And I guess he's pointing out the ridiculousness of trial by media and public opinion. Tons of stuff I can read about this case online makes her look hella guilty and vile and disgusting for sure, but Thaisu is right that it's against that basic principle for so many people to be saying "oh she's definitely guilty because of what I read", when it hasn't been proven in a court of law. Something is obviously going on for Joss at the moment, he's been different lately.

Seriously though if someone were to go to a funeral and laugh and make inappropriate comments about how "we all have to die eventually" people would rightly tell the douchebag to shut the fuck up because yes no shit everyone has to die eventually but a funeral isn't the appropriate place to give some existential speech about how life doesn't matter. Or, more appropriately, if someone were to complain about how __ is so awful because they made fun of your mentally impaired son, a response like "Oh my god that's just one kid. GLOBAL POVERTY IS WHAT'S IMPORTANT" is just neither here nor there and is trolling. Do you get it now?
