New Unlimited, Flat-Rate, No Signed Contract Calling Plans Are Most Affordable in the Market
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 2009-- Residents of Waco, Texas now have a new alternative to costly traditional wireless service plans. MetroPCS Communications, Inc. (NYSE: PCS), the nation’s leading provider of unlimited wireless communications service, announces the launch of its low cost, flat-rate unlimited wireless services with no signed contract in Waco, providing residents the freedom to enjoy the most affordable, flexible and predictable wireless service available.

MetroPCS offers a diverse selection of service plans, which allow customers to talk 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week, and enhanced service options so that residents can create a wireless experience that best fits their lifestyles. With MetroPCS service plans, customers pay by the month, not by the minute, and services do not require a signed contract or deposit. Service plans start as low as $30 per month, and unlimited long distance service to the 48 continental United States and Puerto Rico is available with service plans as low as $35 per month. The first month of service is included with the purchase of a phone and there is no activation fee or hidden charges.

Additionally, MetroPCS offers unlimited family plans and MetroPCS Unlimited NationwideSM which allows MetroPCS subscribers to use their affordable, flat-rate, no signed contract service in more than 300 cities in the continental United States and Puerto Rico. This expanded service area is included at no additional charge in MetroPCS’ current $45 and $50 service plans and can be added for $5 per month on other qualified service plans.

This launch marks the continuation of MetroPCS’ expansion into Texas and as an added benefit, subscribers in the Waco market will be able to use their wireless service in all MetroPCS service areas, including Dallas/Fort Worth, Tyler, Longview, Marshall, Kilgore and Shreveport and Bossier City, La. Additionally, with MetroPCS Unlimited NationwideSM, subscribers will be able to use their wireless service in Temple, Killeen, Austin, San Antonio and Houston. MetroPCS’ unlimited wireless service is now offered in all major U.S. regions including the East Coast, Southeast, Midwest, Central and Western regions.

“Waco is a key market for MetroPCS,” said Tracy Lange, vice president and general manager, for MetroPCS’ Texas and Louisiana markets. “As a new member of this community, MetroPCS demonstrates its commitment to the area by offering consumers, both residents and college students, in Waco a new, more flexible and affordable option for unlimited wireless service. Our flat-rate, unlimited, low cost service plans make MetroPCS an affordable, worry-free and planned expense for all value-oriented consumers looking to reduce extra spending and streamline their budgets in today’s economy. We believe we will be the natural choice of wireless service for Waco residents.”

Upon launch of service in Waco, MetroPCS will have eight authorized dealer locations in the area. Four of the eight locations will be service and warranty centers, which will ensure convenience for its subscribers.

Continued consumer demand for MetroPCS’ wireless service, as well as entry into new markets such as Waco, have been the driving factors behind the company’s growth to approximately 5.4 million subscribers nationwide.

Consumers can visit any of MetroPCS’ current authorized dealer locations or visit MetroPCS’ web site at www.metropcs.com to sign up for service plans, choose from a lineup of wireless phones from the top handset manufacturers, and receive a complete list of locations where expanded coverage is offered.
