DGT ranks THE 12 BEST FILMS OF 1990-1999!; 2K posts in this goddamn shithole

The 12 Best Films of 1990-1999 The List 1. ??? 2. ??? 3. ??? 4. ??? 5. ??? 6. ??? 7. ??? 8. ??? 9. TITUS (page 8) 10. LAST NIGHT (page 6) 11. THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (page 5) 12. GREMLINS 2: THE NEW BATCH (page 3) As it's the Christmas season, it's only appropriate to expand this list to 12 entries. Even with that, this list is going to be brutal to cull down. In 1999 alone there about 8 movies that I would consider must-haves for this list. My goal is for the #1 entry to be posted (1) before the end of the year and (2) with my 2,000th post. To almost copy-and-paste my preface from the first ranking -- the problem with this ranking is obvious. Not only is it just my own dumbass opinion of what's been done the best since 1990-1999, but even in just my own opinion, narrowing down ANYTHING movie related to just 12 is almost impossible. So there will be a lot of obvious movies that end up left off the list. I hate that I can't include everything, but it can't be helped. I have no doubt that several of my choices will make people go LOLWUT. I look forward to any and all dissenting opinions. I fully acknowledge that for at least a couple of these entries (including one very much in particular), "personal favorite" ends up being more of a justification than "best". I'm also going to enjoy that a bunch of these movies are going to be considered either "old" or "classic" by most of you pre-pubescent dipshits, especially since some of you weren't even zygotes when half of these movies came out. The first entry isn't coming immediately, but it is coming soon. Hint: it's a comedy from the beginning of the decade.

Much like the 2000-2009 list, I'll be throwing out Honorable Mentions before every entry. Not as many, though, just for the sake of keeping at least a tiny bit of mystery as to what may be featured. And also, much like last year's list, there are so many fucking movies I could include as honorable mentions that even picking and choosing those is tough. I always remember so many I wish I could've included but didn't, too, so lists like these are always of-the-moment. Just the way it has to be. With that... the first group of Honorable Mentions. LEON: THE PROFESSIONAL BOOGIE NIGHTS FUNNY GAMES SENSE AND SENSIBILITY WES CRAVEN'S NEW NIGHTMARE (no, seriously) And finally, one that came extremely close to making the final list... X! I loved The Professional!! Natalie Portman and Jean Reno greatest child/adult duo in film history? One of best at least. New Nightmare was OK I guess....little Gage from Pet Cemetery (who is totes hawt these days) was great in that.

Wes Craven's New Nightmare was smart. I mean, it probably wasn't the "best" in the series, but it was definitely the smartest. Funny Games was a very, very frustrating movie. I found myself yelling at the screen (which I almost never do) several times.
