So I guess I'm missing out on the allure that is "24." The first episode of the first season is likely the most boring episode ever. After that one though it's action-packed.

There are a lot of people who would have given ANYTHING to be there and he quit just because he couldn't handle a couple more hours? I'm really disgusted. It completely ruined the rest of the year for me.

This was one of those situations where you yourself know a judgment call was wrong, but you can understand how that judgment call got made so you're not screaming "BULLSHIT!" about it. Guinness record rules state that eyes must be kept on the screen at all times and cannot look away. Problem was, with so many people at first, the judges were being REALLY lazy in applying that (and other rules). When it got down to 20 of us, they decided shit had to get real, so all rules would now be strictly enforced. My problem was that my neck was killing me and one of the only comfortable ways to sit was crouched with my neck angled low toward my knee and watching out of the corner of my eye. Only problem is, my seat was in a back corner and judges were all either up in the front or walking down a small center isle. From their angles, they thought I had just fallen asleep with my head on my knees. And the way you get eliminated is, they make the determination on you, record the result, THEN come and get you. Determination has already been made, no way to counter it. Even the people next to you saying "no, he really wasn't asleep..." doesn't matter. Guinness makes very conservative calls because, in their own words, if a situation is unsure, they'd much rather just eliminate the uncertainty instead of let it stay and potentially damage the results (if faulty). So I got deemed out, there was no way to defend myself, so at that point you just sort of have to grab your shit, sign out, grab your series box set and be on your way. The final problem wasn't that I was asleep, but that I wasn't showing clearly enough that I was awake. I get that. And something like that is no one's fault but my own. And I KNEW irony would fuck me somehow. There were four times that I HAD fallen asleep (for 10-30 seconds), but they never saw it. But when I'm alert, awake and not tired? That's when I get called for sleeping.
