Is it better to be feared? Or respected?

Name: Samus Aran Codename: N/A - Prefers to just be called Samus Age: 24 Side (Hero/Villain): Hero Appearance: ![]() Personality: Very serious, cannot take a joke, always gets the plan done Power(s) (If Any): None - Beams Samus's primary weapon systems are her beam weapons. These weapons generally have infinite ammo, the exceptions being the light, dark, and annihalator beams. All beams have a charged up state, which changes the beams affect, though the charge beam wasn't introduced until Super Metroid. Introduced in the Metroid Prime series are Beam Combos, which are combinations of a beam and missiles. It should also be noted that in most games the beams stack, giving each new beam new affects in addition to the abilities of the previous. In Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the player can switch between beams, allowing for a greater array of weaponry. Power Beam This beam is Samus's default weapon. She has it at the beginning of every game. It is rather weak, but it makes up for that in its high rate of fire. Its charged up version is more powerful, but otherwise unchanged. The Super Missile, the Power Beam's combo, is a simple, powerful blast that uses up five missiles plus the beam. The Super Missile is the only beam combo required to beat the Prime games. It should be of note that the Super Missile has taken different forms in different games (an example is the Hypermissile (switching to Hypermode with the P.E.D. suit and then firing missiles) in Prime 3). Wave Beam This powerful beam can pierce through walls by shooting waves of energy in up-and-down motions, instead of just straight forward. It is available in all games except Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime Pinball, and Metroid Prime Hunters. In Prime 3 it is slightly different, being called the Nova Beam and being a mixture between the Plasma and Wave Beam (the reason for this is that it is no longer possible to switch beams in Prime 3 which was possible in Prime 1 & 2). Ice Beam This beam can freeze enimies in Samus's game, allowing them to be walked on. In Metroid Fusion and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Samus has Ice missiles, which replace the Ice beam. In Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, it is replaced with the dark beam. In Metroid Prime: Hunters, it is replaced with the Judicator Beam. Every game except for Metroid Prime Pinball has some variation of the ice beam. In Metroid Fusion it is the final equipment gained because of the Metroid suit (Metroids are extremely vulnerable to cold), since freezing has been a great need in all Metroid games. Plasma Beam This beam can melt ice in Metroid Prime, but has a short range. In Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, it is replaced with the Light beam. In Metroid Fusion it is less of a high temperature beam; here it makes Samus able to shoot through enemies. In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption the Plasma Beam also allows Samus to mend various obljects (e.g. malfunctioning conduits via fusing). Dark Beam This upgrade in Metroid Prime 2 Allows Samus to fire beams of energy from Dark Aether. This beam acts like the Ice Beam, freezing enemies on contact, allowing greater accuracy on subsequent shots. Unique to Metroid Prime 2. Light Beam At the opposite end of the spectrum from the Dark Beam, the Light Beam sets enemies alight, eventually incinerating them. This can also be used to melt some enemies' body armor, rendering them immobile. Unique to Metroid Prime 2. Annihilator Beam This weapon is extremely powerful, firing a blast of antimatter that kills almost any enemies. It has limited homing capabilities, and can be used to activate sonic locks. Unique to Metroid Prime 2. Nova Beam This beam is similar to the wave beam, in that it can penetrate solid matter, but also retains the superheated properties of the plasma beam (due to the "stackable" nature of the beams). It is the last beam in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and is exclusive to said game. Weakness: Armors Varia Suit The Chozo Battle Suit given to Samus. It makes Samus resistant to high temperature changes. In most games it is the standard suit, but in Metroid Prime, Metroid Fusion, and several others, it is lost either in the beginning or very shortly afterward. In Metroid: Zero Mission it has not yet been acquired, but a form of it is; near the end, she is given an upgraded Chozo Suit she continues to use throughout the series. In the first Metroid games, it also decreases damage done by enemies, but this is not seen in the Prime games. Gravity Suit An upgrade of the Chozo Battle Suit allowing Samus to move quickly in liquids such as water or lava. Available in Zero Mission (not the original Metroid), Metroid II: Return of Samus, Super Metroid, and Metroid Prime. In all but Metroid Prime, the Gravity Suit also protects Samus from lava. In Metroid Prime 2: Echoes it is replaced by the Gravity Booster. Dark & Light Suit In Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, there are two other suits not seen in any other games. Because of the damaging of Samus' energy in Dark Aether from Metroid Prime 2, suits are made to stop her from getting much damage. After clearing the first Temple the Dark Suit is acquired, making Samus resistant Dark Aether's atmosphere, though not immune. After clearing the third Temple Samus acquires the Light Suit, which makes her immune to Dark World's atmosphere entirely and allows her to travel in light beam portals. P.E.D Suit After discovering that her body produces phazon, the Galactic Federation equips Samus with this suit. It harnesses the phazon her body produces, and allows her to enter "hypermode", which includes supercharged phazon attacks. Left unchecked, however, and the phazon can corrupt - which happens to Samus' fellow hunters in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Main Objective: To rid the galaxy of all extra-terrestrial threats to our solar system and its worlds. History: N/A for now - will be revealed in the RP as time passes |
