Awww as I was reading the writeup, I realized that your love for this movie is probaby because of your FAITH too. :( I agree, it was painful while watching it.

UNTIL THIS:

I don't even have to believe in Jesus and God and faith and religion to say the following: It's not.

I'm actually pretty much agnostic, with a very vague sense of leaning toward Christianity.

I will admit that a large part of that write-up was done immediately after I saw the film in February 2003 -- when I was completely agnostic.

:P

No, it was a full write-up 7 years ago. I chopped out half of it and wrote 50% new stuff for this.

Passion puts emphasis the part of Christ's life that I find to be the least important part of his journey. I know this is in conflict with most Christian's belief but for me the point is that he came back not that he died in the first place :). Also the healing beforehand and the ascension > his death and suffering too. Weird soapbox to make right now but there it is.

I don't think arguing about religion is a great idea. I definitely do feel like that's a VERY important part of his journey though, as far as the suffering itself, the betrayals of his disciples, and the reasoning of the suffering (plus the true weight of what he was doing). But at the same time, I honestly don't remember a whole lot about the specifics. I went to Church til I was 18 but I never really paid attention. -_-

But anyway, ONCE :<3 I love that movie.

I still haven't read all of this Passion of Christ writeup but I'll defo finish reading this but anyway, I didn't realize that this movie is 7 years ago. I remember watching this in the movie house and almost everyone in there was crying. I wasn't crying although I kind of felt sad too but I just forced myself to cry because I felt like I don't have an established faith because there are no tears falling from my eyes. :drop

I love Dodgeball. I haven't seen Once, but I love "Falling Slowly" from that movie.

The first of the PotC movies is the only one I haven't seen (apparently they're making a fourth), but the 2nd and 3rd are amazing.

I like Once, it's very simple yet realistic. The actors seem like they're not acting at all.

God I really missed a lot of movies. Even after working at a place were I get free rentals for two years I still haven't seen a ton of these movies despite them being on my list.

I remember that I thought it was hilarious that my old fashioned grandpa [RIP :(] loved Brokeback Mountain "except for the guys kissing part". Like wtf? :P

Kyle we should probably discuss that in private or something.

I actually bought "Once" after Kris Allen performed Falling Slowly (so amazingly) on Idol.

Kris' version  although it isn't as popular of an opinion, I love Crystal and Lee's duet of Falling Slowly as well. :<3

No. The first is the only good one. For what it's worth, that first one is great. But the other two are sloppy and don't stand up well on their own at all.

I will be shocked if you actually read a word of the write-up about it simply because it was me writing it up. But if you did, then .
