Great...another list I won't make.  <_<

Yep. I didn't do so well in anything I was involved in with Jeff.

I was gonna do a ranking of the top 10 people who never make lists but figured there'd only be me and you on it. <3

I've already decided that I'll most likely be writing the last update to my Survivor seasons ranking late tonight, and I don't want to do two at the exact same time. I'll update this thread now, and the Survivor seasons one later. ;)

Let me just remind everyone that this list is blatantly and obviously subjective. My ORG experiences are different from everyone else's, a statement that each ORGer can make. I am NOT listing the top 12 players of all time. I am simply listing my list of top 12 players I've seen over the past three years I've been playing and hosting. Another year from now, it's very possible that this list could change. As for the time being, I am confident with what I have, as these 12 players have displayed the best ORGing skills I've seen since the fall of 2007.

As I said in the first post, I will include a short list of Referenced Games with each update. Essentially, these are the main games I'm basing the entry on, and in short, that player on. I'll do my best to bring up both positive and negative points about each player in this list, but don't worry, it'll be in the form of constructive criticism, if anything.

So, without further ado, here is #12......

survivorninja

Referenced Games:

Final Fantasy (3rd)
Samoa (6th)
The Office (10th)
Heroes vs. Villains (3rd)

Ninja is, without question, one of the best UTR (under the radar) players I've ever seen. He's done it expertly in two games I've seen: Final Fantasy and Samoa, and arguably in Heroes Vs. Villains as well.

My first interaction with Ninja was actually in Yuku Survivor 4. He was booted right before the jury and then started throwing insults at me. Since I didn't know him at all at the time, I thought he was being serious. Very quickly, however, I learned it was all just a silly game to him and he didn't mean a thing he said.

Soon after, we were thrown into Final Fantasy together. As it was my first ORG with him, I would have never guessed he was Barret. I underestimated him (as well as the rest of the cast) and he was able to dupe me shortly after the merge. He wasn't incredibly active on our original tribe, but just active enough for me to like him and, more importantly, trust him. I saw him as a weak, ineffectual player who needed a power player like myself to hold his hand through the game.

Boy, was I dead wrong about that.

Ninja knew what he was doing the entire time, and after the merge successfully helped blindside me at the final nine. At this time I still thought Barret had no idea what he was doing, but he continued on and eventually made the final three. Clearly there were others that had a strong hand in helping him get there, but Ninja's strategy remained the same: stay below the radar, let the other big threats take each other out, and play up the social game. And that's exactly what he did. His game was so well-hidden that he even admitted the jury would have a hard time voting for him since we had no idea what he did.

Not long after Final Fantasy was FML's Samoa, where Ninja played as Kelly. Again, he played a smooth social game and flew under the radar. After the swap, a tight alliance was formed, and he wasn't a part of it. At the merge, his original Galu tribe got the numbers and took down Foa Foa, but alongside this Pagonging, Ninja employed a very powerful tactic that should be used by every player out there: he built extremely solid relationships with the outsiders/those in the minority.

This helped him for two reasons:

1. If he made it to the final two, they would most likely vote for him to win since they liked him and they knew his game.

2. If he was going to be betrayed by his own Galu members, the outsiders would tell him and help him out instead.

When the tribes merged, I said Kelly was one of two people who would definitely not win the game. Come final eight and I took my comment back. Ninja stepped up his game, especially the social aspect, and became the #1 contender to win, in my mind. Unfortunately, a mistake by SFGP was made at the final six, and just when Ninja was on the cusp of taking control and sliding into the end, he was voted out. Ninja really doesn't deserve much blame here though.

Ninja finally played in one of my games earlier this year - The Office. Well, his time of being UTR was over, as he played Oscar as the HBIC of the Stamford branch. He took control very easily and personally assembled a strong alliance of four. Ninja admitted that he didn't care so much about winning this game as he did about having fun. When the branches merged into one, Oscar was a major target. He did a good job of getting rid of the target on his back, and it almost worked, but events leading up to the first merge vote caused a lot of chaos and he was voted out. Again, had Ninja played his typical game, he would have made it much further for sure. I appreciate a player who decides to play balls to the wall every once in awhile, knowing it'll probably take him out earlier than normal.

Soon after The Office I watched Ninja play in Heroes vs. Villains, and in my opinion he gave his best performance out of the games listed above. He wasn't quite as UTR as in Final Fantasy or Samoa, but he also didn't become the game's villain like in The Office. He played a strong social game and easily made the merge where his tribe, the Villains, took control. Just like in Samoa, he made close friends out of the people in the minority, and when it was time to turn on their own, Ninja stood above the rest of the Villains as the player at the top of the totem pole. People were too busy trying to get rid of Randy, Jerri, Tyson, and Coach to mess with Ninja. Unfortunately, he landed in 3rd place in a game he should have won.

Ninja hasn't been playing too long compared to a lot of people around here. He's still trying to figure his perfect strategy, but he's extremely close right now. If Heroes vs. Villains is any indication, he's going to have a big win some time soon.

He's on this list because he has nearly perfected the art of playing a very strong social and strategic game while flying below the radar to the point where plenty of people trust him but no one really wants to target him. Sure, he's made mistakes in other games which I haven't mentioned, but these are the games where I paid the most attention due to my role, either as a player or a host/co-host. Those mistakes aside, Ninja is an awesome player, and I really can't wait to see more from him in the future.

I actually considered that, but I've wanted to rank the players themselves for quite some time now. Individual games might happen eventually.

SNinja had a phenomenal social game in NC4 as Evan... which was the main reason some of the Outsiders wanted him out so badly. If that game was any indication, I hope I'll get to play with him again sometime, without the Outsider twist to hinder our relationship. ^_^

Jeff  I'm fully content with 12th (as long as you don't put stupid losers above me). You've got me pegged with the whole starting shit for shits thing.

Glad to see my getting credit for a usually pretty awesome social game, decent strategic game and overall being one of the better UTR players around here without being insignifigant.

I'd say my ORG career has been like a seesaw in a way. I played S2 and Heidi, both pretty OTT hardcore characters and gamers, then I played a string of UTR strategists in Barret/Kelly/Rayne and then back to OTT in Oscar. Courtney was the most balanced so if you're right (and I hope you are) the next time or two I actually put my all into a game should be my first (non mini) win.

Good luck to the top 11.

I have a chance of maybe making it? But I have yet to win so maybe not? :(

I think Maj, Mikester, spnintendo, island sun and 7 other people I can't think of are locks.

Having seen Sninja as S2Amber and then as Barrett I was lolwut? This is the same gamer... Really a joy to watch either as OTT or UTR. And I agree, Courtney in H v V was a superb outing. Clearly my favorite performance of the game and a true front runner for someone who should have won but didn't come awards time.

And I want to throw a little Muppet Elmo love toward Ninja. You didn't break character. Your social game was stellar. And in a game where I never really was sure if my alliances were real or not, Elmo always made me feel secure. It was genuine or at least he made me believe it was so with every PM we exchanged.

SNinja <3 I think SNinja's first game was CR's Faves and it was awesome seeing someone totally new to ORGs do so well and play a very strategic game. From start to finish S2 Amber was at the lead of the pack as a powerplayer.

And of course, Kelly
