Name: Luthien Vladmir Kuritanis
Codename: Lord Kortan
Age: Unknown (Appears 21)
Side (Hero/Villain): Villian
Appearance:
Luthien’s pitch black hair falls across his back coming to several sharp points just past his shoulders. His bright green eyes pierces out from behind this veil. Sharp edges accent his clothing as the cuffs of his black shirt point along the side of his hand. The collar of his untucked shirt stands tall along the sides of Luthien’s face. Appearing from beneath this collar a ribbed sweater chokes up high on his neck. His boots are held tight to his legs by 3 silver buckles each spaced equally throughout the boots knee high length. Covering the majority of his boots Luthien’s pants sit lightly on his legs, accented by a powerful crease down their center. Draped loosely on his shoulders, Luthein’s midnight black “trenchcoat” falls down about his body with a sense of rigidity. His cloak falls out over his back, pieces of it’s jagged end just kissing the heels of his high combat boots. The inside of the cloak is a deep crimson almost indistinguishable from the blackness of his other clothes A crimson belt keeps his pants tight to his emancipated frame. If one were to watch closely as he moved they might perceive the midnight/crimson sheath of his katana which moulds into the darkness at his hip. Luthien carries a pair of black sunglasses with him at all times, though they are usually perched upon his thin hooked nose. On rare occasions in windy weather one can see a thin chain around his neck. Though black gloves are his norm. Luthien wears a single Katana sheathed on his left hip. Inscribed on it’s surface in flowing Russian are the words “Death liberates us from the chains of life”. On it’s scabberd however a crimson script can be seen in French decreeing “Within resides the blade of the Dragon.” Hidden inside his cloak Luthien carries a Death mask, which he wears if caught out in the light. A purple scar decorates Luthien’s right hand, a large vein in his arm, all the way to his neck.

Personality: Loner and realist. Not caught by the trappings of society Luthien bases his decisions on his logical understanding of the world. Because of his troubled past Luthien tends to make few personal attachments. Luthien also hates to give away anything that may give a potential enemy any advantage over him. Thus a cold-hearted nature springs forth, a lack of emotion that many find disturbing.

Power(s) (If Any): Superhuman agility and strength, slight regeneration and the ability to glide through the air (not true flight).

Weakness: Prolonged exposure to extreme sunlight and silver. (Can not use any of his powers in direct sunlight, exposure to silver limits his abilities)

Main Objective: Survival, and protection of that which is his. Luthien achieves these goals through the elimination of all those who pose him threat.

History: Born in the steepes of Siberia, Luthien lived a poor hard life. As an only child he with a crippled father, Luthien worked the rugged fields at a young age. Unbeknownst to the poor family they were of Royal blood. The dynasty of Kurita (the dragon) is one long tainted with death and betrayal. The farming family of the steepe acceepeted their life without question, but even at a young age Luthien could not. A gravestone in the middle of the field which had worked for so long had intrigued him ever since he had discovered the scrawl which adorned it’s surface. “Here lies Lord Kortan, last keeper of the stone and sword.” He was told to ignore it, that no could would come of digging through the past, and that it was more important to be focused on the next crop. Days grew to years and the boy grew to adulthood, and still he could not accept his lot. The stone made him dream of greater things. In the end he could not stand the mystery and one night while the village slept he stole out of the house. Bringing a spade with himself to the gravestone he worked up his courage and began to dig. Not long after the spade made contact with wood. Uncovering the coffin took hours but when he was done Luthien gazed at it in the moon light. The wood was had not faded at all with age. On the contrary it’s surface gleamed with the varnish from it’s creation. On the front a kind of obituary was written. “Lord V. Kortan, keeper of the stone and the sword. Lord of the dynasty of Kurita. Cursed to walk the earth for eternity by the Dragon but freed from the torture of his existence by Marvelo the slayer. He continues to guard his charges even in death.” With haste Luthien had pried open the coffin and gazed within it. Here were his answers he had though. The bodie was well preserved. It’s age was hard to distinguish but from the lines of grey in the other wise pitch black one could guess he was in his forties. Dressed emaquately in black the corpse appeared to be resting, rather then dead. Clutched in it’s long bony fingers a sword was sheathed in it’s scabberd. Around the corpse’s neck a silver chain flowed at the end of which was a large ebony stone. Luthien reached down to touch the stone. As his finger touched it’s surface one of the corpses hands flew out and grabbed his arm. The eyes flew open and in a flash, Luthien felt the nail slice his arm, his blood flowing out in spurts as the nail traced it’s way up to his neck. Before he could even utter a scream of terror he had been pulled down and felt the teeth on his neck… Suddenly the corpse spoke as it pushed Luthien’s neck away from it’s mouth. “And through the transfer of blood the changing of guard occurs. The immortal die and the mortal gain everlasting life. You are now the keeper. You are cursed to walk the world, forever guarding the… Sword” the sword moved and attached itself to Luthien’s belt. “… and the stone…” the chain fell over his neck. “Go no and do your duty as I did mine. A messenger will soon come, you must run.” With that the corpse withered away into dust and Luthien’s adventure began…
