It's been a long time since I watched it. It's a brutally honest and intimately tragic drama that really does linger with you, especially when you see those concluding scenes. And that last scene which you posted the picture of... was haunting. I didn't even expect that to be number one. Never crossed my mind because I forgot about it until you pulled it out. Yeah, it's good. |

Netflix says I'd only rate this movie a 3.6. Honestly the only movie I've seen on the official list is Unbreakable and I'm confused as to why it beat out some of your excellent honorable mentions. Zombie Strippers was pretty great though.

Wow, I don't know why In the Bedroom never crossed my mind. It's a FANTASTIC movie. I can't find a single thing wrong about it. The performances, the pacing, the script, everything is perfect. A great choice for #1. |

That right there might be the truly ultimate tragedy about IN THE BEDROOM -- people don't remember it until reminded of it, through no fault of the film's quality. |

I haven't seen #1, and have only seen 1 movie in the top 10 I'd probably wanna see "Wendy and Lucy" and "Before Sunrise" from your list. |

Jim Broadbent made this move as did Marisa Tomei. I've never been much of a Sissy Spacek fan, but an all around-good movie. My #1 would still be "The Royal Tenenbaums" but that's me. |

Tom Wilkinson. Jim Broadbent that year won the Oscar for IRIS and was also in MOULIN ROUGE. Both are the greatest.

I have to agree, ITB was a great and pretty polarizing movie. The scene where Spacek smacks the shit out of Tomei's character gives me chills. I love Sissy Spacek in everything she does, but I think this is my favorite of hers because she was so candid and vulnerable. It's absolute bullshit Halle Berry beat her for the Oscar that year purely because she's Black. |
