I will guess number 6 is Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby since I have yet to see in honorable mention yet.

Wendy And Lucy<333

Michelle Williams performance is one of the most powerful things I have experienced in a film . It probably wouldn't make my top 10 of the decade solely for the old guy. I completely got lost in the experience watching this except for the few times he was on the screen, since he seemed more like stock charecter friendly old guy then a real person.

You support Michael Haneke AND WENDY AND LUCY.

You are wonderful.

The Departed is okay.
Juno is hella overrated. But you gotta love Ellen Page.
Inglourious Basterds is okay, love the cinematography. I defo love its plot but geez, there's just some times in Tarantino movies that bores me. Yes, he's very witty, the script is good, but I probably just don't have the personality of his target audience. Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds suffer from long conversation scenes for me but I ended up liking both just because you can really tell that his movies are badass. When it comes to action scenes, that's when I enjoy Tarantino films. Gotta love Death Proof and Planet Terror and it may not be his best but I still love them.
Moulin Rouge  But if I'd make a list, it'll be far from my top 10.

Like island sun, I'm not fond of movies with animals in it. I like Homeward Bound but the rest is meh. I like Hachiko and Marley & Me though. :<3 I hate the comedy ones like Cats and Dogs, revege of Kitty Galore. :ew I hate movies with talking animals.

I hope Before Sunset appears in this ranking. :hee (just realized this movie is filled with convo too) :P

Ellen Page is awesome, but yeah I'm not a fan on Juno. I think her performance could have been even better if the movie had been more honest and had more depth.

With the exception of Moulin Rouge, all of those honourable mentions are quite exceptionable.

And I have to disagree with the posters not liking Juno. Probably one of the best comedies of the last decade and far and away the best English language film of 2007 IMO. But I'm not too bothered by the hate it gets since I despise that unnecessary parentheses comedy starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel that everybody creamed themselves over, so I guess Juno's just the opposite for me.

I hate Juno. I actually disagree about Ellen Page -- I find her "cute quirky" act annoying, and Juno is exactly the kind of indie flick I hate. It's more a sitcom episode than an actual movie, and the neat, pat, kumbaya feel of the movie drove me up the wall.

Departed - not exactly a great movie, but had some great performances by Leo, Matt, and Mark

Goodnight and Goodluck - one of my favorites, although I can see how some would find it dry

House of Flying Daggers - SWOON! Again, one of my favorite movies of the past decade. So visually gorgeous, and had a good storyline too. Proves that kung-fu can be romantic
Why aren't you pointing your finger at grows, who I have provided sufficient evidence against? She is the starter of all things evil in games.

I agree completely. I fucking despise Juno and the fact that something so retarded can be so popular pisses me off. The writing was retarded... fuck you Diablo Cody. Honest to blog? Really? Pleeeeaaaase die.

Aw, the Departed is out, huh?

Bowling for Columbine didn't resonate for me, despite me agreeing with the points raised. I think Moore's approach was totally off. Sicko was a much stronger film, in my opinion.

The lack of commentary on WENDY AND LUCY is saddening, but not surprising. ;)

#5 is guaranteed to be a movie that more than 2 of you have seen.

I loved Juno. I get why some people would dislike it, especially if you aren't into the quirky vibe that it has.

I love dog movies generally, even if some have a sad ending. Beethoven, Snow Dogs, Marley & Me <3

I'm with you on that but the love came from Inception. Such a badass.

But Zooey   > Ellen Page

[500] Days of Summer > Juno, any day all day.

Also using unnecessary brackets is only slightly better than unnecessary parentheses -_-

Yeah look, I get this, but I think people look at the dialogue and take it for what it is because it's a comedy. But I think there's a deeper argument that can be used here, that Cody wrote the script with such OTT jargon because she's making a point about her characters. Characters like Juno & Leah speak like tards because they're desperate WANNABES. Yes, some people find Juno cool including me, but like one of the characters (Bleaker) in the movie says... they try really hard. Juno speaks like that because she's insecure about her own life and about love. She substitutes the absences in her life with something that she feels makes her stand out. And isn't that really what the movie's about?

There's another hint about Juno's faux-hipster style in the beginning of the movie where she incorrectly talks about Morgan Freeman being in The Bone Collector. It's an intentional goof, it shows us that Juno's maybe not as smart and cool as she thinks she is, but we still end up loving her anyway (well, some of us I guess).

Interesting point, I never looked at Juno that way. But what bugged me so much about the movie was that I *think* in the end we were supposed to think, "Oh, how cute. Lemons out of lemonade." The movie wanted to be both quirky comedy and after school special.

I actually don't think the topics of Juno lend themselves that well to the quirky indie comedy treatment. I guess I also don't really approve of the message that an unplanned pregnancy and giving up a baby for adoption can all be smoothed over with a few jokes and hugs. I'm not saying that kind of subject matter always deserves a humorless self-righteous approach but Juno was all just way too cutesy and pat for me.

This this this. Like I didn't want to start a debate but the way "Juno" presented the choices women have was.... inaccurate and offensive and the fact that it targets a teen audience makes its message scary to me.

Yeah, that's something I've heard a lot but I guess it all boils down to genre and the fact that perhaps Diablo Cody thought that there were enough films that treated it too "seriously" so she wanted to have a little fun? I think she did learn in the end a bit about responsibility but it's easily glossed over, especially by its target audience.

Zooey is hot. How can you hate her? She looks incredibly old and haggard in Almost Famous though which is weird because it's 10 years ago.
