In case you haven't heard (and you'd have to live under a rock not to know about this), Casey Anthony has been found not guilty of first degree murder and child neglect. Personally, I was always unsure over the actual innocence of her (it sure as hell looked shady), but I figure I'm not as qualified to make a decision as a jury of 12 who was presented with all of the evidence and able to discuss all of it. It really is kind of disgusting how people are calling for hers and the juror's deaths though...really, it's our judicial system. She was found not guilty, therefore she's innocent. There's really no ifs, ands, or buts to it.

I think she's guilty but the verdict being not guilty was so  . Like, so many people watched that trial for the sole reason of seeing her finally get what she deserves (like my mom, aunt, and grandma) and her being not guilty is so  that I can't help but love it

I tend to avoid this kind of saliscious stuff in the news and had no idea what any of this was all about until one of my sisters was talking my ear off about this on the 4th. |

Like what I don't even get is WHY is there allowed to be media coverage in the courtrooms? Isn't that kinda...well, just stupid? |

Media circuses about the cases like this ruin the whole thing. It really shouldn't be allowed. Also the fact that people are blaming the jury just disgusts me... |

I think she definitely is involved in the death of her daughter, but since she faced the death penalty, there sure as hell better be solid proof that she is indeed guilty. And there simply wasn't. I think the defense was ridiculous, but the burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt fell on the prosecutors. They say she faces up to 4 yrs in prison, but that she can count he 3 years she's already been locked up for towards her sentence. CSB |

BTW since the defense was that the dad made it look like Caylee was murdered, will he be in the spotlight now? I wonder if Casey will ever mend her relationship with her parents...yeah right

That's another thing I don't get - why are people blaming the jury instead of the prosecution? It's not the jury's fault there wasn't sufficient evidence to pronounce her guilty. |

I live in Florida, so you guys don't even know how bad the media circus was. It was ridiculous. Everyone was just talking about it nonstop too. At work today it was on the TV and people were like all crowded around as if it was some disaster we were getting. Then the outrage of her being innocent. Meh, I really don't even care, I doubt she is a malicious person and just made some mistakes and is overall a victim. |

How did she NOT get convicted on Child Neglect?  I don't get the logic there. Honestly, I think the jury should be horse whipped on that decision because it was such a retarded one. I do agree that there was not enough proof to send her to death row so I was glad she got off on that but I am overall disgusted she was found not gulity of shit she was obviously gulity of? The fact is: you can't always blame the prosecution when people are found not guility or a mistrial is declared. Sometimes you get a bad jury. I think this jury made a great call on finding her not guilty on cap. charge but a really bad one on not convicting her of child neglect. The way people are behaving though is embarrassing. Just because the cops say you did it...doesn't mean you actually did. You are innocent until proven guilty and she was found innocent in the eyes of the law so I don't have that much outraged. She is definitely guilty in the eyes of the public opinion so the woman is going to have a very hard life. |

Now, I haven't been following the situation too much so I won't go into detail, but it bugs me that some people who didn't know about it's thought was "she smiled when she was found not-guilty, therefore she must have done it!". I was like...she probably smiled because she found out she wasn't going to get the death penalty (which we don't have up here, but still). And people calling for 'death to the jury' is kind of silly. Wouldn't it be Anti-American, to accuse the American judicial system of being incompetent? Why, isn't that considered by some to be treason? Also, is it true the only thing she got charged with was lying to the cops? |

Oh well. She's probably guilty but I guess there wasn't really a solid case against her, not the jury's fault, they did what they were suppose to. Hope she OJ's herself in the years to come and ends up in jail for some other dumb shit. |
