It just got added to Netflix's Instant Watch, right? I'll be seeing it shortly. <3

Don't PT....

For once I agree with Martae.

It's fucking disgusting to watch, like what were they thinking? The two main characters though, well the girls... I felt so bad for them. I wanted a happy ending but nope. <_<

Don't do it. I heard about it a couple weeks ago from some losers, I mean awesome people, on this site, so I found it the next day online and watched it. I was amused/fascinated but then about 2/3 through the movie a certain scene actually made me physically ill, which has never happened before when watching a movie.

It's really not worth it.

There are two scenes in my history of movie-watching that I couldn't physically bring myself to watch. One is the (female) genital mutilation in Antichrist. The other is the final surgical assault in Inside.

As a result, both of those movies have earned a permanent spot in my memory. We'll see if Human Centipede does the same.

(500) Days of Summer or Garden State have the best movie soundtrack of all time. At least one of them has an Oscar as proof.

Neither one has any Oscars though :shrug Also the Score Oscar will be forever dead after they awarded Brokeback over three much more memorable nominees. lol at their random nomination for The Hurt Locker though

Gustavo Santaolalla is like an unbleachable shitstain on the underwear of the Academy. The fact that they gave the motherfucker an Oscar for BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN and BABEL, two of the most insipid and insufferable scores in recent years, was the worst kind of insult.

Seen. I'm conflicted, and not sure what to say. Not because the movie was grotesque or absurd, but because I'm legitimately unsure how to judge it.

First, a movie doesn't have to win Oscar's to say that a movie is great. I love (500)'s soundtrack too. They chose the best songs to bring nostalgia to every scene of the movie.

Second, I love Brokeback's score.

BROKEBACK won over THE CONSTANT GARDENER, MUNICH, PRIDE & PREJUDICE and MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA.

Those four.

Those.

Santaolalla can choke on rotten shit and die.

In fairness to those 4, I haven't watched those movies.

But then again, Sandra Bullock winning over Meryl Streep, etc is :alien

I love Sandra's performance of Leigh Ann but heck, I don't think it's winner worthy. People are gonna say, you don't need to transform so much, or cry so much, or act so much to win it but I felt like Leigh Ann is, as much as pleasurable to watch her in The Blindside, it's not really worth of a Best Actress win for me.

Dario Marianelli!

I preferred Atonement's score to P&P, so I'm glad he won for that one. I only know the song from Memoris of a Geisha because of the hummingbird routine on SYTYCD. I can't recall any songs from Munich or Constant Gardener (even if both movies are incredible).

Probably the worst moment about Brokeback winning for score was they then took the theme song ("The Wings") and gave it a mega-gay dance remix that I kept hearing at clubs and on the radio. That REALLY made it suck.

Doesn't John Williams have about 20 Oscars already, anyway?
Famewhore Academy 4 - Fox (6/20)
Survivor Nicaragua - Chase Rice (9/40)
Big Brother: Fuller - Jaye (5/16)
The Nightclub 4 - Jaxx (6/20)

I'm pissed at the voters for being enormously retarded and I'm pissed at Santaolalla existing. The only music of any real worth that man has composed is "Iguazu".

Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Theodore Shapiro, Michael Nyman, Michael Giacchino and Alexandre Desplat are some of my favorite musical scorers. Glad that some of you pays attention in it too. :kudo

Rufus Wainwright's He's My Brother is great in Zoolander.

Is musical score just the same as soundtrack?

Not in the slightest. A soundtrack is technically just that -- all sound of a film, but it's become synonymous with the entire musical component of a film. This means, if applicable, both songs/previously written music and score combined. Original score is just that, the composer(s) music written specifically for the film, regardless of other musical sources. Take FORREST GUMP (you're welcome ThaiSu) -- Alan Silvestri's score exists apart from the massive source music soundtrack, and you can find both the score and the soundtrack on separate album releases.
