wolfric - I think the beginning of this is way too quiet. You gotta TACKLE this song! It's a total rock anthem, you know? I'm not sure if rock is the best genre for you, I think you do better with ballads in between a mid & high register like your song in the first week. It was ballad-y but almost uptempo at the same time and it really showed off the best part of your voice. The chorus is actually pretty strong! Your voice is shaky in some spots, I think you gotta put a lot more STRENGTH into your notes and really hold them. This was good though wolfy! But you gotta be GREAT at this stage! I find you always shine in the choruses of your song choices cause they allow you to go higher. WERK those verses like you own 'em gurl! PuPa - Lol, this is pretty adorable <3 I looove that strong "MAAAAYBE" mid-way through! You definitely have great technique PuPa! Sometimes it affects your performance when you go higher 'cause your mic doesn't seem to be able to support that high of a volume. I'd stand even further away from your mic when singing mebberz? =O But this is good. It's not one of my favorites, I'd really like to hear you sing something emotionally powerful that at the same time allows you to showcase your haunting vocals. I feel like that is your zone that you would totally own! Blue - Your falsettos are pretty, Blue. (LAWD not like that one in Because of You! ) You have good technique and IMO, are a pretty underrated singer. I feel like a broken record but the sound quality is gonna always hinder your performances Blue you have some great notes where a really crisp vibrato is there and it's great. The higher parts are kinda shouty, maybe sing farther from the mic too with those parts? I do feel legit feeling in this performance though, you're a BELIEVABLE singer. That is your greatest strength IMO.lines - Lines, I think this is your best performance yet! You really do things with your voice we haven't heard before! You challenge yourself here and you pull it off. Your falsetto is pretty. I thought it was interesting you went really deep in one of the verses...it feels like you're experimenting during the performance? I don't think that part of your register is your sweet spot. This was such an earnest performance from you, gurl! Overall...the best of the night IMO. AMERICA, WE GOT A HOT ONE TONIGHT! *seal clap* Messie - This is one of your better performances, Messie. The background music is super catchy and elevates the performance! It feels so retro. SUMFIN DEBBIE GIBSON WOULD SANG. You should have more confidence in your voice and put more oomph into your vocals, I think you have it in you. It feels like you're skittish. You gotta tackle it! Pieman - This starting music <3 I FEEL LIKE WE IN EGYPT AND YOU'RE CHARMIN SNAKES W/ YOUR FLUTE. This is a PERFECT song for your voice! I like this quite a bit. The long "Iiiiiii" note you hold at the end is cool and the chorus is strong. This is one of your best performances IMO, Pieman. You do good with the more dramatic songs, this is your niche. |

As guest consultant this stage, I'll chime in a few words. I haven't probably heard every song every round, but I think this is some of the best you guys have put out there so far. Wolfric - I was actually a little bit surprised by this song selection over others, but I'll echo GP's comments that you went out there on the chorus and cemented that solid. I am going do dissent with GP though because while you may be suited more for ballad types, I think your spin on this rock anthem was very AI and for that I'll give you props. You can either be JBJ or you can actually try to make the song work for you, and I think that's what you did here, so good job! PuPa - At the first few notes, I wasn't sure if this would work for you, but I think you eased into this very well and fast. You did a pretty solid job hitting some of the big notes "Baby" "Maybe" "Foolish" and I knew those would be the tricky spots of this song. I didn't realize how short this song was, but it was over on a re-listen before I even finished this. When this song picked up, you picked it up too. Blue - I was talking to GP about this, and damn you need a new mic or something, but I'll listen through the static. I really didn't realize when I threw this out to you how long of a song it was by comparison. I told you when I mentioned this song that it's a tough one. You do really well in a lot of spots, but a few transitions you do miss a few. However, the fact that you went for some of those notes, props. A few rough patches aside, you pulled off some of the trickier parts of this with aplomb. Honestly, I thought you'd improv some of those spots, but I'm glad you took some risks and pushed yourself. lines - This was basically your usual high standard so not surprising. I think this is a week when a LOT of people put out their best stuff thus far, so I was wondering what you'd bring by the time I got to your song. To respond to your comment on your video, the falsetto turned out well. I know the song, but I'm still not so hot on the hi-lo-hi transitions at times. The rest of it was solid though. Great work. messie - You picking this song  I guess I'm no longer upset you didn't pick something I gave you because this probably suits you more than the stuff I sent you. Your energy is undeniable when you push it and I think you really pick it up when the chorus hits each time, and in a song like this, that's mucho importante. The rest of it is easy sailing, but if you can hit the chorus, that's what's remembered more than the rest. TPM - You told me straight off that you were pretty headstrong on picking this, so I was waiting for it. I said about some others how I was glad that there was maybe a slightly different take on the song, but I think you've done as well capturing the original here, with the mood and theme of your performance. I know I wasn't listening to Chris, but I had a fair impersonation here. |
