as Greg though... y'know if I can look past the fact that he sunk everybody on Bomba except for himself :P Definitely a hilarious player and he made the correct moves to get himself to the end and ultimately win... can't fault him for that. Still, Teresa making it further than Susan/Rodger is :alien

Greg  Gratz! :dance

If I had been in your position, I would have seen exactly how off the wall Greg was with his antics and had gone after him like I was trying to get you to do. I knew you would get voted out after I did and you just did not see it unfortunately. I told you Tina was with Greg but you never listened.

Much love to the lovable scamp. :)

Jeremy is so innovative. I think that's what seperates him from many players, you already said it all Jeff but he plays in such a unique way and on top of that he gets it to work for him.

Greg was awesome to watch in Belize. I remember thinking "Greg is crazy!" at several points in the game but it all came full-circle and worked out for him.

I've only gotten to play with Jeremy in Tocantins (unless you count Samoa) and after butting heads we eventually just decided to start having random conversations with each other and I grew to love him. At that point it was too late to really sew things up but he was hilarious and totally charming.

Outside of ORGs Jeremy is just as hilarious and awesome.
