The first episode I saw was the very first one. I even have it on tape still somewhere. (I have 13 to 14 seasons on tape.  )

On that note, I taped every single Survivor season for years. 13 or 14? Try beating 17! That's right - I taped every season, from Borneo through Gabon. When it came time for Tocantins, two things happened:

1. VHS's were dying
2. I discovered the Youtube page for every single Survivor and TAR season ever

So Gabon was the last season I got on tape. I've even ditched/taped over some seasons since then, especially the ones that are now on DVD. But for years I was the proud owner of every Survivor season ever on VHS.

ETA: Yes, I realized the VHS wave died long before Tocantins aired. I just meant for me personally, I had no direct access to a VHS anymore once I was out of college.

I actually used VHS to tape Survivor HvV and Lost season 6. I was in college and had no DVR so I used VHS.

I wish VHS would come back tbh. It never skips, it's not a bad format.

I actually stopped because I realized my VHS tapes were dying also. And since I could download every episode that was showing from the internet, I used that for my record. I have every season since season 8 downloaded as well as those that came out on dvd.
