United 93 was an amazing film. I didn't see it when it first came out but I think it was on sale at some Blockbuster closing sale so I bought it for cheap. And it was a great buy for cheap.

Like you said, one movie I hope everyone gets to "experience." Becuase that's what it is. Not just a film. I grabs your emotions. For me, I usually hate knowing the endings to movies before I see them, but for this it didn't matter. I knew it was coming, but the ending was so well done and seemed so real.

Great write-up as well. You did the movie justice for sure.

United 93 <3

My girlfriend refused to watch it with me because she knew it would be too sad for her.

Before the #1 film of the past decade is posted, here is the last bunch of Honorable Mentions.  If a film didn't make it into either list, it doesn't mean I didn't like it -- there simply are just too many films that find a way to be worthwhile for whatever reason.  If everything could be included, life would be wonderful.

When I watched United 93 and it ended I just sort of sat there for a few minutes, dumbfounded at how powerful it was. Really amazing movie.

Zoolander didn't show up on DGT's honorable mention list, so we at least know what #1 is. If it's not, I've seen a total of 0 movies in his top 10.

All of the UNITED 93 love is awesome to read. Very encouraging that it's managed to reach so many.

It's not. You should fix your 0/10 record. These are worth it.

A single hint about #1 -- if you've noticed, this entire list has a pattern, and it's that all films up to this point are ones that are both directed and written (or co-written) by the same person. #1 does not break this pattern.

I'll never see the Passion of the Christ. The rest are now on my list of movies I need to see (behind Rounders and The Graduate).

Then again, Braveheart was awesome, but that was before we knew what a psycho he was.

Can't remember if this was an honorable mention but... Synecdoche, New York?

I'm not giving a film by Mel Gibson any money, just as I won't pay to see Tom Cruise. I've lived my life so far, so I can't be missing out on much.

I am going to ask why did you like Dodgeball more than Zoolander?

I predict the 2005 Argentine Masterpiece El Aura Directed by the late Fabien Bielensky will be number 1.

I have to think the number one has to better than those. Donnie Darko in particular.
