Body found in southend By SHAWN JEFFORDS Local News - Tuesday, May 29, 2007 Updated @ 9:22:47 AM Sarnia police are trying to determine how a man died and why he remained undiscovered in his car in the city’s southend for several weeks. The unidentified male was discovered Monday night when police were called to the area of Campbell and Alice Streets around 5 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, officers determined the body had been there for some time, possible for two weeks or more. “I’m not going to go into gruesome details,” said Const. Bill Baines. “There are obvious signs when a body has been there for a significant period of time. The investigators were sure that was the case here to the point where they required the assistance of the Centre of Forensic Sciences to determine the cause of death of the individual.” Both the body and the vehicle have been transported to the centre in Toronto. Depending on the agency’s workload, results could come today or take weeks. “There are a lot of unanswered questions at this point,” Baines said. “The information we hope, can be provided by the centre, will certainly steer the investigation.” Baines said police have not ruled out either death by natural causes or foul play. Police are asking anyone with information to call the Criminal Investigations Unit or Crimestoppers. “Somebody may be aware of a male party they haven’t seen in the past few weeks,” he said. “The discovery of the body may tweak their memory, if they do have some information or an inkling or suspicion of who this may be we’d ask they come forward.” To contact police regarding this investigation call 519-344-8861 ext. 5300 or ext. 6079. source ------------------------------------------- ewww...ewwwwwww.....ewwwwwwwww...... now that's just nasty and to think no one in this gawd forsaken town noticed a dead guy in a car none the less...for a couple weeks.....
