Alright, does anyone know of a good, reliable way to find college programs that isnt some kind of spam mail trap of some kind? Unfortunately I had to take a medical leave from school and just found out that null and voided my scholarship, and I won't be able to get it back, so I have to start looking again! Yayyy~ So I really don't know where to begin looking for schools minus google or monster or one ofthose sites that causes me to end up on DeVry's calling list and get woken up at 4am by the X Files theme song ringtone with shitty college programs that arent worth my time. I dunno, any suggestions? I have until the fall I guess... |

Why would you want to go to college? You're probably not smart enough to land a career in the field you like and will honestly just wind up working as a bus boy, whilst being $70K+ in debt. |

It actually would be helpful to know what state you're from. It's pretty common for people to go to state flagship schools and leave without any debt. You could always look at usnews's rankings, but I'd take rankings with a grain of salt and look for at what school would fit you most. |

Just don't go to a private college. They are the most overrated shitholes in the country. Kids wonder why they graduate in debt - um it's because you went to Stanford and coughed up $45,000 for an education you could have got at UCLA for half as much - if not less. |

looooooooooool Also that college match site is what I was talking about. My first time around looking for schools was literally acquiring a giant bag full of generic mailers and going for whatever school offered the biggest scholarship and was in a 4 hour range. I burned all the mailers though so now I have nothing. It doesnt really matter too much anyway. I'm going to end up penniless and alone due to being an art major (LOL) anyway! And I live in PA. Not the part with Phillie or Pittsburgh. The part with Billy Joel songs, coal and The Office. And corruption scandals and literally nothing else. I was going to school in the south part of the state that's still not Phillie or Pittsburgh but was instead Quakers, Mennonites and cows. Both parts are pretty terrible. But anyway I have nothing better to do and I'm exactly halfway through so I might as well finish school. |

btw i want to minor/possibly fall back on something actually useful, so I'm not doing an art school. They're expensive and/or scammy anyway. |

Yeah I'm going through the same process. I'm from Tennessee but I plan on getting the hell out of here for college. I want to go into Etholgy, which isn't a very common program so I don't have many choices besides some expensive private schools in the Northeast. |

Art major, interesting. That's what I was gonna be before deciding it would be a bad career choice and switching to another major and a different school. Come up to Massachusetts, plenty of schools up here! |

Art major is pretty much a terrible career choice, and the only real chance at making your money back is to teach it and continue the awful cycle, which is my eventual plan. Originally I was in graphic design, but I got into a fight with the instructor who was in charge of basically all of those classes and realized I liked the general art stuff I had to take a lot more. And I've never been past Connecticut into New England. I wanna take a visit at some pointthough. |

Based on my experiences, art teachers are like the least respected out of the entire faculty and their classes are always known as an 'easy A'. But I'm with you hello  I wanted to major in journalism but I'd rather have some money in my pocket so I'm currently undecided <3
