Seve C "Chasing Pavements" Ok 1st of all, no one should ever do Adele. Strike One. The verses were incredibly too low for you. The chorus was really nice and suited your voice the "yeah yeah" will be stuck in my head you have a nice relaxed voice when it's in your range. My other critique was it was so much of the same. Too repetitive. yeah, yeah-eh

MessieBessie- "See You Again" I'm so glad you enjoyed doing this. I'm glad someone did I'm indifferent to this. I don't know what to say. I hear potential, but this song didn't suit you. I can't wait for you to rock "The Climb" and redeem yourself.

Lines "Apparations" I didn't know this song, but I'm buying it now. The mark of a great recording artist. Congrats so much This was really good. You had control and it fit your voice well. I can't wait to hear what else you have in store for us.

Aras "Set Fire to the Rain" Adele This didn't suit you at all, but I hear a lot of potential. Really. I would pursue country. Seriously. I like your voice but not with this song. |

Blueberry "more Adele shit"![]() Ok 1st of all, fix your sound issues. I couldn't hear the track and your voice was like you were in a tunnel. I'm glad you did the Glee mash up. It kept things interesting. Definitely the best of the Adele slaughter this round. You have a nice voice and I was ready to hate it because it's you? It was a nice surprise. Fix your sound issues, though. |

PuPa "Across the Universe"![]() The track sounded like an old record, but your voice ~soared~ over it. I'm biased towards you because I loved you in PPB idol. You have such a nice voice, but this didn't show your full potential. The viewers are in for a real treat <3 Well done and a great way to end round one. |

You folks are far too kind! I'm not gonna be self-deprecating because I do feel like I did a pretty good job, but I'm also not gonna let it go to my head. I'll break out something a little more mainstream next time. Here're my comments: (even though it feels a little disingenuous and self-important to do so as a contestant...) makcrabs (Over My Head by The Fray) - A little flat at the start, but you're way too hard on yourself. It picked up really well from there! I'm a pretty big fan of the stuff from The Fray's first album too, so if it was as bad as you seem to think, I never would have gotten through the whole song. wolfric (Invisible by Clay Aiken) - I completely forgot about this song, so I thank you for reminding me! Jesus Christ, pop music was so much better ten years ago. Anyway, a lotta feeling behind this rendition and, though you're not quite Clay, I liked it a lot! ThePieMan (Circle of Life by Elton John) - Whatta huge voice! It was pitchy in a couple places, but you definitely did it justice. Really nice vibrato too! SeveC (Chasing Pavements by Adele) - Not very risky, but perhaps because of this safeness, you hardly flubbed a single note. It might be a good idea to try something a bit more ambitious next time because I think your rudiments are strong enough to balance out any pitchiness that might result. Nice job! messiebessie (See You Again by Miley Cyrus) - Um... that was pretty bad, but I'm not much into any musician with the last name Cyrus, so I'm gonna blame it on that... that being said, if you do Achy Breaky Heart in a week where it would fit the theme, I promise to vote for you. Aras (Set Fire to the Rain by Adele) - You self-deprecating mawfuckah, that wasn't even bad! Again, like SeveC, not all that ambitious, but as a result also not very pitchy. Same advice I gave to him, basically. How is it that a singer with the talent of Adele seems to result in such respectable covers? She seems like the type who wouldn't be coverable. Rudy (Express Yourself by Madonna) - Rudy does, indeed, know best. *cough* Blueberry (Rumour Has It/Someone Like You by Adele [fuck Glee]) - WTF!? I was expecting a train wreck! It wasn't even that bad! See my comments on SeveC and Aras again, basically. (although maybe not, because I've heard other songs you've done where you pushed way too hard and it sounded like a cat being played like a violin...) I'm kinda disappointed; from all the other comments, I hoping to be able to say "yeah, you can disregard that thing about Adele songs resulting in respectable covers..." PuPa (Across the Universe by The Beatles [though it's more Wainwrighty to me]) - You win. Dats it. Can't wait for next week! |
