Aw (I beat Bluth, score! )I've had so much fun in ORGs and I still can't believe how involved I was for three years of my life. Definitely some great memories and great friends created and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I appreciate the kind words, Jeff. Reliving what I think have been my best performances through reading that write-up was great. But it also makes me sad because it makes me think of how awesome these games have been, but then I realize that I probably won't ever play in one again. I'm just at a different phase in my life right now and don't see it happening. If/when I get the time again, Survivor may be a thing of the past and this board a ghost town, so I'll be out of luck. Just wanted to say thanks to so many that I can consider my friends, at least as close to a friend as someone I've never met in person can be. You guys (you know who you are) are the best.

Time for another update! In spot #8...... Mikester Referenced Games: At The Movies (5th) Tocantins (4th) Fans vs. Favorites (4th) Samoa (8th) This one is peculiar, isn't it? I don't have a single game listed here which Mikester won, compared to my last three entries on this list. So how can I rank Mikester above certain players when I've never been involved in a game that he's won? Of course I'll tell you why, but I think it should be obvious that Mikester left a very strong impression on me even though I've never seen him win. It all started in early 2009 when I was in At The Movies. I was playing as The Joker and never really made strong alliances in the beginning. Instead, I just freaked people out. They didn't trust me, and for good reason. I knew I could rely on my challenge strength since I know movies pretty well, and sure enough, I was deemed as one of the stronger challenge players on my tribe after just two rounds. At that point, I dropped my schtick realizing what I had to do to not only secure my spot in the game, but also to help my tribe win or else we'd be Ulonged. We were down to seven players in our tribe, and I didn't have an alliance (at least that I believed in). Enter Tyler. The guy seemed to really trust me, for whatever reason, and soon enough he told me how he was involved in an alliance with three other people. He didn't trust them and wanted to flip on them, and he needed my help to do so. Tyler and I talked constantly that weekend, trying every which way to shift the power in our tribe to us. Even though we didn't get our way in the next vote, we lost again when we only had six members and Tyler and I took a gamble: we wanted to tie the vote. I wanted to take the risk, and Tyler wanted to take the risk. If it didn't go our way, we'd both be screwed, and Tyler would probably go first because he'd be betraying an alliance and he was seen as weaker in challenges than me. Anyway, we ended up tying the vote and it worked out in our favor. We took control of our tribe and controlled it for our next vote as well. At this point I was absolutely convinced that Tyler was spnintendo. Very very few players are willing to flip their tribe upside down by taking a risk on a tie vote, especially before a merge or a swap. After the game, I find out it was some guy named Mikester. Who? I've never heard of the guy, but I like him. We played the game together for roughly two weeks, maybe a little more, and Tyler became one of my favorite allies ever. He was so smooth and so good at playing two sides like he did until we caused the tie. He was a risk-taker, which I love. It was this game that made me want him in Tocantins really badly. Thankfully he accepted and he played as Sydney the woodland goddess. He had a fairly straightforward pre-merge as Jalapao won five of the six immunity challenges. All the while, Mikester made strong bonds and multiple alliances within his tribe to the point where he was very well-protected. The merge came and Mikester, known to be a strong backbone to the big Jalapao tribe, was targeted by Timbira. He won the second individual challenge, further proving he was a force to be reckoned with. The game went on after a couple of major power shifts, and around the final six or so, I suddenly realized how strong Mikester really was as a gamer. It was something I noticed by reading PMs, and I don't think I could have seen it otherwise. I made a post in my host confessional about it, ending with this:
It was something I never saw in At The Movies. Going into the details about what Mikester did and how he did it would be a little confusing, but I'll just say that he knows how to work multiple people within an alliance to make them distrust others, and he does it beautifully. Unlike At The Movies, Mikester hadn't needed to take a big risk in Tocantins, even this late in the game. It didn't matter. Mikester continued to prove why he was such a strong and capable player. I ran into Mikester again soon after in Fans vs. Favorites in the summer of 2009. No one on the Favorites tribe really knew him except for me. Still, I made certain that he was included in my alliance's plans, and soon enough he was considered to be a core member of that alliance. Early on in the game Mikester found a HII and though he didn't need to play it, he did so anyway, showing everyone that it wouldn't be easy to rid the game of him. Compared to the previous two games, FvF isn't the best example of Mikester's great gameplay. Ultimately, he came in 4th place. A few months later he played in FML's Samoa as Natalie, and I was a co-host. I remember reading his first confessional in which he stated he would finally win a game, and it would be this one. I liked the confidence, and I also wrote in my confessional that I had Mikester winning the whole thing. For the first couple weeks of the game, Mikester ran the Foa Foa tribe. Everyone loved him, though he wasn't seen as the person on top of the totem pole. Plus he had the best avatar ever, aside from Laura in Chaos Big Brother, so how could you not like Natalie? The merge came, and unfortunately, Mikester's alliance lost power. He ended up in 8th place. Had he gotten the numbers at the merge, however, I think he would have won the game. He was so good and played really well up until that point. Mikester comes in at #8 ahead of the other players because he is able to mix in a strong social game, almost impeccable, with a risk-taking nature that will give him the big moves to hold over any FTC opponent he may face. Sure, he had a bad game in Kiribati where he was the fourth boot, but as he said, that game was weird for him. Otherwise, Mikester is a very strong and reliable player. It's no wonder why he often finishes in the final five or better in almost any given game. Mikester has a history of getting to 5th, 4th, even 3rd and 2nd but not winning. Not just any player can do that. Sure, you could argue that his end-game must not be strong if he always comes so close yet doesn't win. I argue that no player is perfect, and Mikester has learned his lesson: he has won two games fairly recently, maybe both this year? Fact check me on that one if I'm wrong. Mikester makes for a great ally. If you gain his trust, you have it for the rest of the game and you'll never ask for a better partner in crime. In At The Movies, we shared everything with each other. We were essentially the same player, and Mikester was good enough to make sure that no one ever found out how close we were. I was more than comfortable in handing my game to Mikester, and vice versa, because we played off each other so well. When one had an idea, chances are the other was thinking the same thing. And in the case of this ranking, I know Mikester has recently been thinking that he wasn't going to appear on this list. For the first time ever, I'm glad we weren't thinking alike.

You are totally right about Mikester as Sydney. I made no bones about it. If Sydney had made the F2 with either JT or Taj, she had my vote . I thought she completely outplayed both Taj and JT but it was subtle (and I say this having liked JT better than Sydney.) I just knew there was tons of game in the person behind Sydney and it showed with each round. Great addition to this list! |

eek Yea like you said, I didn't think I'd make the list after a lot of the players showing up had been in games with me and won and I had never won any that you had seen. But I'm really grateful to have made the list! Thanks for the write-up! |

Mikester is incredible he's a tremendous ally and even when not in an alliance with him he still comes across very trustworthy. In 3/4 of the games we've been in the same game in we've made F4 together. Good luck charm? And island sun, I hope you don't permanently retire or at least still drop by you're a huge part of GTS. I can't imagine GTS being a ghosttown, it's just too awesome for that.
