Just a quick thank you on behalf of John & Carolyn from The Glass Barrel. Sunday 26th August saw one of The Glass Barrel's regular charity events, this time in aid of C.R.Y. - Cardiac Risk in the Young - in memory of Amy Williams, who died in her sleep in April 2005. Amy was a very fit and healthy 11 year old. C.R.Y. is an organisation campaigning for the screening of all young people to detect any abnormalities of the heart that would otherwise go unnoticed. Five bands offered their services for the event - Chaos Theory, Mcloud, Bleed The Skyline, Casual Ties & Bad Horsie. So far £1600 has been raised with more to come in (including from me as nearly all my cash went behind the bar!)   A big thanks to everybody involved.   I staggered home before Bad Horsie took to the stage but my brother told me about the pics as he went in on Monday.........

Big thanks and respect to Bad Horsie for the loan of their gear on the day  Shame that technical ineptitude on our part (couldn't find 11) meant we didn't get the best out of the gear but nevertheless we were real chuffed to be part of the day. Sorry we had to clear off a bit pronto after our set but wimmin and beer waiting in the local required a quick off. Excellent Bad Horsie dressing up cupboard and van by the way - but remember - don't drum and drive!Only complaint is about the pig I got in the auction. I was still a bit pissed but managed to wrestle it under the grill the next morning. It tasted shit. Two quid as well! Robbing swine... |
