Russell was more important than like...75% of the cast at least? Most of the drama centered around him both on the Villains tribe and post-merge. And if you go by confessionals he has 33% more airtime than the 2nd most visible person that season so...

so nothing. in hvv he earned the airtime he got and he wasn't even ridiculously visible, many others were just as important to the season and many others received more air-time than they actually should have.

in samoa we got too much russell at the expense of everyone else and at the expense of what was actually happening. to me there's a HUGE difference between russell's repetitive unnecessary confessionals in samoa that actually had little to do with what was happening and russell's actual impact on the hvv season being highlighted.

He did earn the airtime he got because of how significant he was to the season, yes. But this season also had quite a bit of focus on Chase/revolved around him and after this season we know that you don't need to have a ton of screentime to tell that story, which happened with Chase.

I disagree about people receiving more airtime than they should have. Coach is the only person that received more airtime than I thought was warranted, because outside of Russell/Parvati/Tom/JT/Rupert, for an All Stars season it was poorly edited. I don't feel like Sandra, Jerri, Colby, Danielle, Candice, Amanda, Courtney, and Tyson were really developed all that well. Russell still had plenty of confessionals in HvV going on about how he was the best player ever that were irrelevant to what was actually happening too, which could have gone to other players.
